Arts, Commerce or Science Teno stream courses are available in our college. And it is very easy to pass college exams, you just have to study the college books properly and you can pass the college exam by practicing previous year papers properly. And talking about internal exams, it is very easy to get marks from teachers because the teachers of PGDAV college are very good, you just have to maintain the good relations with the teachers

Campus Life

Yes, different types of clubs are also run in college like NSS, NCC, etc. They provide good skills to the college students without affecting their college life. An annual festival named AROHANA is also organised in our college which is celebrated in the month of February or March and all the children of the college enjoyed it a lot. There is also the control of spots in college, it keeps the children physically strong.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was very fond of mathematics in my intermediate times that's why I chose to do my graduation from BSC Maths Honours. But I chose the wrong college for doing so, which overall ruined my life. After coming to this college, I lost my interest in studies and this is the only thing I gained from this college. So, I would recommend everybody to stay away from this college.

Campus Life

I have been very sporting person from my childhood, when I was in college I played twice From my college cricket team that was a very nice experience truely. Library of the college is good and staffs of the library are also helpful you can fetch any of your courses books that you wish to. I love the calm nature of my college campus.

Faculty

The faculty members at KMC are very cordial and bring the best out of their students. The conversations that happen in classrooms are not just limited to the subject; more often, they are about experiences and life, which fosters all-around development. The batch size is limited, and there are two sections in that as well that allow for a great faculty-to-student ratio. My favourite teachers include SP Tripathi sir, Stanzin Dorjai sir, Kavita mam, and Dinesh Khattar sir because of their command over their respective subjects and just how approachable they were. The exams are on the moderate level, you need to the regular with the course, and it's slightly rigorous but not in a way that you won't get time for other activities. If you maintain touch with the subjects, then I have hardly seen anyone failing in the exams.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is relevant, especially for those who are looking to target the IIT-JAM. It provides a great platform, and every year, 8-10 people make it to the top IITs. For people looking for placements, the opportunities are decent, but you will have to work hard, maintain and strong CGPA, and try to do some internships as well. Some courses like R programming, probability and statistics, Mathematical Finance, Differential equations, Calculus are very useful for people who are targeting analyst kind of roles.

The overall experience was very good , there are social programs run by the college which Includes NSS .In NSS we have clean the college campus and create awareness about various government run programs. GGV also have NCC which is a very good opportunity for the defence aspirants. There are about 4-5 fest organised by various schools . The names of the fest are Espectro , Lex -ignitia ,etc . Fests generally last for 2-3 days . It is conducted in between January and March . We have a central library which have books of every field and books of every topic is available. In addition to that we have a department library which have all the books of mathematics curriculum. We have a smart classroom and one computer lab for research purpose . There are many sports event conducted both in department and university level . many players are selected to play for inter - University games in games like Basketball, Volleyball , Rope skipping , Hockey etc . There are many students run groups for example there is a group Abhinartan which is group which have interest in dance . Archies for the one interested in Dramas . Tarang for music .

