Likes

The Culture of IIT Kanpur is best among all IITs. There is a cultural of Amma Baapu which is very good and seniors are very helpful
Lot of activities going around campus everyday. There is lot of opportunities to explore. You can pursue what you like!
Students are very smart and talented. They are the one who cracked the JEE Advanced. Many Students are good not onlynin studies but in extra curricular activities too.

Dislikes

There is lot of Academic pressure. There are many activities happens around the campus but you have to manage time for both
Lot of peer pressure a student feel. Everyone around you is way smarter than you which makes you feel inferior
Actually many professors are lack in teaching skills. They might have very deep knowledge in their subjects but not have good skill to teach.

Course Curriculum Overview

Some courses are good while some courses are meaningless. Courses like Technical Arts, Ethics and Biology are meaningless of an Engineer. What is the use of TA for a CSE student? Some courses such as ESC, PHY Lab are good .

Internships Opportunities

There is an amazing intership opportunity in IIT Kanpur .In my college many students got intership. My seniors told me that who secure more 8+ CPI almost everyone for internship. There is my senior who got 65 lakhs internship in Korea.

Placement Experience

IIT Kanpur has amazing placements. Its average package is more than the highest package of many good engineering college. IIT Kanpur has average package of 24 lpa. It's CSE department has average package of 54 lpa even more than IIT Bombay.

Fees and Financial Aid

I belongs to SC category so I know about my fees. During admission it charge around 25k. There is no tuition fees for reserved category students. There would a monthly mess and electricity bill. Which cost you around 5k per month. It may fluctuate 3k-7k depending on how many times you buy extras in mess. Rate of mess is around ?85 per day.

Campus Life

There are lot of clubs in IIT Kanpur. You name it IITK have it.IIT Kanpur have its culture fest names Antaragni which is one of the biggest fest in India. There are many more events going through whole year. Galaxy, Inferno, Takneek, etc are such event that IIT Kanpur have

Hostel Facilities

When you first came into hostel and you see the room. You find it very small but after some months you find your room is now bigger. There are 14 hostel in IIT Kanpur, Undergraduate freshers get Hall 13 for boys and Hall 4 for girls.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

I choose this college over other college because according to me it is the best college of the country with amazing culture and college life. IIT Kanpur is best among all other colleges in India in Engineering. It is the only institute in the country which have its own Airstrip. It is the first college in the country to start Computer Science program, and many more such things make this college amazing.

Faculty

Many faculty do not have good teaching skills even though they have a great knowledge in their fields. In first year all students have common courses named PHY, CHM, MTH, ESC, ETH, ELC, TA, LIF, PHY lab, CHM Lab. All the students are divided into to group One group have courses like CHM, TA, ELC,MTH and PHY while other groups have courses like ESC, LIF, ETH, PHY, MTH.

Night Life

There is no curfew time in the Campus. You can go on cycling whenever you want. Girls are allowed in the boys hostel before 12 AM. When I new in the college me and my wingies used to go to cycling at 2 AM in the morning. Campus is vast and safe. There is a canteen named DOAA which is open 24/7

Placement Experience:

Form the beginning of very first year students are eligible for the campus placements. TCS, cognizant, wipro, are the some companies visited here. Highest package is 44 lpa in amazon which is off campus for software role. Placements % is quite medium if you are serious about skill then you will be get a path here to go ahead. Arround 60 to 70 is the placement % My plans after getting degree is to get a job.

GLA University Mathura is Great!

Placement Experience:

Average package at GLA University may range between 5-7 lakhs but one student has managed to get placements of 55 lakhs and that is still the record placement from GLA University campus Mathura. Around 70-75% students are placed every year but I will be preparing for GATE as my ambition are to be atleast post graduate if not a PHD.

Good for learning and Skill development

Placement Experience:

Mostly te 6th sem (3rd year) got eligible for campus placement. Amazon, Accenture, AVL India, Atlan and many others (about 900+) visited and made 4000+ offers. The ave. package is about 5.25 LPA and highest crossed 39 LPA. Above 60%+ got their placement and the persentage of students receiving multiple offer is about 32%. After degrre want to build a strong carrer and to contribute in the grouth of Bharat.

Honest Opinion on IIIT ALLAHABAD

Placement Experience:

From 4th semester, many students get into the internship and many gets further preplacement through it. The companies visted are google, atlassian, flipkart, qualcomm, samsung, phone pe etc. Highest package is 1.21CR per annum. Average package is 30LPA 90% students got placed. Private job is the plan after getting the degree. 90% students gets placed.

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats.
