Course Curriculum Overview
i would say the curriculum is quite relevant to the industry requirements and comprehensive. One of the main reason i chose instrumentation was the balanced focus on core engineering subjects along with practical labs , projects etc. The exam pattern includes one course project per subject. MDM courses and two written papers during endsem, as well as viva, and one major project for the course "Engineering Design Innovation".
Internships Opportunities
Vit provides good internship ooppurtunoties for students through its placement and training cell. the faculty provides good guidance and is quite helpful. Many companies offer internships every year in technical as well as non technical roles. for core branches students get internships in automation companies.
Placement Experience
The college has a good placement scenario for almost all branches. Students become eligible for placement 7th semester onwards. The college has a dedicated training and placement cell which conducts regular aptitude training, technical sessions , mock interviews, and resume workshops to help us. The companies that visit our campus are TCS, infosys, accenture, capegimini, honeywell, deloitte, amazon, microsoft. The highest package yet is of 45 lpa, the median package of 10 lpa. The college has a 86.3% placement rate.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees im paying is 30k per year. Im OBC and due to girls concession my fees is that much only. My batchmates who are general or admitted through spot round, they are paying full fees that is 2 lakh per year.
Campus Life
Our college has an amazing campus life. Multiple events happen throughout the year like VISHWAKARANDAK, VISHWOTSAV, CRESCENDO. They include music , dance , drama, along with many fun events. its usually held around march-april or the year end. The library is equipped with a wide range of books for each department. students can easily access these books as well as digitial material.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are hot water geyser which is on till 11 am. There is a hangout lobby with multiple games like table tennis, foosball, chess, ludo etc. Theres filtered drinking water and a generator backup. Hostel meals are decent, eatable. The menu is different each week. the hostel fees are 1 lakh for double sharing room, and 80k for triple sharing, 70k for 4 sharing.
Admission
i chose VIT PUNE because of its good academic reputation. It is autonomous and has a good placement record. The admission process for this college is through CAP round. i got in through my MHT-cet score, which was 92%. I was going to join MKSS cummins, but the cutoff was very high due to which i couldnt get in. The cutoffs are relatively high for popular branches like cse. The admission process was smooth. The college provided proper guidance and the process was well organised.
Faculty
For each department i would say there are 10 to 15 teachers. An HOD for each department. My branch has three divsions with 65 students per division. There are two exams midsem and endsem, for endsem we have two written papers and rest are online MCQ based. We have project presentations, viva. we are supposed to make one projject per course that we have.
Night Life
The nightlife at vit is fairly calm but its fun. There are many cafeterias inside the college. a fruit canteen which sells all kinds of juices and shakes. inside the campus academic buildings and libraries close by evening and hostels have fixed in time rules for students. Hostel in time is 9:30. The locality isnt that safe to roam around at night i would say.
