VIT AP Campus

VIT AP has a wide area campus spread over 200 acres. The campus is located in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. It is about 16.9 km from Mangalagiri Bus Stand, 18.3 km from Vijayawada Junction, and 32 km from Vijayawada International Airport.

According to student reviews, VIT AP hostel has clean rooms, and the food is usually good. The college has nice facilities, and the teachers are kind and teach well. There are big playgrounds and good sports facilities. But sometimes the Wi-Fi stops working, there is no water, and the food is not tasty on some days.

Dislikes

Intake has increased drastically in last few years, not just for AP campus but for all VIT campuses.
Mess food although decent, can be improved a lot
Extremely hectic time schedule and very high academic pressure due to 2 mid sems, a lab finals, End sems along with quizzes, assignments, etc.

Placement scenario and packages being offered

Students become eligible for placements for 3 year 2nd Sem. Placements are centralised for all campuses of VIT. This year as of yet 10,000 offers has been given by 407 companies. Last year 82% of students got placed from VIT AP with an average CTC of 7.8 lakhs.

Capstone projects and internship opportunity in various organizations

University tries to provide interships to as many people as possible. Companies that had offered interships are Adobe, Uber, Accenture, Sleepwell, etc. Those who are not able to do an interships can complete the credits offered for interships by doing capstone project.

Industry related course structure and examination pattern

The curriculum is quite up to date. It does focus on real life application and implementations of topics. Questions in exams are application based questions, making the exams both challenging as well as requiring students to understand the concept rather than mugging up theory. But there should be more teaching hours for a lot of courses as they seemed rushed. Exams are conducted every 1 and half months with weightage as follows: Continuous Assessment Test 1 - 50 marks (15% weightage). Continuons Assessment Test 2 - 50 marks (15% weightage) Lab Final Assessment Test - 50 marks (40% weightage) (If Lab component is there) Final Assessment Test -100 marks (40% weightage)

Fees structure and scholarship available and eligibility

The current tuition fees for me is 304,000/yr since I got admission in category 2. The fees structures varies based on which category you get your admission in. The fees structure based on each category for B.Tech courses are as follows: Category 1 - 195,000/yr Category 2 - 304,000/yr Category 3 - 402,000/yr Category 4 - 445,000/yr Category 5 - 490,000/yr One time caution deposit for all category (refundable) - 3000 The fees category is based on the VITEEE rank and VITEEE Counselling. This fees is fixed once admission is completed, it doesn't change

Faculty reviews and exam patterns

The faculty members in the university are experienced, and although some of their teachings might not be that clear, but they are well qualified in their field. The faculty to student ratio varies for department to department. For CSE, its 1:65. The faculties that I like: Dr. Anshul G. - Due to their enthusiastic way of teaching, approachable behavior, and kind heartedness. The faculties that I dislike: Dr. RMP - Although they are knowledgable, they are not approachable and don't respond kindly to students. Exams are moderate to Hard. You atleast need to study for 3 days before exams, and that too if u have paid attenion in classes. The % of students who fail to clear a course varies greatly from courses to courses. The course curriculum is quite relevant.

Hostel facilities and accommodation nearby campus premises

The hostel room is a 4bed Non AC room (I opted for it). Each person has a bed, table, chair, cupboard, charging port, personal light and a ceiling fan. The food quality is acceptable but could be much better. Hostels are based on hostel counselling which is based on NCGPA ranking. rented rooms and PGs are available in Inavolu, Mangalgiri and Vijaywada.

Cultural fests , various clubs and facilities in campus

The annual cultural and sports fest is called VITopia held around February and the annual tech fest is called VTAPP held around December. Journals and books in the library are available for every student of the university for free of cost. Each classroom is wifi enabled with projectors. The indoor and outdoor sports facilities of the university is also extensive. Clubs and chapters are also quite active with over 250 clubs.

Location advantage amongst similar colleges

VIT is a well known brand, is much better than most other institutes out there in India. My preference was Chennai - Vellore - AP but I was getting much higher categories for both Chennai and Vellore campus. Thats why I joined AP campus.

Night Life

Hostel intime for both girls and boys (UG and PG) is 8:30pm. The university is absolutely safe to roam around even at night. There are a lot of good hangout places but the most famous one is Food Street.

There will be lots of technical and not technical events will be conducted including big cultural fest and tech fest

strict rules and regulations can feel sometimes very restrictive and limit student freedom,and gender ratio is 2:3
the campus is still under construction,ongoing work is a bit of disturbance

Admission:

I choose vit ap over other colleges primarily for its industry aligned curriculum and steong placement support from establish vit brand.While I had offers from other local colleges, but they couldnt match specialized btech programs. The applicationprocess was online and entrance based(VITEEE) we must clear that,But the scores of AP EAMCET is also acceptable ,attending counselling based on your ranl for the seat.

