Students also ask

Ques. If I take admission in JDMC and later want to change my course within same college can JDMC allow internal migration between departments in first year?

Ans. Internal migration is generally not allowed in JDMC after seat is allotted. Students have to study in the same course which is given through CSAS counselling. Change of department is possible only if DU announce any special migration policy. Colleges do not directly transfer student from one course to another and mostly students must continue same program for whole academic year without change.

Ques. After I pay admission fees in JDMC and later get upgraded to another DU college will JDMC refund my paid fees fully without any delay?

Ans. Fee refund happens according to Delhi University refund rules only. When student upgrades college through CSAS portal the paid amount automatically shifts to new college account, and the remaining money is refunded later. JDMC do not keep extra charges except small processing fee if mentioned in the policy. The refund process usually take some weeks so student must wait patiently for the amount.

Here’s what Khushi, a Political Science (Hons.) student from JDMC Delhi, says about her experience:

JDMC Delhi Ranking

JDMC Delhi consistently ranks among India’s top colleges, excelling in Commerce, Arts, and Science, as reflected in evaluations by reputed agencies like NIRF and Collegedunia. The details for the JDMC Delhi Rankings are mentioned in the table below:

Ranking Body Category 2025 Ranking
College Dunia Science 85
Commerce 63
Arts 79
NIRF Overall 151-201

Students also ask

Ques. If I take admission in JDMC, does lower NIRF ranking affect my future job opportunities or companies give less preference compared to higher ranked DU colleges?

Ans. NIRF ranking do not directly decide job opportunities for student. Companies mainly see skills, communication and overall profile more than college rank number. Even though JDMC is in 151-201 band still have good placement cell and recruiters. Many students get good jobs through internships and extra activities, so ranking is only one factor, not final deciding thing for career growth.

Ques. When I compare JDMC ranking with other DU colleges should I focus more on NIRF ranking or CollegeDunia subject ranking before choosing my final college preference?

Ans. Both rankings are important but they measure different things. NIRF ranking is overall national level and CollegeDunia ranking is more subject wise. Students should not depend only on one ranking and must see the faculty, location, fees and placement also. For subject-specific choice, CollegeDunia ranking help more but for general reputation, NIRF give broader idea about college performance.

Internship opportunities

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

The course curriculum is up to date. Although there are many changes due to nep but the faculties are trying their best to keep students interested in the course and make it as easy as possible as they can

What are the internship opportunities in the campus?

The internship opportunities offered are not that much but it is still very nice. Most of the internship are of content creation and work from home and even the on site internship are available the stipend is not that much.

Various companies recruiting from the campus and average package being offered

We become eligible for campus placement in our final year. The company which mostly visit is Zomato, deltax,ey gds, optum and they make on a average of 10-12 offers respectively. The lowest package starts from 350000.

Yearly fees of the course and scholarship

The year wise fees in starting of my admission was 20500 but as there is inflation there is inflation in fees also,it is now 21500. However the inflation is not that much. Other than that we have to pay for examination form which is not that much and it is according to course and subject we select. There are also scholarship opportunities provided by delhi University. There is a financial scheme under which economically weaker section students gets some part of their fees as refund. Not specifically on college level but on the university level there are many scholarship available. There are many scholarship opportunities specially for sc,st and OBC students by different institutions.

Various events, clubs and library of the college

I am enjoying my campus life as of now. There are fests and seminars on different occasions. The annual fest is just and perfect for socialising. Other colleges students are also allowed during college annual fest. There is digital method of entering in the library which is by scanning our id card. There are different clubs and societies according to interest of the students. There are research room, different computer labs,a room for shooting reels, sports ground,an open gym, smart boards and many such more. The college is up to date with the technology and it is upgrading with it. There are also some field visit by different society time to time

Faculty and learning experience in the campus

The faculty to students ratio is very nice and well structured. Like there are 150 student in bcom hons they are divided in different section and each section has get a professor of their own to teach a specific subject. The faculties is very nice and easily approachable. The commerce faculty is the best and economics is also nice one. Overall all the faculties are good natured. The exams are mostly the end semester exams which in nep consists of 7 subject per semester and most of students easily paas as the passing also depends on the internals which is of 70 marks.

Admission

As I am a nep student I had applied for various colleges. We have to write preference as it was introduced at that time we made some mistakes and due to that mistake we are not able to get the college of our choice.

Night Life

The campus life is preety much exciting the library is cozy and relaxing, most of the hangout place near college is temples mostly but there are cafes different monument malls also. It is very safe to roam around evening time as it is a kind of posh area

Admission:

I choose Janki Devi Memorial College mainly because it is a Delhi University College and has a good academic environment. I had applied to a few other DU colleges as well but the cutoffs is some of first slightly higher so, I could not get my preferred course there. When I got admission in Janki Devi Memorial College, I found that the faculty, infrastructure and overall environment is good, so I decided to continue here instead of waiting for further rounds. In comparison to other college I considerd JDMC has a disciplined environment, supported teachers and regular academic activities. The crowd is decent and the college focuses well or academics along with society and extra curricular activities which also influenced my decision. The admission process was conducted through Delhi University procedure. Eligibility depends on completing class 12th and qualifying through the entrance process used by DU. After the after the results and cut off education list are released, students confirmed their seats by submitting documents and paying the fees online. Overall admission process is what all the competition and cut off can be high with me getting into top colleges difficult. To be a good decision for me because Academic environment is comfortable.

Student Snaps:

Admission:

Admission process was through CUET UG exam. The selection was done through CSAS portal based on our preference list and marks in CUET exam. Compared to other colleges, Janki is pretty quiet and isolated from other du colleges, which is good for safety. It is evolving each year and for an off campus college it's amazing. I got in with 617 normalised score for B.A Program in 2023.

I've applied for miranda house college, kirori mal college, hansraj college. They are the top colleges for delhi university that's why I applied for these but due to high cut off at that time . I was not selected, maybe the seats were less and cutoff was high. The addmission process of my college was cuet score based now and online too . Cutoffs are high but depends upon category top .

I chose this college because it was best for philosophy specialisation when I searched on Google. It's located in Old Rajinder nagar, hub for upsc prep. It's very safe and hostel is best in place. Plus the college really is very clean. It makes you feel like you entered a private college. Because it's way too beautiful when it comes to the greenery part

Janki Devi Memorial College is a very good and respectful college and is infamous for its excellent faculty and also the good infrastructure. This is a girl's college so it's extremely safe for girls and it gives girls the opportunity to flourish without being oppressed by anyone. You get more opportunities here than you would get in a coed college.

I got 642 marks in CUET . And the cut off was very high for the political science honours course. And I'm from general category that's why I got this college only. I wasn't expected much from this college because it's a off campus college. But now I'm super happy with it
