Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose chemical engineering as per my vision for future, the energy industry will never go down and will rise with time. And being a chemical engineer you can get into different industries like pharmaceutical, petrochemical, electrochemical etc. It is really a challenging course actually and will teach you how for the real world problems. Teachers are good, the only problem we face is with the language. As many of them are tamilian teachers, so sometimes we face problems. Otherwise everything is good. And there are two internal exams called as CAT1 AND CAT2 and two quizzes. And two Digital Assignments for theory and 10 DAs for lab.You get 60 percentage from your internals and the final exam alone takes 40 percentage of the total. Mostly every month is hectic.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are many companies that come for internships and if you get a good internship under any company most probably will get a PPO from them like Honeywell pidilite came for a chemical engineering branch other than that many companies come which take chemical branches as well under them if you know good coding you can get into other companies as well. I was selected for pidilite company so the the stipend was about 40000 per month for 6 months duration. Right now I am doing one project under my faculty the name of the project is lysosomes in water. And the previous project I did was my another faculty which was about fuel cells for the company Honeywell.

Placement Experience

5

From fixed semester onwards you can avail a good internships from college the CDC department will keep on sending you emails regarding the placement and internship offers. College placement is very nice as there are many companies visiting our college and the highest package we got was 1.2 crore. And every time we get lots of offer and mostly it's 100% placement in our college. They give us training before placement season starts. They teach us coding even if you are from a non coding background they will teach you so that you can sit for coding companies as well. My plans after getting the degree will be getting a good placement from college only. And also the average placement is 10 lacs per year. And I think this is quite good as a private University

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees is based on your rank and branch. According to your branch the fees increases and decreases and talking about the complete cost of my education it will be around 12 to 15 lakhs including everything hostel mess food etc my expensories everything it will be around 15 lakhs and scholarship is given to the top 1000 ranks in VITEEE examination. That also if you continue to get good marks. And if you get a backlog in between the course then they will stop giving you scholarship. Other than that the toppers after every sem get a scholarship along with the certificate. That's scholarship is around thousand rupees but if you get a good score in VITEEE examination you get a good scholarship of amount 50000 Rs. The hostel fees is higher but the course fees is not that high if you have a good rank in VITEEE other than that the course fees not that much but hostel fees and Mess's fees is like very high.

Campus Life

5

There are two big events that are held in our college. One is a technical fest called gravitas and another one is called Rivera which is a cultural event. There are like more than 150 clubs and chapters in our college and everyone gets opportunity to get into the club. Library is very big and you can utilise the library anytime you want and you can borrow books also. We have night library facility as well where you can go to the library and come back at one in the night. There are many NGOs run by the student and there are many chapters which are linked with big companies like AICHE, IICHE, SPE , E-CELL. etc college gives a good opportunity for those who want to start their startups from now. Overall the technical knowledge in a classroom as well as the social knowledge outside the classroom is very good and you get a good opportunity if you have a good communication skill. Also if you are an introvert and you don't have friends just join a club and you will get lot of friends.

Hostel Facilities

4

We have two different types of hostel rooms. The hostel in which I stay is one bedded and quite big and we have ac, fan, one cupboard, one bed, one chair ,one study table ,one mirror and one space to hang your clothes. Miss food is actually very nice we have four different types of mess veg, non veg, special and paid mess. We get buffet to take our food. And you can get South Indian as well as not Indian food there every time. We get breakfast lunch snacks and dinner and you can get coffee tea juice everything there. Hostel prices are quite high. And in hostel we get a laundry services also. As a girl you cannot go and rent a room or PG outside as they will ask for the affidavit in the beginning of the admission where they state that you cannot go and stay outside if you are not a local resident. As a outsider you have to stay only inside the hostel but the hostel rules are very strict.

Admission

To get into VIT you need to appear for the entrance exam called VITEEE, the application form can be found in their official website and according to your rank in the exam you get to choose the branch you want to study. The difficulty of the exam is avarage, if you're preparing for jee, then that's enough to crack a good rank in VITEEE. But the allotment process is a chaos as they don't really mention on what basis they're taking you in that branch. Sometimes people with lower rank get good branches whereas people with higher rank get lower branches. The admission process should be transparent and everyone should get to know on what basis they're alloting you to that particular branch.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
