NIT Calicut stands among the top NITs where you will get a lot of exposure to extracurricular activities. If you choose Mechanical here then you can go for two different paths. The first path is to go for mechanical core, in which you will get ample research opportunities every now and then. However, the placement scenario will not be that great and you might get some PSUs as campus recruiters for mechanical jobs. The second path is to go for IT Jobs regardless of your mechanical branch. For this, you need to start doing regular coding and relevant skills to compete during the placement rounds. 1) So basically the average year wise fees is about 4 lakhs (including hostel fees). 2) Tuition fees is about 198000 for category 1 and 3000 caution fees (refundable) which adds upto 200100 INR. 3) One of my batchmate is in category 2 whose fees is around 3 Lakhs and 3000 caution fees. 4) VIT offers scholarship to the high rank holders in their entrance exam (upto rank 500). They also provide scholarship to the central aur state board toppers. They also provide the STARS Scheme which provide the high ranking students 100% waiver on tuitions , hostel , mess fees who are from the rural or government schools with family income less or equal to 1.5 Lakhs per year

Very strict curriculum and the 75 percent attendance is a bit nerve wracking
You also may feel overwhelmed by the crowd that you will witness here due to multiple fees category which has led to a huge number of admissions

It is a decent college but the curriculum is very strict and you are constantly bounded by the attendance criteria. Also if you opt for boys hostel it is a long walk to the academic block which you have to cover on a daily basis. The facilities in the hostel are pretty decent but lacks a good wifi connection and you often have to use your own mobile data to do daily work on your system.You can opt for this college if you are into studies.

Major thing i don't like abiut this university is despite paying lakhs for fees here we have to pay even more for enrolling in smallest of the things for our acedemics ad extra curticulars.

I'm a student in VIT university Bhopal. I'm paying an annual fees of 2 lakhs pr year as tuition fees and beside that 2.15 lakh as hostel fees. I got CSE branch in VIT in category 1st . However many of my friends are paying 4 to 5 lakh for the same course here andalso the hostel fees. VIT doesn't provides any such merit based scolarship . Your rank in VITEEE exam devides your academic fees which will vary in between 2 lakhs to 5 lakhs for all kind of courses.

For four years, my tuition fees is 198000 while my hostel fees will be around 200000. The caution fees for both academic and hostel is around 18000. My friends have taken admission in category 1,2,3,4 and 5. The tuition fees vary for different categories. For category 1, one has to pay 198000, for category 2 it is 307000, for category 3 it is around 4,02000, for category 4 it is around 4,78000 and for category 5 it is over 500000.

VIT Vellore, detailed review for freshers

I was in category 5, so I had to pay tuition fee of 5 lakh and I opted for 2AC hostel room which is a bit on the higher side at around one lakh fifty thousand a year. They take a caution deposit of thirty thousand but it is refundable at the end of your course. There is no reservation for any caste based reimbursements. Category 1 pays the least with just 2 lakhs of tuition fee per year. It is worth mentioning that after 1st year everyone is allotted rooms in accordance with their grades, so the hostel rates vary.

The curriculum is quite old and follows the old age things I think there need to be change in it by adding the new age things upgrading yourself to modern techniques

For me the fee at vit for whole 4 years was 200000 per year for whole four years it was 8 lakhs which was quite worth for me cause I got the seat in vit that too in cse in cat - 1 which is the lowest fee structure In vit and I am quite happy with the fee and coming to extra free in the 3rd they take around 30 thousand for placement training and exam fees every sem minimal other than that there are no more extra and caution deposit is around 10k there and that it is it there are no many hidden charges

year wise tution fees for btech cse student for category 1 is 198000 and it goes up to category 5 with increament of 1 lakh with each increasing category and category is assign as per students rank in viteee exam. and caution deposite which is refundable is 3000 .there is no scholarship scheme in this college. And hostel fees also varies according to bed type and block type there are 2 types of block permium and non premium which have different fee structure for example my hostel fees for 3 bed flat permium block is 164250 with includind of caution deposite of 15000 which is refundable and for non premium block it is different from 20k approx