We have 3 study blocks - AB1 , AB2 and CB . Every floor has male/female/staff washrooms and many water dispensers . There are many classrooms and some have been converted into dining halls for the day scholars to have lunch and sit in their free time
Every month we have events sponsored by different clubs which creates and nice gathering and musical environment for the crowd , a lot of engagement also takes place if we are part of the particular club .
I love the overlook of the campus , its architecture of the main block is amazing and scenic . There is lot of walking space between hostels and other blocks so it does not get much crowded . They are building more hostels which was needed .

Dislikes

The location of the campus is not great according to me due to its unpredictable weather , it gets super sunny and hot during summers and has heavy rains during monsoon season causing the roads to get blocked .
It would be great if AC's were installed in all classroom and not only labs because it gets very hot and humid during the summers .

Admission:

I applied to give entrance examination for VIT , JEE MAINS , SRM and KIIT . I wanted to give BITSAT and NDA but it was the covid year and i was living abroad due to which i couldnt travel for it . My JEE MAINS score was not so high that could get me Computer science courses in NIT's. I personally didn't want to join KITT even though its a great college but i am from Bhubaneshwar and KIIT is close to my home so i wanted to go to a different state. Due to covid i only had option to give online exams for VIT and SRM . i got good scores in both for which category 1 was a place for me , i read different reviews in quora and saw many videos in youtube so my parents and 1 decided to join VIT AP campus .

There are many events organised by the clubs.
The campus is huge. The people are very good.
The seniors are very good. Ragging is not found

Entry time in campus is 6pm which is too fast

I love vit so i chose this college over all the colleges i got. Vit is a brand. The admission process in my college is- 1. Councelling after giving viteee exam 2. Choice filling, choice locking 3. Seat allotment Then pay for the admission fee according to the fee category alloted

The hostels and campus are always kept clean
I really liked the modern infrastructure of my college

Dislikes

Overcrowding is the biggest issue we face inside our camps
The irregularities in wifi plus the restrictions on students are quite stressful
The campus is still under construction. So students might face issues.

Admission:

Inspite of viteee, I had appeared for jee and BITSAT. Through jee I wasn't getting cse in Nit Rourkela while I was getting mechanical there, and I am very much particular about my branch. So I dropped not Rourkela. As of bis, the tuition fees was way too high for my family to support, eventually I dropped this though. The reason I chose vit ap over others is because of his cost effective tuition fees plus it's good placement records Yes I was rejected by many IITs as well. Tp take admission here, we have to apply for viteee and quality the exam to take admission here.

The college is quite strict regarding ragging in the campus.
The college is quite good for sports management.

The student may get language barrier as the most of the people talk in their native language.

I have given many entrance exam of different college but vit ap was the best college i was getting. During the admission process there are 5 categories of these college and different categories have different fees structure starting from 2 lakh to 5 lakh.

Yes, there are various scholarships provided by VIT AP under which you can get 25% to 100% cover up of tuition fee. Mentioned below are the names of these scholarships:

VIT AP considers score of merit and entrance examination for admission to different courses. It also conducts a CBT (Computer Based Test) for admission to UG courses whereas admission to the PG courses such as M.Sc. is based on merit marks secured in the previous qualifying examination.

No, The VITEEE Admit Card 2024 will be made available in online mode only. The authorities will not be sending any hard copies to the candidates through post or any other means. The candidates have to use their VITEEE 2024 application number and password to enter the VIT OTBS. The slot booking is done in the first come first serve basis

The exam pattern for VITREE Ph.D. and Direct Ph.D. is different from each other. Both papers will be held for 100 marks. Each question will contain 1 marks and there is no negative marking. However, the duration of the VITREE exam is of two hours. The direct Ph.D. will not contain the Statistics and Probability section rest will be similar to Ph.D. The section will contain:

Technical - 70 question
English Communication Skills - 15
Statistics & Probability - 15

The VIT AP BBA first year fee is divided category wise. The fee has to be paid year wise (year wise instalments) Mentioned below are the category wise fee details:

1^st – INR 55 thousand per year
2^nd – INR 58 thousand per year
3^rd - INR 1 lac per year

There is a caution deposit of INR 3 thousand which is fully refundable.

VIT Provides admission to the courses on the basis of its own entrance test known as VITEEE. The last date of registration for the test was 10^th April 2024. The VIT AP entrance test has already been conducted between 19 to 30 April 2024.
