- Very good academic environment and highly qualified faculty
- Well-maintained labs, hostels, library, and sports facilities are available.

- The 1:6 girls-to-boys ratio affects social balance on campus
- The quality of food could be significantly improved.
- Some courses are too theory-heavy and could benefit from more practical content.
Placement Experience:
Placements at IIT Kanpur are excellent, especially in core engineering, software, analytics, and finance sectors . Students become eligible for placements from 7th semester(B.Tech).
Top recuiters include Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, and Texas Instruments , startups and PSUs like IOCL and ISRO also visit.
Highest package was around 1.5Cr/annum, while avg package for mechanical is 18Lpa.
Over 84% of eligible students get placed .
After my degree , I plan to pursue higher studies .

Likes
- Our syllabus is in line with top international universities as we have most syllabus inspired by them.
- Our infrastructure is better than every single IITs of the country and is also one of the largest IITs of the country.
- Our course is as tough as it gets as because Chemical engineering is one of the most complex studies but we are given teaching that makes this complex studies looks simple.
Dislikes
- Definitely it's some of the students as they enter IITs and then lose all their seriousness.
Placement Experience:
At IIT Kanpur the standards are same and the pattern is set as well. So, from the last year we have less studies and all placements activities at top. From Alchem Labs to Ipca Labs many listed companies at NSE are the ones that offers placements and percentage for Chemical engineering is 86% as of now.

- Infrastructure is world class and constantly under development
- Overall society in diverse and excellent peer group.
Dislikes
- Everywhere post graduate students have not adequate representation
- Academics is super tough and some irrelevant cousrses are there
- There is some sort of drug abuse happening in some hostels
Placement Experience:
The placement drive start in 7th sem with interviews at the end of 7th semester and another in 8th sem. Around 80% of students gets placed mostly in non core sector like SDE, finance, consulting. Average package is around 25lpa, with maximum around 4.3cr.

- Campus scenery consisting of wide range flora and fauna sparks the beauty of IIT
- Perfect library with all the books needed for best education
- Hostels are decent with a diverse range of sport facilities

- Mess food is not so good due to a lot of accommodation

Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is almost perfect with proper exams conducted throughout the semester to test the knowledge of students and rectify their mistakes. But few courses are outdated in 1st year which creates a negative impact on academics.

- Iit kanpur provides good scientific and technological research facility.There are many projects working on Ai, Robotics etc in Iit kanpur.
- It provides many intership program. It also gives many scholarship program.It collaborates with many top rank universities of the world.

- There is so much pressure of academic like viva,exam etc.It can lead to stress many times.The workload in B tech is so high on students.
- The campus is well mentioned but nearby it so much pollution. There is many factory working near it.
- The climate in kanpur is harsh.during summer temperatures Crossed 40 degree Celsius. It leads to so much stress.
Placement Experience:
It has strong and successful placement record.there are many sectors where good placement going on in iit kanpur like it, consulting,core engineering, manufacturing, startups etc.top most companies like Amazon Facebook,apple flipkart actively recruiting from iit kanpur.A Number of student got pre placement during internships.average package at Iit kanpur is 24 lakh .top package at Iit kanpur is approximately 1 cr per annum.

- Many eateries inside the campus which serves food uptill 4 in the night
- The oat that hosts so many different functions

- Sometimes the bathroom services are not good as there is a problem of water
- Mess food gets boring after some time due to repetitio
- Academics is sometimes too much hectic here

Placements here at IIT KANPUR are improving year by year and try to place as many students as possible . With a large team of students and professors that work day and night to invite companies for campus recruitment.

- friendly behaviour of seniors, this is the thing that I like most here in this campus which makes us comfortable with them and share our problems.
- its such a beautiful campus and especially in winters you get an awesome view from every corner of the campus, i always prefer to explore the campus and it never disappoints me
- social interactions in this campus ids so good and we have people from all over India , they follow different cultures and we learn a lot from them.
Dislikes
- extreme climate conditions in summer and winter, whether its too hot in summer or too cool in winters
- grading system is too hard, it depends on professor but mostly its so complicated and grades wont be as we expected
- not so good transportation, we have railway station around 15km but if its is airport its 25km with heavy traffic routes from campus
Placement Experience:
In our college, placements are offered. And many of the students get a job in that because
Many of the students are aware of what are industry requirements And they do internships based on what they are intrested in. Every year.
The average package of I.I.T kanpur is around twenty five lakhs. This year we had excellent placements and the official data is not yet out but still its known that average package is around 25-27LPA.

- Campus is very large and beautiful.it is lush green
- Hostels are beautiful and the roads inside the campus are perfect for driving bicycles
- Food and water quality of mess is perfect
Dislikes
- Curriculum is a bit hard and competitive
- College is located outside the main city(Kanpur)
- Boys girl ratio is less that is approximately 1:4
Placement Experience:
Placements of my college is tremendous its average package is around 18 to 20 LPA in almost all the branches while in Cs average is around 45 LPA
College placement percentage is around 90-95%
Almost all the students who apply for placements are placed
Off campus placements are also good as the biggest player in off campus placements is the IIT tag

Likes
- The monthly bill for mess is better than one time bill so that it can become affordable. The rebate facility is also available.
- The college fests like antragni, udghosh, galaxy and inferno are best part of college life. There you will get a chance to meet great celebrities.
- Institute counselling service and student guide it provides to every student to solve the academic and personal problem of every student.
Dislikes
- The traffic of bicycles during lecture time makes the road crowdy. It gets worse on rainy days.
- The distance from hostel to academic area is very much large. Also the distance from hostel to the main gate is too much.
- The size of rooms is not enough for number of people residing in it.
Placement Experience:
The placement rate of our college is vary good. The average package for the past few years is twenty lakhs per annum. Different companies of different fields come in our college. Students of fourth year are eligible to participate in the placement. There is a special cell called student placement office which manages all the placement related work and acts as a medium between students and companies.

- The Culture of IIT Kanpur is best among all IITs. There is a cultural of Amma Baapu which is very good and seniors are very helpful
- Lot of activities going around campus everyday. There is lot of opportunities to explore. You can pursue what you like!
- Students are very smart and talented. They are the one who cracked the JEE Advanced. Many Students are good not onlynin studies but in extra curricular activities too.
Dislikes
- There is lot of Academic pressure. There are many activities happens around the campus but you have to manage time for both
- Lot of peer pressure a student feel. Everyone around you is way smarter than you which makes you feel inferior
- Actually many professors are lack in teaching skills. They might have very deep knowledge in their subjects but not have good skill to teach.
Placement Experience:
IIT Kanpur has amazing placements. Its average package is more than the highest package of many good engineering college. IIT Kanpur has average package of 24 lpa. It's CSE department has average package of 54 lpa even more than IIT Bombay.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.
