this question is comparing three private Pune colleges, so let me give you the honest pecking order:
MIT Pune (MIT College of Engineering) > SIT Pune (Symbiosis) > VIT Pune (Vishwakarma)
if you're asking whether to join SIT Pune even if MIT Pune is available — no, generally choose MIT Pune. it's an older, more established institution with a stronger alumni base in Pune industry. MIT Pune has been around since 1983 and has deep ties with Pune's manufacturing and IT sectors.
BUT — before finalizing, check one more thing: is PICT Pune (Pune Institute of Computer Technology) on your list? because if it is, PICT > all three of these for CS/IT. PICT has government-aided fees (almost free), very strong placements, and is one of Pune's best CS colleges.
if you already have MIT Pune in hand and the question is about SIT or VIT Pune — go MIT Pune. simpler answer.

PICT Pune wins this one clearly.
PICT (Pune Institute of Computer Technology) is one of Pune's most respected CS colleges, and if you're looking at CS/IT specifically, it's better than VIT Pune (Vishwakarma Institute of Technology) on almost every metric:
the only reason to consider VIT Pune over PICT is if you couldn't get CSE at PICT. VIT Pune is a decent fallback for CS in Pune. But if the choice is between these two for the same branch — PICT every time.

this one is actually a bit confusing because VIT Pune and VU (Vishwakarma University) are essentially the same institution under different branding.
VIT Pune = Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune (the original college name, an autonomous engineering college affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University). it recently received university status and is now referred to as Vishwakarma University in some contexts.
so if someone is comparing "VIT Pune" vs "Vishwakarma University Pune" — they're comparing the same college pre and post university status grant. they're not two separate colleges.
if you're asking about the difference after the university status:
if however you're comparing VIT Pune (Vishwakarma) with VIT Vellore's Pune campus — those are completely different institutions. VIT Vellore is a much more established and reputed college for CSE/ECE. don't confuse the two!

Management quota fees for MIT Pune and VIT Pune BTech CSE — these are among the most-searched admission questions in Maharashtra, and the numbers change each year. Here's the current picture.
MIT Pune (Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Kothrud):
VIT Pune (Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Bibwewadi):
How to avoid capitation entirely:
Both colleges are good (NAAC A+), but for pure placement: MIT Pune has slightly stronger brand in Pune's engineering ecosystem. VIT Pune is comparable. Verify latest fees at dte.maharashtra.gov.in.

yeah they're different colleges! both run by same trust (BRACT) but separate campuses.
VIT is clearly better for placements. one thing nobody explains properly — some companies at placement drives don't allow VIIT students to sit, only VIT ones. so the shared placements aren't really equal in practice.
also heads up — VIT Pune has nothing to do with VIT Vellore. completely different institutions. VIT Vellore is a deemed university in Tamil Nadu. VIT Pune is in Maharashtra under Pune University. a lot of people Google VIT placements and accidentally read Vellore data thinking it's Pune — don't make that mistake when researching!

For its B.Tech program, VIT Pune considers the JEE Mains and MH-CET scores of the aspirants. The admissions take place through a state-level counseling. The college does not have a management quota for B.Tech admissions, but lateral B.Tech admissions do take place.

I can enlighten you about the schedule of first shift students at VIT Pune.
Morning classes start at 8am. Those who aren’t lucky enough to have a vehicle of their own, reach the campus by climbing the famous VIT slope. Walking to the college becomes especially tough during the rainy season as one has to walk in the opposite direction to pouring rain.
Some professors are very particular about time, and close the doors at sharp 8 am. After 2-3 lectures of an hour each, one gets an hour-long break. During this time, one eats at either of the two canteens or Poona Bakery. The break is followed by more lecture/lab sessions. After this, either one is free, or some more lectures commence after another break.
Not all days are the same. Sometimes one gets free after 3 hours, while other times, classes and labs may even stretch to 8 hours. One usually gets free by 3pm. Saturday is a holiday for SE, TE and BE. Freshers have to attend general proficiency courses for 2 hours on Saturdays. GP includes Photography, Chess, Guitar, Violin, Yoga, Aerobics and other interesting hobbies. No leaves are awarded before exams, but the syllabus is quite manageable.
This is the basic routine of first shift B.Tech students at VIT Pune. You’ll face a fair share of challenges, but in the end, you’ll be left with everlasting memories.

As a student of B.Tech ENTC at VIT Pune, I can shed some light on this branch.
ENTC is one of the best branches of VIT Pune. It is an autonomous college, so it freely decides its course curriculum. The syllabus is industry relevant, and will equip you for higher studies. The curriculum contains skill development courses which will help you during placements and projects.
The department offers honors in fields like Robotics, Embedded System Design and VLSI. These additional courses carry extra credits. Instead of assignments, the new curriculum focuses on labs and mini projects. Many students opt for industry sponsored projects.
You may intern in a foreign university through the student exchange programs run by VIT Pune. The department has several student bodies- IEEE and IETE student branch, E-EDC (Electronics Entrepreneurship Development Cell), and TRF(The Robotics Forum). They conduct workshops, seminars, industrial visits, and participate in competitions like ROBOCON, e-yantra, etc.
Placement-wise, ENTC is second to CS/IT. Very few core companies visit the campus, so most placements are in the IT sector. Many students get offers from foreign universities for their higher studies.
Overall, ENTC at VIT Pune is a good branch with a supportive faculty. You can consider this branch for your engineering studies.
