DoMS, IIT Kanpur Opens MBA Admission 2026–28 Through CAT 2025

The Department of Management Sciences (DoMS), Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, has opened applications for admission to its MBA programme for the 2026–2028 batch. Admission to the programme is conducted through a Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025–based selection process, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI).

Eligible candidates can submit the online application form through the official IIT Kanpur admission portal. The registration deadline is January 31, 2026, till 5:00 PM. According to the official schedule, the GDPI shortlist is expected to be released by February 15, 2026 (tentatively).

MBA 2026 Admission Process at DoMS, IIT Kanpur

The MBA admission process for the 2026–2028 batch at the Department of Management Sciences (DoMS), Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, is conducted through a structured, multi-stage selection procedure based on CAT 2025.

Stage 1: Initial Application

In the first stage, eligible candidates are required to submit the online application form within the prescribed timeline. Only candidates who fulfil the academic qualifications and have appeared for CAT 2025 are considered for further evaluation.

The application fee is ₹2000 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates and ₹1000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Stage 2: Short Listing of the Applications

In the second stage, DoMS, IIT Kanpur will shortlist candidates for the next round based on their overall CAT 2025 percentile. The minimum qualifying percentile is 80 for General, EWS and OBC (NCL) categories, and 55 for SC, ST and PwD categories. Final cut-offs may vary depending on the number of applicants and seat availability.

Stage 3: Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI)

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in the GDPI stage. The GDPI process is scheduled to be conducted from March 13 to March 16, 2026, at Noida and Kanpur. During this stage, candidates are evaluated on academic background, work experience, communication skills and overall interview performance using a structured assessment framework.

Stage 4: Final Merit List Preparation

All short-listed applicants qualifying for Stage 3 will be considered for the merit list preparation. The list will be prepared for each category based on the aggregate score arrived at by adding the individual scores of each candidate.
