- NERIST is inviting applications for PhD admission for the academic session 2024-25 (Jan-May semester). The last date for submission of application form is November 28, 2024. The admit card will be issued on December 04, 2024 onwards and the written test will be held on December 16, 2024. The list of candidates selected for interview will be released on December 16, 2024 and the interview will be held on December 17, 2024. The results will be declared on December 23, 2024.

North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) is a deemed-to-be university established in 1984 in Nirjuli, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. It is spread over an area of 500 acres. NERIST is an autonomous institution funded by MHRD, Govt. of India and approved by UGC & AICTE. NERIST Nirjuli is ranked 151-200 by NIRF 2023 under the “Engineering” category.

NERIST Courses & Fees
NERIST offers bachelor’s degree programmes in 6 engineering disciplines and one in forestry. The Engineering disciplines are Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Besides the bachelor’s degree programmes, several postgraduate degree programmes including M.Tech., M.Sc and MBA are also offered by the institute. NERIST Nirjuli also offers Ph.D. courses.

NERIST Admission 2024
NERIST Course Admission is based on the NEE entrance exams conducted by the institute at three different levels. The institute offers admission to the students starting from the base level i.e. students are eligible to apply for NERIST certificate courses after Class X. Candidates must attempt the NEE-I exam for certificate course admission.
For admission to the UG-level degree courses, the institute admits students via NEE-II and NEE-III exams. Candidates seeking admission to the NERIST B.Tech and B.Sc. (Forestry) programs must qualify for the NEE-II exam whereas the B.Tech lateral entry applicants should qualify for the NEE-III exam. Apart from NEE-II & NEE-III, NERIST also accepts the JEE Main entrance scores for B.Tech admissions.
Besides, admission to the postgraduate programs of NERIST is done via the national-level entrance exams. NERIST accepts the GATE entrance scores for M.Tech admissions. Whereas, the CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT scores are considered for admission to the MBA at NERIST Nirjuli followed by a GD or PI round. The institute conducts a written test for PG and Ph.D. students who have not attempted the national-level examinations.
NERIST Counselling: Once the candidate has a valid score in the entrance examination, he or she must apply for NERIST counselling. The names of the selected/ waitlisted candidates, along with the date and time of counselling will be uploaded on the institute website @www.nerist.ac.in. Candidates can download their counselling letter from the website. At the time of counselling/ admission, the candidates will have to produce all the relevant original certificates/ documents along with attested copies of the same.

NERIST Entrance Exam 2024
The NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) is conducted for admission to certificate and undergraduate courses at the institute. There are three exams: NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III which are conducted every year in the month of April to admit students in different modules. The test is conducted offline at various test centres and students can apply online on the official website. The exam consist of MCQs and is conducted for a total of 150 marks.

NERIST Result 2024 has been declared for the NEE entrance examinations for B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral Entry), B.Sc. (Forestry) and Certificate courses. NERIST Placements 2024 is ongoing and till now 29 companies have visited the campus and 148 students have been offered job opportunities. The highest number of offers is grabbed by Mechanical Engineering students. Apart from the placement, NERIST also gives a chance to its student to attend 30 days long industrial training to develop their skills and practical knowledge in their field. NERIST Scholarships 2024
NERIST is offering studentship to the students on a need cum merit basis. Students can also apply for the GATE scholarship and NET JRF or CSIR JRF fellowship to pursue their research programs. Some of the scholarships offered by NERIST are as follows:
- GATE Scholarship: Any student who has completed his/her master's degree and enrolled in the M.Tech programs of NERIST based on GATE scores is eligible for this scholarship. The selected students are awarded INR 12,400 per month under the GATE scholarship scheme.
- Ph.D. Scholarship: Ph.D. scholars at NERIST are eligible to get a stipend/scholarship benefit of INR 28,000 per month upon selection.
- Studentship: Students pursuing a diploma or bachelor's degree at NERIST can apply for the studentship. They will be rewarded INR 800 per month as the benefit of studentship.
NERIST Campus
NERIST Campus is spread over an area of 500 acres. The institute has various facilities such as a Sub-Post Office, a Branch of SBI with ATM facilities, a departmental store, a Canteen, a Medical Health Unit, etc. There are recreational clubs for the faculty & officers. For stationery items, stores are provided in boys’ and girls’ hostel compounds. NERIST also has two Multi-gym, one indoor badminton court, three basketball courts and a playground.

