NIT Raipur admission to 41 courses at the UG, PG, and doctorate levels is conducted through national-level entrance examinations. At the UG Level, the institute offers BTech and BArch programs for the duration of 4 and 5 years respectively. Admission to both UG programs is based on JEE Main scores and JoSAA counseling. The eligible students should register for the JoSAA counseling for their seat allocation after the result declaration of JEE Main exam. Usually, JOSAA counseling for B.Tech admissions takes place in the month of July/ August.The total course fee for the NIT Raipur B.Tech program is INR 5.52 Lakhs. NIT Raipur also offers admission to PG courses such M.Tech, and M.CA in Applied Geology. NIT Raipur B.Tech Eligibility and Selection Criteria
For NIT Raipur B.Tech admission candidates must hold following eligibility conditions:
- Candidates have to clear the JEE Main examination for NIT Raipur admission in B.Tech.
- 10+2 (PCM Stream) passing certificate.
- The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will regulate the seat allocation for NIT Raipur admission.
- With valid JEE Main or equivalent entrance examination score, a merit list shall be made category-wise, listing All India Rank (AIR) of candidates.
- Based on the rank secured, candidates are required to appear in JoSAA Counselling rounds as per their category.

- Admission to Undergraduate Architecture Programs at NITs shall be based on the ranks in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main).
- For joining NIT Raipur B.Arch, candidates must write Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT).
- Class 12 passing certificate.
- The candidates with valid JEE Main or equivalent entrance examination score, a merit list shall be made category-wise, listing All India Rank (AIR) of candidates.
- Candidates who have cleared JEE Main will be allowed to appear for the AAT. Based on the AAT score, the final admission list is prepared.
How to Apply?
Candidates having a valid JEE Main score have to visit the official website of AAT and register online. For logging at AAT, JEE Main Registration Number, Date of Birth, and Password are required. Fill out the registration form and submit the required list of documents online. The application form is considered successful only after submission of the application fee through credit card, debit card or net banking.

NIT Raipur M.Tech programme is offered in 10 specializations. The program is offered in full time regular mode for 2 years, except M.Tech in Applied Geology which is of 3 years duration. As a basic eligibility, candidates should have appeared for B.E./B.Tech in graduation.

NIT Raipur MTech Eligibility and Selection Criteria
- The candidates must have a GATE score of the past 3 years.
- They should have secured 6.5 CGPA or 60% (55% for reserved categories) for general category in their Bachelor’s degree from any recognized college.
- The CCMT regulates the joint seat allocation for NIT Raipur admission in M.Tech.
- The candidates having GATE score will be given preference.

- Register for the GATE exam through the Online Application form.
- Enter personal login with the unique ID and password and enter personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents’ name, parents’ mobile number, etc.).

NIT Raipur MCA Eligibility and Selection Criteria
- The candidates should have appeared for NIMCET.
- The candidates should have Bachelor’s degree with 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA of full time 3 years duration from a recognized University with Mathematics / Statistics / Business Maths as one of the subjects in any one semester/year.
- NIMCET is a national level exam conducted for MCA admission and with the cut off given, the candidates are selected.
- The Preference will be given to the candidate who has obtained a higher NIMCET score.
- Seat will be allotted online based on the choice and rank in NIMCET.
NIT Raipur MCA Admission: How to Apply?
- Candidates need to login in at NIT Raipur interface for provisional admission through their NIMCET Hall Ticket Number, Date of Birth and Mobile No.

