AIT Pune follows an exclusive admission policy: only wards of serving and retired Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel are eligible. There is no civilian quota, no management quota, and no NRI-sponsored category. Admission is entirely based on JEE Main scores.

MHT-CET scores are NOT accepted. Admissions do not go through the DTE Maharashtra CAP (Central Admission Process). Candidates who do not have a parent serving or retired from the Indian Armed Forces are not eligible regardless of JEE Main score.

M.Tech admissions at AIT Pune are open to all candidates (not restricted to armed forces wards) with a valid GATE score in a relevant engineering discipline.
