Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is as per the newest tech available in the market we get to know new technologies through curriculum Why this course -Since I wanted to learn about embedded system and microprocessors that's why I chose Internet of things as my specialization Improvement needed - by removing a little of theory curriculum should be more focused on practical learning Exam timings- exam happen nearly in every 40-45 days including non instructional days

Fees and Financial Aid

VIT offers 5 categories of fees varying on you VITEEE rank I scored 4k rank in the exam so got selected for category 3 in the counselling process for which the annual tuition fees is ~3L + hostel and mess fees Currently I am in 3 bed deluxe with special mess for which am paying 2L year sums up to 5L a year for category 2 But if someone is from category 1 he/she can complete their btech in around 16L And if someone is from category 5 their btech degree may cost upto 26L One of my friend is from category 1 + he got decent scholarship for scoring VITEEE rank less then 500 so he got 25%fees waiver! So his total composition for 4yrs degree is 12L After scholarship And another friend of mine is from category 4 as he got 16k rank so his degree is costing 22L Nearly 5.5L per year including accomodation But you can definitely make this cheaper by staying in 6 bed nonAC room with veg mess By which you can save nearly 1L per year So your total degree cost will reduce by 4L

Admission

Other than VIT I applied in MANIPAL and BITS Was not getting my preferred course BITS that's why didn't go there And MANIPAL is not that pocket friendly The admission process in VIT is pretty smooth after giving VITEEE result is announced after which counselling process starts in which we need to enter preference of cources , campuses , and fees categories

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio depends upon branch to branch my friend in civil is having 1:45 but for me CSE(IOT) it's 1:60 but that doesn't mean we cannot approach faculty Most of the faculties try their best to cater as much doubts as possible + we can reach out to faculties in their open hour that information is available on VIT Portal for student and app (VTOP and VITian) *Faculties I liked* For Calculus Mella cheruvu naga srinivasu is a v.good faculty as he teaches pretty well and gives good material and ref.books recommendation plus he's linient with attendance is a big thing For Engeneering chemistry - Dr Mausumi Goswami is very good as she accomodate the class beautifully and tell the concept with practical life examples PPTs given by her our good source for exam papers *Faculties I didn't like* For BEEE - Vinoth K he's a contractual faculty but very strict with attendance and quizzes plus the material he upload is not that great *EXAMS* In one semester 3 exams are held + quizzes and assignments depends teacher to teacher CAT-1 first exam of semester it's a 50 marks exam out of which 30 are evaluated this consist of first 3 modules which are very basic CAT-2 second exam same as CAT-1 for 50 marks but this is hard one as it is open book exam FAT or Final assessment test 100 marks exam out of which 40 are evaluated this consist of all the modules And difficulty level is moderate to tough Before FAT we have LAB-FAT for subjects with LABs Generally not much student fail in CAT's but in FAT students don't get passed this easily nearly 8/60 students fail!

Night Life

2

Night life - there is nothing called nightlife over here we cannot step out of hostel after 9:30pm The badminton court inside the hostel block is also accessible till 9pm But you can access library during nights till 12:30Am Timings - VIT is strict with timings for mens timings are 9:30pm and for women it's 8:30pm Hangout - for hanging out inside the campus you can go to foodcourt DC's , FC and canteens like darling canteen + PRP 209 In this widespread campus confectionery and Nescafe's stalls are set up throughout the campus Campus is totally safe !

Other Applied Colleges

Manipal Institute of Technology - [MIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Both the colleges are decently good but since I was not getting main campus of MIT so I chose VIT over Manipal and VIT offers huge range of courses for every interest with great exposure and brand value

Course Curriculum Overview:

The 1st year course consists of Enginnering Physics ,Chemistry , Basic Electrical and Electronics engineering, Calculus , Differential Equaltion and transformation, Electromagnetic Theory , Electrical Machines. Python language in 1st sem and java in 2nd sem. I choose this course as it provide a huge knowledge of Electrican and electronics both. Semiconductor Industry might get boon in the next few years. Till now the cirricilum is going smooth and the subjects gave a clear visualisation towards succes in the selected course. In the 1st year you will get hardly 1 to 1.5 months for every exam and there always DAs and quiz between the the time so it might get hectic sometimes but you can mange easily if you handle evrything with patience