Ans. To get admission to NERIST for engineering courses, candidates have to clear either the JEE Main exam or NEE-II/ NEE-III (NERIST Entrance Exam). The B.Tech lateral entry applicants must qualify for the NEE-III exam and regular applicants of B.Tech courses must appear for NEE-II.

- I liked the overall affordability of the college as the yearly fees is just around rupees 16 thousand.
- I liked the the environment of the campus as it surrounded by green himalayan foothills and situated in an urban area with good facilities like shops and restaurants.
Dislikes
- I disliked the faculty of the college as most of the professors are old aged and lack the ability to teach students in a modern way.
- I did not like the placement facilities of my college as there are absolutely zero big companies that come here for campus placements.
Admission:
I choosed this college because the college was pretty affordable and was providing adequate facilities for studying and hostel. The college also has a good curriculum including extra curricular activities. This is the reason why I chose this college over others.

- The infrastructure here is not bad but have to go way more far.

I got into this institute through JEE.And the admission process was quite long and challenging. The eligibility for this is that every students that should be admitted here have to go through the institute exam so called NEE 1,NEE 2 AND Pg exam too,JEE

- I liked the ratio of girls and boys in my college, i guess 43:57 ratio of girls and boys in my college
- environment around the college is very pleasant and pure. It provide good environment to live and study

- They haven't provided transportation service. Which is making definitely for us while going to college

The admission process is very simple. First we have fill online form for Nerist Entrance Exam(NEE) For base module-NEE 1, For degree module-b.tech/b.sc (forestry) - NEE 2 and for lateral entry in b.tech 2nd year- NEE 3. For NEE 1 Eligibility: 10th passed with more than 75% For NEE 2 Eligibility: 12th passed with more than 75% (PCMB) For my course Jee mains were accepted or NEE 2 Overall admission experience is good and easy.

- I like the campus. The campus is vast and covers an area of 513 acres.

- Some class room has become old, dusty and stuffy.
- Lack of equipment in laboratories and old machinary equipments

I joined NERIST thought CSABNEUT. I could have got other college too because my mark was quite good for ST category. I scored 75 percentile in JEE exam. But NERIST was my first perference. I chose NERIST as my first perferenec because it is one of the best college in North East and as i am from north east it was the best option for me. NEE counselling is done offline which is inconvenient for many people but once you get selected to this college admissions process is not difficult. The faculties memebers are always ready to help and solves our confusion Admissions is done though ERP online After the payment of admission is done, we download the recipt and submite to the academic office

I got colleges in ICAR too but I chose this college because of the easy transportation and the environment of the college which is the best. The admission process is fast forward, we can get the forms, fee details and application dates through the college's official page of not we can visit the academic office for more information. There can be certain improvements which can be made such as putting signs to let people know the correct office for admission process as the academic office is very large and new people find it hard to find the specific office.

NERIST: 2 Answered Questions
I had cracked NEE 1 with a good rank. Should I leave the opportunity of getting into NERIST because I want to appear for JEE after 2 years?
A lot of my friends studied NERIST. According to them, it offers admission in three modules, Certificate, Diploma, and Degree programs, based on the entrance scores in NEE 1, NEE 2, and NEE 3, respectively.
The eligibility for taking the NEE 1 exam is to pass matriculation or 10th class. It offers admission in the certificate program equivalent to ITI or 10+2 class as declared by UGC.
Therefore, if you take admission through NEE 1 in NERIST, two years down the line of studying the basic module, you will be equivalent to an HSC student. So, yes, you can appear for JEE.
I have secured 2nd rank in the wait-listed candidates in the all-India general category. Will I get a seat at NERIST?
One of my friends took admission in NERIST. According to him, your luck will play a big part in bagging the seats. Students who have been far behind you in the waiting list ended up getting admission. Luck plays a major role because some students do not attend the counseling session which leaves some of the seats vacant.
- The process of selection is not that complicated.
- The candidates in the PRC ranking are allotted seats no matter what state they belong to.
- Everyone is assured of seats.
- In the case of agricultural engineering, a lot of people do not know about it so candidates who do, do end up getting seats.
- For NEE, there are probably 40 seats, 8 from the states of North East India including the All India quota and the PRC rank holders.
- So, four students for each group get their seats allotted to them and the PRC rank guarantees a student a seat in their own desired branch if the four seats have already been taken.
In the case of Arunachal Pradesh, however, the counseling session for the students belonging to that state is held on another day. So if a student does get a seat, it may not be the one they were looking for.
