An Honest Insight into Life at My College

Likes

The college focuses more on practical and project-oriented learning rather than only theory. Regular lab sessions, hackathons, and technical events help students apply concepts in real-world scenarios and improve problem-solving and teamwork skills.
There are multiple technical and cultural events conducted throughout the year which keeps campus life active. Hackathon culture is encouraged, and students get exposure to competitions, coding events, and innovation-based activities beyond academics
Faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive as mentors. The marking scheme is comparatively easy, which helps students score well if they attend classes and complete assignments regularly. Placements are decent and the training and placement cel

Dislikes

The student intake is very high, which results in overcrowded classrooms and labs. Because of this, personal attention from faculty becomes limited and managing large batches becomes difficult during practical sessions.
The campus area is very small and the surrounding locality is not well developed. There are limited open spaces and recreational areas, which reduces the overall campus experience and makes it feel congested.
Canteen facilities are not very good in terms of quality and variety of food. Also, many exams are conducted in online mode, which sometimes creates technical issues and does not always feel reliable or well managed.

Admission:

I picked my college after looking at lots of things like what people think of it and what courses they offer. I also thought about what I want to study and what kind of job I want later. I applied to some good colleges like COEP Technological University VJTI Mumbai and PICT Pune. Vishwakarma Institute of Technology Pune was also one of my choices. When I got my MHT-CET results I scored 98.48 percentile. I really wanted to study Computer Science. So when I got into VIT Pune I was very happy because they have a Computer Science program. I got confirmed admission at VIT Pune which was great for me because I wanted to study Computer Science at a college, like VIT Pune. I really wanted to get into COEP and VJTI because they're great schools with a lot of focus on coding and good job placement.. The problem was that the cutoff scores for Computer Science at COEP and VJTI were really high. With my score I could only get into COEP and VJTI if I chose a -technical subject, which did not make sense for me because I want to study Computer Science. What happened was that a lot of students wanted to study Computer Science at COEP and VJTI so the cutoff scores went up. This made it hard for me to get into the Computer Science program, at COEP and VJTI. I liked VIT Pune more than options like PCCOE and Walchand College. The reason for this is that VIT Pune has a curriculum that is focused on projects. They also have a syllabus that is updated.. Students at VIT Pune have more freedom to work on things like hackathons and innovation-based projects and technical events. I think it is great that VIT Pune focuses on learning by doing things. They also keep evaluating students all the time. This is what made me choose VIT Pune over colleges, like PCCOE and Walchand College. The fact that VIT Pune emphasizes learning and has continuous evaluation really influenced my decision to prefer VIT Pune. My college has a way of picking students. We have to follow the rules made by the Maharas

VIT Pune: Balanced Academics, Good Placements & Active Campus Life.

Likes

The collage has strong acadamics with well structured curriculum and consistently good placement opportunities, especially for core engineering and IT related roles.
Campus life is active with various technical, cultural and social clubs that help students interact build networks and develop confidence beyond acadamics
Most Faculty members are knowledgeable and experinced and many are approachable for guidance , doubt solving and mentorship related to academic and careers

Dislikes

the academic schedule can feel hectic at times with frequent submissions , exams and attendence
the fees are comparatively high for general category students, especially when added with yearly increments and other compulsory charges
some facilities like hostels and canteen services could be improved to better handle the large number of students on campus

Admission:

i applied to collages like COEP,PICT, PCCOE and Vit pube through CAP rounds. i got confirmed admission at vit pune and chose it for its strong academics , good placements, and infrastructure. i missed other collages due to higher cut-offs in my preffered beanch. Admission is through MHT-CET or JEE Min via CAP and the process was smooth and transparent

Teachers are helpful and explain topics in simple way
Campus is clean and peaceful. Labs and classrooms are good and useful for learning.
College life is decent. There are events, fests, and activities which make college enjoyable.

Dislikes

Some classrooms need better fans and lights. Small improvements can make it better.
Canteen food options are limited and can be improved.
Sometimes timetable changes suddenly, which can be confusing.

Admission:

I chose this college because it offers good education, decent campus, and affordable fees compared to other colleges. I had applied to a few other colleges, but due to high cutoffs and higher fees, I could not get admission there. This college gave me admission easily and the process was smooth and simple. The staff helped properly during admission and explained everything clearly. Admission is based on entrance exam score and eligibility marks, and the cutoff is moderate. Overall, the admission process was easy, quick, and stress free, which made me choose this college.

A well rounded engineering experience at VIT pune.

Likes

The environment of my college is very good. There are many opportunitites to explore.
Good and supportive faculty, we are encouraged a lot to write and publish research papers, patents, and make good innovative projects.
There are many clubs, events, and fests to socialise and make connections.

Dislikes

The infrastructure could be a bit better, like the ground and canteens.

Admission:

i chose VIT PUNE because of its good academic reputation. It is autonomous and has a good placement record. The admission process for this college is through CAP round. i got in through my MHT-cet score, which was 92%. I was going to join MKSS cummins, but the cutoff was very high due to which i couldnt get in. The cutoffs are relatively high for popular branches like cse. The admission process was smooth. The college provided proper guidance and the process was well organised.

The Syllabus is good compared to other colleges.
College timing is also very les like 16 hr per week (for SY)

It has a very huge intake so it might be difficult at the time of placement
the campus is very small compared to intake

I have applied for COEP, VJTI, SPIT , PICT and VIT . But as my CET score was low I got admission in VIT. Mostly the cutoff of VIT is 98.5 for OPEN category . As my pecentile was 98.41 I could not secure admission in the other applied colleges

VIT pune - The turning moment

Likes

There is application based learning and various hackathons are organised.
The faculty members are good and very supportive.
Various clubs are available to join for student and participate (both technical and non technical).

Dislikes

The campus is too short and there is also issues regarding vehicle parking
There is too much crowd which results in higher competition.
The Canteen of VIT is not that good and expected.

Admission:

I applied for PICT college but I was unable to make it and the eligible criteria for my college is more than 98%ile , Exams like MHTCET and jee were considered for admission process. There were so many students like thousands of student applied for this college.

Likes

College wifi is good in kondhwa campus and library is also decent with enough books. Campus is quiet beautifull with enough trees and that's why it feels somewhat good.

Dislikes

Campus is so small and that's why the overcrowding is main issue and causes irritation and frustration among students

Admission:

I preferred this college on top of other colleges as this was the best college available at my CET percentile and along with that I wanted to go in the field of statistics and data science and I found that course here that's why I opted for this college. Also VIT, Pune offers decent placements that's why I think I made a good decision by choosing this college.
