- College campus, it is big, not much conjusted, good nature friendly
- Freedom upto some level, no uniforms, no ID compulsion unless it is an exam
- Events,every now and then there are events in college, cultural club is also too good here👍
Dislikes
- Faculty is not much well qualified or well trained I would say
- Hectic curriculum, boring schedules and quite unlivable
- Labs and classrooms are too old, infrastructure is very old
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is quite old fashioned More theory is taught than practicals which is more essential to a good engineering student. Hands on experience lacks in this curriculum. For real world applications this curriculum helps very very less , it is dumb tbh. Practical should be more enhanced and betterment could be done, theory shall only be related to practical. Revised syllabus must have new generation technologies instead of 40-50 year back technologies which are not in use currently.
Internships Opportunities
Since I haven't done any internship yet but I am looking forward to do an internship, but it is compulsory and advisable to opt for internship in 3rd year. College does offer internship with stipends based on performance of students.
Placement Experience
Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student,and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
Fees and Financial Aid
For FE fee was 106000/- For SE fee was 100376/- so fee reduced by some thousands. Since I am in general category with no scholarship such as EBC I had to pay full fees, but if someone is under general they can get EBC through cap rounds. Other category students have some other scholarships depending upon their categories. MahaDBT scholarship is available for everyone.
Campus Life
Campus Life in Sinhgad is pretty good Campus is huge which is more than 50 acres of campus,many places to hangout in. Events are held every now and then And after December they are too often, every college club holds a event on the cultural centre or on other locations in the campus. SKNCOE is pretty good is sports matter of fact we won this year's GC and also previous year's too. There are many clubs in college, every department has thier own clubs and cultural club is the 'shaan' of college.
Admission
Actually I applied to various colleges but due to slightly less percentage than the cut-off Didn't get admission anywhere else for my desired branch. Choosing this college was not actually on my list but parents said it is good and well reputed too. Admission process is just like any other engineering college,seat is allocated via CAP rounds after giving exams like JEE and CET. cutoff for both of them are different on various parameters like branch,category, gender or pwd,etc. When I got admission here cut off for general category closed at 91 percentile in CET for computer engineering department
Faculty
Faculty to students ratio is positive,that means enough faculty is available for many students. There are many faculties I liked,EM sir,DELD sir,BEE mam,etc. they were student friendly and with good knowledge of their respective subjects There were also some we didn't like due to their behaviour or lack of study material or explanation. Biggest issue is that they explain from a pre prepared ppt
Night Life
Night life is pretty good in college, usually CC or the SCOE parking is the best place to hangout during the night as those are the best to take a chill pill. Hostel in times are generally 9pm but if permission granted it could be extended. Gates are closed at 11pm at night Campus is pretty safe for every one to roam. night and
