Academic Requirement:

The minimum academic qualification for admission to the programs is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination (mentioned below). The candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and any one of Chemistry/Bio-technology/Computer Science/Biology. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2024 are also eligible to apply for consideration of provisional admission. All candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 examination or equivalent) to the Institute latest by 30 October 2024, failing which the provisional admission will stand, cancelled.
If a candidate is found ineligible at a later date, even after admission to DA-IICT, her/his admission will be cancelled. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original testimonials/certificates/documents of the candidates. The decision of the competent authority at DA-IICT regarding eligibility of any candidate shall be final.

Selection Criteria:

Admission to the B. Tech. programs will be based on the All India Rank of Joint Entrance Examination 2024 (JEE-2024) Main, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency, Government of India. Therefore, candidates who are appearing for JEE 2024 Main can only apply for these programs.

Gujarat Category: ACPC will follow its own policy in this regard.

Academic Requirement:

Candidates must have passed or must be appearing in the year of application the qualifying examination, i.e., XII standard or equivalent from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian University (AIU), New Delhi in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Computer Science/Biotechnology/ Biology and must have secured a minimum GPA of 6 on a 10-point scale, if grades are awarded. In case marks are awarded, candidates must have secured minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Computer Science /Biotechnology/Biology of the qualifying examination.

Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in the year of admission will be considered for provisional admission based on the submission of transcripts of their 11th standard and the first semester of their 12th standard (if issued) duly certified by their school authorities. All such candidates will be required to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination (XII standard or equivalent) latest by 30th October 2024 failing which the admission will stand cancelled.

Selection Criteria:

Those who meet the eligibility criteria as pronounced above.
Those who have secured in their X and XII Board final examinations separately an aggregate minimum GPA of 7 on a 10-point scale or 70% aggregate minimum marks in Physics and Mathematics. Having SAT-I/SAT II/JEE score is advantageous.OR SAT-I (Literacy and Numeracy Assessment) OR SAT II (Mathematics I/II and Physics with a minimum score of 1068. OR xAll India Rank of Joint Entrance Examination 2024(JEE-2024) Main conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), Government of India with a minimum score of 75 percentile.

The price is increasing every year. Overall 260000 yearly is fees for 2027 batch Overall 320000 yearly is fees for 2028 batch. (Excluding food) For students having good pointers scholarship is there. For students with low family income, there are reliance scholarship and other government schemes which can be taken.

It is extremely difficult to get/maintain 8+ GPA as faculties are really strict while submitting grades.
Curriculum is very strict. The courses taught by the professors sometimes are too advanced and complex to understand.

I am a resident of Surat, and SVNIT is very close to my house. During my college admissions, I was in the same dilemma. So I spent about a week at both the colleges to make a more informed choice.

One of the professors at SVNIT suggested that I opt for B.Tech ICT at DAIICT over Computer Engineering at SVNIT. He told me that DAIICT is a better option for computer related branches. Here are some pros of joining DAIICT as a B.Tech ICT student-

The placements at DAIICT are comparatively better.
Though the NITs have an established brand name, the reputation of DAIICT is better than SVNIT in top companies like Amazon, Morgan Stanley, MAQ, etc.
It has a greater number of GSoC qualifiers, and a better environment for Open Source Coding.
The environment is superior for competitive coding as well, and students participate in great numbers in online programming contests on platforms like codeforces, etc.
A large number of students prepare for exams like GRE, CAT, etc.

Thus, a B.Tech ICT at DAIICT is better in comparison to Computer Engineering at SVNIT.

According to my friends at DAIICT, it is definitely a better choice among the two. Considering factors like placement, brand reputation, and coding culture.

The points below give a brief overview of some of the advantages of choosing DAIICT over SVNIT.

According to some professors of SVNIT itself, DAIICT is a better institute for CSE and IT, compared to SVNIT.
The overall placement statistics of DAIICT are far better than that in SVNIT, with more high-paying jobs offered in the institute.
DAIICT doesn’t have as good a reputation as NITs in India. But, in companies like Amazon, MAQ, Morgan Stanley, etc, DAIICT has a far better reputation than SVNIT.
There is an excellent open-source coding environment in DAIICT.
The number of GSoC entries from both institutes makes it evident that DAIICT has much more success in open-source contribution.
