The placements in my college are moderate but improving each year. The placement cell conducts aptitude training, coding practice sessions, resume building workshops, and mock interviews to help students prepare for recruitment. Every year several companies visit the campus for placements and offer roles in fields such as software development, core engineering, and technical support. On average, a good number of students from each batch get placed, especially those who maintain good academic performance and technical skills. The average salary package offered is around ?3–5 LPA, while some students receive higher packages depending on their skills and the company. Apart from campus placements, many students also apply for off-campus opportunities, internships, or choose to pursue higher studies such as M.Tech or MBA to improve their career prospects. As an Inetgrated student, I will be elegible for placements from my 7th sem. This inclues Intern only roles, Intern+PPO's and PPO's. The elegibility is usually 60% or 6.0 CGPA in all academics with no standing arrears. At VIT, placements and overall employability tend to be strong, though outcomes for biotechnology students are more modest compared to branches ike CSE or ECE. Across the institute;s 2025 pplacement drive, around 868 companies visited and a total of about 14044 job offers including dream, super dream and regular offers were extended. the highestpackage offered was 1 crore rupees per annum and for all Btech streams, the average package was roughly in the range of 8.99lpa to 9-a0 lpa. core biotech and pharma recruiters reportedly include companies like biocon and other banglore based biotech firms, offering roles as assistant research. After btech my plans would be to build a profile that helps in post graduate studies or in a specilized biotech jobs

The placement process at VIT ap is well organised and students usually become eligible for campus placements from the beginning of their 6th semester. Several companies visit the campus including both product and service based companies. Some well known recruiters are Infosys, TCS,Wipro, HCL, cognizant, IBM, deloitte. B.tech students will be eligible after they complete their credits before the 3rd year and usually that is the period during which they will be eligible for placements. For integrated M.tech it might be after the 4th year in 5th year,they could get a year for internships which is good for students. This might be considered as my interest in this course.The placement is around 95 percent.My plans after getting the degree is to become a highly skilled person and to get a job in google. Many companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Qualcomm, etc place our campus.There are no such companies that visited and made no offers.

VIT has a very good placement and the placement rate is 99.2%. the highest package is 1Cr. Which is better out of DTU, NSIT, VIT Vellore, BITS (any campus), NIT (top 3) and IIIT (Hyderabad and Delhi), placement-wise and education-wise?

On the basis of placements, I would rank the aforementioned institutes in the following order

Bits Pilani, Pilani Campus>|IT H>Bits Goa>Bits Hyderabad>Top 3 Nits>|IT Delhi/NSUT>DTU

BITS Pilani has a better placement scenario than IIIT Hyderabad although its average package is less than IIIT Hyderabad, this is because BITS has a number of branches and the average package is calculated after considering the packages of all branches whereas IIIT Hyderabad has only two branches ie CS and ECE. Both these branches are top branches so automatically its average package becomes higher than BITS Pilani. If you compare the placements of the CS branch alone, BITS Pilani will have the upper hand. However, if you want to pursue a career in research in CS, ten choosing IIIT Hyderabad will offer better opportunities. Basically, IIIT Hyderabad will make you a better coder whereas BITS Pilani will make you a better engineer.

It's important to note that the above ranking is based on placements alone and if you consider the research culture, then NITs will fare better than BITS mainly because they are government institutes and receive huge funds solely for the purpose of research.

If you have the required skill set, you can get interview calls from these companies. If you belong to some IIT, you will certainly have some advantage over the others.

Is Thapar University better than VIT placement-wise?

When placements are concerned, the better opportunities are secured by the student’s overall performance and rather than the college. But if I have to choose one among them, then I’d say Thapar receives better placement offers than VIT.

The number of students at VIT is greater than Thapar. So there is more competition for any particular job opportunity.
The number of companies visiting both campuses is almost equal.
The faculty at Thapar is highly educated and cooperative.
Students get enough industrial exposure through seminars, industrial visits, and internships.
Several mock group discussions and interview sessions are also conducted at Thapar to groom the students.
The college also has a lot of societies to improve the students’ soft skills.
It helps them in boosting their confidence and developing good communication skills.

The biggest factor is that a lot of companies visit Thapar and so it is easier to get a placement there. The placements are better in Thapar. But do remember that the placements completely depend on you and not the college. A lot of companies visit the college for placements but it is up to you the kind of effort that you wish to put in that will land you a job.

Among the above two options, IIIT Pune is the better choice, without doubt, considering several reasons such as fee structure, overcrowding, and the IIIT tag. One of my friends goes there, so I know a bit about the institute.

There is overcrowding at VIT Vellore, with almost 2300 students enrolled at CSE only in several categories. There is huge competition in VIT due to the number of students sitting in placement altogether. On the other hand, IIIT Pune has even fewer than 100 students in CSE, which is realistic and sensible for students to compete with each other.
In India, the tag of a government institute has its own value, which is a bitter truth in our country too. Along with that, the IIIT tag always has its own demand for placement in companies and higher opportunities.
The fee for IIIT Pune is always lesser than that of VIT Vellore, irrespective of the type of hostel chosen at VIT.

There are students who have joined VIT, left the institute due to overcrowding, and went to some other institute. Considering all the above factors, IIIT Pune is a definite choice.
