FFCS. A study who is facing difficulty to study more, can take less number of credits and it will reduce the burden of the students. And the student can also Complete the entire course in 4 years instead of 5years by taking maximum no of credits. ~ Supriya R Patil, B.Sc + M.Sc
Campus Life in Vit is simply magnificent. All types of facilities are provided inside the campus including sport complex and restaurants. The girls to boys ratio in Mechanical engineering is surprisinly high of about 1:7. ~ Mithilesh Angal, B.Tech
New hostel blocks are good and spacious and time to time cleaning facilities are available
Lush green campus with different types of sports ground available
Dislikes
The in time for hostel is too early for both boys and girls
Outing time is very less for weekdays and weekends, it should be atleast 5 hours
Hostel rules are very strict, students are not allowed to enjoy their hostel life properly
Course Curriculum Overview:
The number of exams should be less . There should be only 2 exams in each semester i.e. Mid term exams and final sem exams . As the first semester is easier than other semesters still it is hectic for students . Teaching method of some facilities are quite impressive . VITian and other apps and websites like VTOP are available which helps students.
research projects that i do and chapter and club i m part of which gives me endless opportunities
my campus life which majorly includes the people i met and the board that i m part of
the cultural fests and events that happens every once ina while
Dislikes
my accommodation isnt too great and the system which we have to follow
the average marking scheme and exam system which is too overwhelming
the strict dress code behaviour which is not fair and discrimination in the strictness towards girls and guys
Placement Experience:
the employment opprotunities are there but i ll be applying externally too becuase the companies are moslty manufacturing units and i want to go in research. there are programs for interview preparations and all which i will be joining but you always opt to leave it too.
Campus life ,clubs ,events ,hostels ,opportunities ,placements
Dislikes
Strict rules for girls in the campus. Dress rules, PDA guards.
Inequality among the south and north Indians
Sometimes they make our schedule very hectic like we give exams on sundays as well
Placement Experience:
From fixed semester onwards you can avail a good internships from college the CDC department will keep on sending you emails regarding the placement and internship offers. College placement is very nice as there are many companies visiting our college and the highest package we got was 1.2 crore. And every time we get lots of offer and mostly it's 100% placement in our college. They give us training before placement season starts. They teach us coding even if you are from a non coding background they will teach you so that you can sit for coding companies as well. My plans after getting the degree will be getting a good placement from college only. And also the average placement is 10 lacs per year. And I think this is quite good as a private University
For the campus placements students here are eligible from the third year. But some students go for abroad studies. To be honest, placements here are not that good, the main reason is the huge number of students. But if one focuses on skills will get a job easily not necessarily on-campus.
I liked the thing that we are able to chose the courses in every semester.
Digital library that is used by many people for reference
Open book examination but only one exam CAT 2 weightage marks
Dislikes
We get paid for travelling in shuttle inside the campus
Building are far too away so that we cannot attend the classes on time.
Placement Experience:
After completing 5 or 6 sem you will be eligible for placements. Only if you have "0" backlogs. The highest package is 97lakhs per year and the average would be 7-12 lpa. Almost everyone gets placed in the placement if they have studied anything in the 6 sems. If not VIT is not responsible. I am going to try the campus interview for better job opportunities.
From semester 7 we can sit for placements and varieties of companies come to select people like amazon Flipkart TVs etc
Most of them get placed in VIT but not everyone gets the best package
I plan on doing Masters and then getting work somewhere abroad.
VIT follows a fully flexible credit system that allows students to select their faculty from the University for their subject. The curriculum was also well defined in the beginning and the student ratio maintained max 60 students in one class.
Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester, Placements in cse, it and ece are pretty good, average placements in other branches are approximately 4-5 lacks/annum. Students who don't sit for placements opt for higher studies or MBA.
The college boasts a 100% placement which is also true to a very large extent. Every year more than 500 companies visit the campus to recruit students from all the branches and have ample of internship opportunities as well.
The students become eligible for campus placements from 6th semester onwards. Some of the recruiters that participated were Intel, Qualcomm, NetApp, Nokia, Philips, Titan, PayPal etc. The institute rolled out around 7000 overall offers marking an increase of 20.47% as compared to previous years. Mostly 90% of students applying for campus placements will be placed. I am planning to pursue Mtech
