- Campus Life in Vit is simply magnificent.All types of facilities are provided inside the campus including sport complex and restaurants.The girls to boys ratio in Mechanical engineering is surprisinly high of about 1:7.
- The staff at VIT is cooperative and helping in daily doubts.The labs are well maintained with latest technologies and versions.VIT also provides student license to important softwares which are quite costly
- Hostel Life is great at VIT.The crowd here is well mannered,friendly and well educated which helps in increasing moral values.
Dislikes
- Freshers at VIT are restricted from going out of campus for the first sem.
- Student count at VIT is more than expected which results in unnecessary competition in every sector.
- The first year students at VIT are not allowed to take part in the events,clubs and chapters since the beginning and have to wait for the first sem to get over.This restricts us from achieving our goal and turns out to be a setback for some months.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum here is Industrial pattern consisting of practical base knowledge and less of theoretical knowledge which helps us in applications things rather than just learning the theory.Improvements in course are quite minimal and most of it is upto date.The method of teaching is quite systematic in every aspect.The difficulty level is quite moderate to difficult along with the duration of exams and frequency of exams.We are able to enjoy the events and fests along with the ongoing exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
VIT Vellore is one of the prestigious university to pursue education which would help me in my journey to achieve my dreams and goals.VIT Vellore has a fully flexible credit system which allows us to design our own timetable by choosing courses and faculty based on our interest and strength.Faculty at VIT is well qualified with many professors doctorates and having industry experience.The university is equipped with advanced labs and modern classrooms which helps us to understand and visualize everything easily.The fee structure at VIT Vellore consists of 5 categories depending upon the rank in VITEEE.I am currently persuing education in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering and I am alloted to Category 2 which is 3.04 Lakhs per annum which makes the course fee of about 12.16Lakhs for the entire program for 4 years.My batchmate belongs to Category 3 and has a fee structure of 2.04 Lakhs per annum.The medical faculty here is at best providing emergency ambulance and clinics working 24/7.
Campus Life
My campus experience is quite good since the college provides all facilities which are available at our hometown including sports and cultural facilities.The are more than 150 clubs in VIT VELLORE which allows us to indulge into various types of programs and expand our knowledge.The library is quite a place of wisdom with more than 10000 books.The college spends a significant amount of money on books and knowledge expansions.Sport facilities are quite great with frequent competitions and events for students in different sports and also consists of 5-6 auditorium for cultural events.VIT Vellore has its own teams participating in different competitions at both national and international level and many social groups promoting clean India and Anti Ragging association.
Admission
VIT Vellore is one of the most popular and well famous college in terms of education and development.I applied for Bits Pilani and college affiliated to Jee Mains.I had confirmed admissions in State colleges but the network which VIT would provide me will be of quite importance in my life in terms of placements and jobs.I tried but missed a chance to get admission in BITS Goa but due to some mistakes I was not able to guruantee myself a seat in my favourite branch in BITS Goa.The admission process at VIT is quite well operated with everything done through online system to avoid malpractices through offline mode.Exams are conducted all over India at different centres.The name of entrance examination is VITEEE and the exam is out of 130 marks and getting 90 marks and above will easily secure a good branch in VELLORE Campus.
Faculty
The faculty members here at VIT are quite good natured and helping in studies.Every professor here is well qualified and doctorates from different world renown universities.Some of them are even from top IIT's like Bombay, Kharagpur,Kanpur etc Every faculty is alloted almost 4 classes having about 70 students in each class.There is 1 faculty member for each subject where the number of subjects are 4 for theories and 2 labs.The lab assistants are also quite helpful in lab related issues.One of my favourite faculty member here is Engineering Design and Visualization professor.One of the best among all out there.He is quite patient and helpful in every aspect.There are in total 4 Quiz, 2 Continuous Assessment Test and 1 Final Assessment Test including daily assignments.The course is quite industrial pattern which helps us in every perspective developing and learning the new things happening in the world.
