What Students Say
Likes
- There is a friendly (not everyone) and supportive. staff
- Good students and have great knowledge about their feild.
- If you are willing to get a job they have a dedicated office and staff for that with which you have great chance of getting one.
Dislikes
- Cumpus is too small and if you are a sport freak there is no space for that
- Fees too high as compared to a campus and other facilities provided.
- Exam staffs are very rude and consider students as there slave and scold you at mere mistake.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have selected this course as of liking and it is a really difficult to perform a job in real world. As it has more of the feild work instead of office and sometimes you have to work in furnance with extremely high temperature. It have more of the field experience other than a books as you have to work on the ground. Exams are not so difficult if you have practiced it and the curriculum is also work based instead of books.
Internships Opportunities
As I have not done any internship so can't say much about it but as of my friend's experience it has stipend if you are having one in huge company. But for some small Companies they will consider it on your job you so there if it is feild they will pay. Other than that like computer or work from home thing have no stipend.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible to apply for placement is after 2 year or at 5th semester. And companies that have visited are Morgan Stanley, TCS, JP Morgan, etc. and many others. Basic package is about 7 lacs per annum which I consider as okay for freshers. And the student which got highest is 26 lac per annum as he was one of the brightest student of the college. I think 50 to 60 percent students get placed more or less maximum are low package students. My plans are different than doing job so not applied at any of the job.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no merit cum scholarships, just government based scholarships are there. For any student loan you can apply it from another outside option. I have paid full fees which includes ?188000/- and have not been eligible for any government based scholarships. If you are SC/ST you will have to play approx. ?9000/- and other than that you will get ?20000/- from the government after 1st semester. If you are OBC or General low income student fees is approx. ?100000/- and will get around ?10000/- from the government after 1 semester.
Campus Life
There are two mega event are held in college one is Vishwotsav and other is Vishwakarandak. Vishwotsav is more oriented towards dance and music thing and even has dress code at the event and is held in april. Vishwakarandak is more oriented towards sports and even you can participate in that by paying small amount between 50 to 100. There is 1 floor dedicated for library and and has many journals and projects which are one of the best. At classrooms there are just smartboards in name of technology and others are common table and chairs. There are approx. 100 clubs in the college in differnt aspects which I consider one of the best thing. And other than that much more supportive colleagues at college.
Admission
I have chosen this college as it was on my list. As I got 93%ile in the MHTCET so there is no best college at this point at my time and was preparing for COEP but as it have high cutoff for that reason I have to get admission in this one and was not so bad as well. As of admission process it was also smooth and you have to available at the college at time of admission.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is approx 1:10 I think. Rajesh sir as he always think of there student as their own child and help you grow going out of the box and his course which is very much of a help in this college life. Ganesh sir as he don't even try to cooperate even when he is wrong sometimes and always scold their student now and then. Exams are not too difficult and it is more knowledge and work oriented instead of writing papers.
Interview Experience
Some of my topics of GD are use of IOT in military, recent use of propulsion motors in ISRO, etc. Also I have not attended any interview test so don't know about that. Criteria of admission are 80%+ on boards and percentile are changing every year so if your are lucky and belong in that criteria than you can apply.
Night Life
At college there is 1 gym, 3 cafeteria, 1 library, and many other facilities as well from which library and gym is free for use. 10pm is the closing time of the college campus after that you are not allowed to enter the campus. Outside the college the area is safe but not the safest. And for famous thing you can consider googling that and for the information it is the pune city.