NIT Raipur PhD Eligibility and Selection Criteria
- The candidates should have a Master's degree in Engineering/Technology/Science /Architecture/Planning/ Humanities and Social Sciences or any other equivalent qualification recognized by the institute.
- Minimum 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA/CPI at Master’s degree is essential for NIT Raipur admission in PhD program
- A relaxation of 5%marks may be allowed for those candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC (Non Creamy Layer), Differently Abled category.
- There is no age limit for NIT Raipur PhD admission
- Candidates recommended by the Department Selection Committee will be called by the Heads of Department to appear for an interview.
- Based on the academic records and the performance of the candidates in the interview and test, the departmental selection committee will recommend the names of candidates found suitable for NIT Raipur admission to PhD programme.
- As eligibility to appear for interview, for OC/OBC/EWS, a cut-off mark is set at 50% of the maximum marks scored in the written examination department and 45% for SC/ST/PH.
- UGC/CSIR(JRF)/NET/Teacherfellowshipholder/MPhil qualified candidates need not appear in written entrance examination.Therefore,all such candidates will be called directly for online interview subject to their eligibility.
NIT Raipur PhD Admission: How to Apply?
Candidates are required to download and fill the application form and deposit the requisite application fee* online. Ans. NIT Raipur provides you with a three-year full-time Ph.D. research program. Candidates applying for this course must hold a master’s degree from a recognized Institute/University with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. Acceptance in the Ph.D. program will be on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the Entrance Exam/ Personal Interview conducted by the Institute.
Ques. What is Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF)? Will it be adjusted with the allotted institute fee?
Ans. If any seat is allotted candidate will be required to deposit 30,000/- (for GEN OBC/GEN-EWS) and 10.000/- (for SC/ST/PwD) towards Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) and then upload the required documents and submit willingness as per the procedure of information brochure The SAF will later be adjusted in total fee of respective allotted institute.
Ques. I don't have the OBC-NCH/EWS certificate issued on or after April 01, 2020, which is required by CCMT. What should I do?
Ans. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the OBC certificate issued on or after April 1, 2019 will be accepted during online document verification, however, admission offered, if any, will be provisional, and subject to submission of OBC-NCL/EWS certificate issued on or after April 1, 2020 at the time of physical reporting in the finally allotted institute. In such cases, the candidate is required to upload the undertaking along with the old OBC-NCL / EWS certificate.
Ques. EWS / OBC-NCL Certificate is issued before April 2019 and currently the country is facing lockdown. What should I do now?
Ans. You can upload an affidavit on stamp paper (format available in "Certificates" on the homepage of the website), along with the old EWS / OBC-NCL certificate. Even if your old OBC-NCL/EWS certificate has been lost/ not available then also you can upload this affidavit. In both the cases, the candidate must obtain the latest OBC-NCL/ EWS certificate and produce at the time of physical reporting in the allotted institute.
Ques. How many choices of programmes can I apply at NIT Raipur?
Ans. You are free to opt for as many choices as you wish to choose from the list of eligible PIs and programs. The online system of choice filling has been designed to display ONLY those choices to candidates for which they are eligible, as per the eligibility degree, discipline, GATE paper and GATE score.
Ques. My qualifying degree is B.Tech. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. Can I select B.Tech. in Electronics and Instrumentation or B.Tech. in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering?
Ans. No, you must NOT select any other degree even if they look similar. If you fail to produce the qualifying degree as mentioned by you in CCMT website, your seat may be cancelled. It may be noted that the qualifying degrees are mapped to the individual Master's Program of each PI.

- Placements, good for core & non-core branches. The CP, Hackathon Culture is just amazing almsot everytime you'll find students discussing about making teams for a particular hackathon or discussing strategies for case study competitions.
- The amazing alumni network in reputated companies allows college to get continuous placements & internship opportunities on campus.
Dislikes
- Primitive thinking of staffs, professors & hostel wardens, there is barricading for boys & girls even for music concert events. You cannot roam around with your friends of different gender, professors keep an eye on you.
- There is a reserved seats for professors, even on music events which is like 1st to the stage and students are kept behind them way far struggling in crowds.
Admission:
Some major points where NIT Raipur stands out over the other colleges. It's Placements, being an NIT it's decent enough for anyone choosing a college in a peaceful and affordable city like Raipur. It's Alumni connections, that make the college foundation really strong. The Student Culture is really good for personal growth, for someone who is still figuring out his/her career NIT RR could be a really good college for them. The Hackathons and CP Culture are awesome Almost in every competition on Unstop, HackerEarth, Case Study competition, Codechef, and Codeforces there is at least 1 winner or a finalist from NIT Raipur. Admission process is same as prescribed by Jossaa same as other NITs.

