The program fee refund for the inaugural batch (Jan 2026) of Online PG Programs, upon completion, is: Full for MTech (₹1.5L) and MSc (₹1L), and 50% for PG Diploma (₹50K). Excludes those with other fee waivers.

The application process begins by appearing for and qualifying in the National Exams, such as CAT, XAT, GMAT, or IIT Kanpur's online entrance test. Once qualified, candidates can apply online through the official IIT Kanpur PG Diploma Program portal.
IIT Kanpur Online PG and PG Diploma fees are ₹ 15,000 and ₹ 10,000, is refundable if the admission is not offered by the IIT Kanpur.

To be eligible for the online PG Diploma Program, students must meet the eligibility criteria based on a two-tier framework. The first pathway is through a valid score above the declared cutoff in national-level entrance exams like GATE, JAM, CEED, CAT, GRE, or GMAT, depending on the discipline of the program applied for.
The second option is to qualify through the IIT Kanpur Online Entrance Test, an online proctored examination conducted centrally by IIT Kanpur. Along with entrance exam qualification, candidates should have a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 5.5 or 55% marks in their qualifying degree, relevant coursework, and professional or research experience as applicable.
