- Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

Placements are decent and like every other college, the average and median packages are effected for the 2019-21 batch. The Highest package is at 21 lpa and average and median package is around 12 lpa. Students are eligible for placements at the end of 3rd semester. As per now all the students got placed and my plans after getting the degree would be working in the corporate and gain experience.

In terms of faculty-student ratio, it is 1:10. which is one of the best among IIT's. Most of the teachers have teaching experience of more than 20 years and have a research experience. They have also been part of various consulting project. There are seven term exams and 4 semester. The final marks are given by taking into consideration of all the other activities such as presentations, quizzes and all the assignments.

I choose this college because this is one of the best colleges and universities in the overall world which provide very fine knowledge with best teachers as I want to do B.tech in CSE yes it is very hard to Crack JEE- Main but like me, if you also work hard you will also crack it easily. pros- one of the best research institutes in India, great faculty, very good facilities given to the students in all arenas , tuition fees in iits for masters (especially MS) is very less compared to other good colleges like IIIT Hyderabad/Delhi/Bangalore ,great placement opportunities almost 100% placement for CSEcons- some times the course structure might be more research oriented (theoritical) and not application based , some professors are really not upto the mark here too so be wise while choosing your guide

IIT Madras provides very good facilities for research work. The placement scenario is also good. It also opens a door towards further research field. It's possible to get an industry level exposure in this institution from laboratory aspects. It's also ranked as 1 in NIRF Ranking in India.

The reason for choosing IIT-M is obviously its top position among the prestigious IITs of our country.The institute has various national-international accreditations and stands 1st for BTech program in 2020 rankings of NIRF. To get admission at IIT Madras is not easy because the allocation of seats is totally based on JEE score of applicants in the JOSAA counselling

IIT Madras is the first IIT of India to offer a management program. It offers the students MBA program to make them entrepreneurs who bring new norms in business world. UG degree with 50% marks followed by CAT score, PI etc are required for the admission.

Most of the students don't have a fair idea about which field they want to pursue. The selection of top colleges is mainly done on the basis of one's rank. I preferred choosing an old IIT, because of the reputation they hold which provides in more opportunities in terms of placements and learning across other domains. IIT Madras, old IITs for that matter have a very engaging student body activities which allows one to grow not only academically but even otherwise. One of the key aspects that is missed out while selecting the college is the growth in your personality that will take place. The amount of freedom that you will get and amount of opportunities that you will get (other than your chosen academic domain) should also be one of the key criteria's.

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.
The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.
Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.