- ...The seniors are quite good ...the ragging is negligible here..
- The club and committee for different ECA are quite active
Dislikes
- The Faculties are a bit good some HODs are well experienced..but few new PhD scholars seemed inexperienced
- The infrastructure is also both good and weaker at some points ...like the sports and clubs committee infra has a loop ..even classes of full size of 115 are not capable and are divided into sections..so the infrastructure is not good
Admission:
The admission to the college was through jossa counselling..I got admitted based on my jee mains score ...being a NIT the college is good but has a lot to improve ...compared to several other nits it is not compatible to them ...the infrastructure is a big Red Flag ...else things are good here ...

- Hostel facility is big problem, there are no enough hostels for all the students in NIT raipur some has to stay out of campus

- The outdoor activities and events which college groups organise.
- Also live projects and practicals was good.
Dislikes
- Canteen facilities was not upto the mark.
- Space is sufficient but hostel was not built for all students.
Admission:
I have chosen it because it is near my home town and also the best in my state. Also, nirf's ranking is good and the best placement policy is there. they provide quality education and also because of my home State quota, I got a good department there.

- Academics and Collage campus is quite good
- It's location, it is in the middle of city raipur and it's heavenly, other colleges are in somewhere village it's in middle of the city and you can bring your bike
Dislikes
- Campus size is small compared to other nits ( it's only 100 acres )
- There is not enough hostel seats to accommodate all the students you have to live outside the campus

I applied for all the above nits and didn't got the seat this college I got because of my home state and the cut-off you can check it on jossa and csab websites , obviously you get this college by writing jee . And the admission process is very smooth they make sure if you got the seat you will get admission.

- The college life here is so cool.You can explore many new things in college like clubs,sports,library,campus.

- The most disappointing aspect here is teaching.The professors for 1st year don't have teaching skills.So it's hard to cope up with them.

*I didn't opted for other colleges though I had cleared comedk ,mhtcet, cgpet, viteee, uni-guage and many other exams because this college is the best among them. *NIT RAIPUR is a central institute which is very promising, providing best placements.So,it was never an option for me but it was only choice for me.

i wrote JEE exam and i wanted to join only ECE,CSE,IT branches so i selected the top nits,iits . Then i got this college to my preference ,because my rank is bit low my other preferences got rejected.The admission is somewhat problematic because it will take a whole day for collge admission and hostel admission if you are eligible to hostel.

- the main thing i disliked is hostel accomodation which is not available to every student but only some students
- and now coming to campus area campus is very small compared to any other nit or iits It is so disappointing for a nit

actually as i said i didnt choose this college at start i got this college as one and only option in counselling but i tried for vit vellore but didnt get the chance to make it there but this college is also nice compared to vit in some aspects.

I am currently pursuing 1st year B.tech (CSE) in NIT Raipur. Can I give JEE Mains next year and take admission in another NIT or IIIT?
Yes, you can surely attempt your JEE Mains/Advanced/BITS. Many students do the same. There are (and have been) at least 1 or 2 such students in every batch of NIT Raipur.
But I would advise you not to opt for just any other NIT. Choose an NIT which is at least 5-6 ranks above NIT Raipur. Otherwise, switching to another NIT will prove ineffective. The same goes for IIITs, choose only the old ones.
This is because NIT Raipur offers decent placements for CSE, at par with the NITs of the same stature. So wasting a year for NIT Jamshedpur or NIT Durgapur will be fruitless. If you go for JEE counseling, you’ll have to withdraw from your NIT Raipur seat first. To be on the safe side, go for the counseling only with a score high enough to get you CSE in a better ranking NIT. Otherwise, you might get NIT Raipur once again. This has happened with students in the past.

The total course fee of Master of Computer Applications [M.C.A] program is INR 2.49 Lakhs. The institute follows yearly fee pattern that means one need to pay INR 83,000 per annum.
