Course Curriculum Overview
I had chosen the Honors course in Bachelor of Commerce. The Common University Entrance Test cutoff score ranges from 760-770 for general category. The faculty is very interactive and readily available to solve all the queries. There are 2 semester exams conducted in a year. Attendance is not an issue here. But, not being readily present in class affects the internal marks (out of 70). The written paper is of 90 marks. The professors generally give very big assignments (about 20-30 pages) thrice a semester. This gives us adequate learning and research skills. The curriculum consists of real life rules and regulations and principles which are currently being applied in the commercial world.
Internships Opportunities
The college holds the largest internship fair in the complete Delhi NCR. Around 170 companies come every year to recruit students. The highest stipend for last year was ? 80,000 and the average stipend was ?15,000.
Placement Experience
The placement cell of my college mainly focus om providing better infernship and placement opportunities to the student. The placement sometimes gives a thorough challenge to top colleges like SRCC and Hindu college. In the past year, the average placement was 8 lakhs and highest was 30 lakhs. The highest stipend for internship was 80,000. The average stipend was 15,000
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee for the 1st year is around 31000 (for general category) for the B.Com (Hons) course. This fee is comparatively higher than the fee for same course in other colleges of Delhi University which varies from 15000 to 35000.
Campus Life
The campus is very large and convenient to move around. It consists of a small park, a library, around 4 computer labs, an outdoor lawn tennis and basketball court, a large ground for cricket and football, a gym for children involved in sports activities, a music room, a very big and well-maintained auditorium, a small waiting area named ‘Jannat’. There is also a branch of Punjab N Sind Bank in the college campus. The campus life is average. It is good for students who just want to study and get involved in some of the society activities. The college also provides option to enter the National Cadet Corps (NCC). Overall, it is a great experience. The college also conducts an annual Cultural Fest named LASHKARA
Admission
I had applied for other colleges like SRCC, Hansraj, Hindu, Sri Venkateshwara, etc. This college was my last resort to stay in the famous north campus of the Delhi University (as I couldn't match the cutoff for other colleges). The admission takes place on the basis of marks scored in CUET.
Faculty
The faculty here is very nice. The never fail to pick up calls for doubt clearing after the classes. They are very supporting. But, a lot of assignments are given by the teachers in order to give marks for internal assessment. In each class, there are about 80 students for each professor. The faculty members are easily approachable. Each class has a black board along with a projector. There are 2 semester exams conducted every year (aside from internal exams).
Night Life
The nightlife is not that much overhyped. The college hostels are available to only girls and the hostel gates close every ecening at 7pm. So there is not that much of nightlife for the students. Students other from hostels live in city. They enjoy the nightlife