Faculty

The faculty to student ration in my department is 1:10 . Our Faculty is very supportive and helpful. Every one is happy to help barring some one two professors which is common in every college . We can approach them anything during the classes hours that of 9-5 and we can message them of we have any doubts or call them in any help they reply if they are free . In mathematics department I like A K Thakur sir (HOD mathematics Department) most as the style of his teaching is very unique, he is very supportive to Students , he also motivates every students to play and come out to the field . The exam pattern is as follow: In ech semester their will be two CT ( Class Test ) and one end semester examination. CT will be of 15 marks each and end semester will be of 70 marks. Basically the syllabus is only the things which are covered in classes and is easy to pass yet some students fail for some reasons . The course curriculum includes almost all the important topics of IIT- JAM syllabus so it is relevant.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have paid 13000 rs for the 1st year of the college and paid the same amount of rupees for 2nd 3rd year. In Every semester you have to pay exam which can vary from course to course as if you have practical subjects then extra 200 rs per practical will be added to your exam fee. Sc / St and OBC didn't get any fee concession in exam fee. For the general category they paid ig 2000 or 3000 rs more than SC / St students. There are loats of scholarships and financial aid that have given students who are economically weak or they get good grades in 12th or gets good marks in college exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well the fee structure is pretty simple , you pay around approximately 18000-19000 per year for the course i selected. The amount varies from course to course but the structure is pretty much the same. You pay the yearly fees at the start of the college year which is around july-august. There is no extra addmission fees or snything similar but there is a very small examination fees approx. 1500-2500 depending on you subject this exam fess is paid per semester, so about twice a year. There are a lot of scolarships available although most of them are either for girls or are given to minorities.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is pretty good very close to 1:20, and majority of the students have a good realtionship with the faculty. The faculties that i like the most are Mr. Ashutosh who is my linear algebra professor and ms. Shikha gupta jain who was my probability teacher last sem and also Mr. Rajesh who is an office member and helps students with their problems. There are only one major exam per sem but there are also Test that are taken twice per sem ( Best of two marks are awarded) by the teachers that contribute to the internal exams.

faculty memebers are average and faculties are very very approachable you can meet them whenever you want. Ashish sir mathematis, monika maam , anamika maam, are the best among all faculties because they can help you whenever you want and their way of teaching is best. i dont want to name but there are many teachers are not apporachable easily and i dont like way they teach they just came and write on board and go. there are one mid term and then final exam per semester, only 1 percent i guess fail the exam, the exam is completely from the content we taught. curriculum is relevant and updated as per requirements.

Course Curriculum Overview

i have interest in mathematics so i choose mathematics hons there and their curriculum is updated but there is only one industrial visit in three years. currilum is desinged in a such a way that they also taught us some software like r. there are many subjects in all semester so they can reduce subjects per semester for better stress free environment. mid term exam is in mid of the semester and the final exam is in last the difficulty of exams is easy to medium.

Taarang is our annual fest and this 3 day love affair is something that not many DU college has. Saree was this year's theme and on the final day all the beautiful girls of the college wore sarees. Our campus has multiple lawns and a cute brick building where classes are held. Admin department building is also very nice as there are seperate offices for each department of the college.

Faculty

Neera Wadhwa mam is my favourite as she has always been there whenever I needed her. Just like her all the faculties are very polite and selflessness is something which one can learn from them. Just like a coach doesn't teach everything from coaching manual our faculties too don't just adhere the text books but beyond that too.

Course Curriculum Overview

B.Sc (H) Mathematics is known to be as a difficult course. But in real sense, it taught us to solve many real life problems easily. Also due to NEP, there a paper named as Generic Elective where you we can choose a subject of our interest. So having maths assignment major subject, students used to choose mostly computer science, statistics, economics, etc these combinations are considered to be good forore diverse carrer paths. Exams are going to be in December for semester 1 and in May - June for semester 2.

Placement Experience

Students of third year are only eligible for placement, rest all are eligible for internship opportunities. LSR provides internship and placement in many sectors like data science, consultancy, etc. The placement rate of LSR is very good, having highest package in history of Delhi University with 49 LPA. Also having 11 LPA as average package. Many prestigious companies came to campus for placement and internship such as Macquarie, BlackRock, McKinsey, etc.

Faculty

All the faculty members are quite chill and come up with innovative ways to make us understand the concepts. You can approach them any time with doubts, online or in person and they will help you. They teach upto the mark and prepare the tests from a learning and exam point of view.

The name of the annual festival is like - Aavaahan, Elixir, Sreet Struck, Zero Hour, Concurous(the political quiz), Pratibha- the talent hub, etc. Generally the annual festival held in March-April months. But the technical festivals often held in some interval of time. There are a huge collection of books, journals, magazines, periodicals and laptop accessories as well for the students. In addition, it also houses a bank for the students who belong to the economically backward classes. Aryabhatta College has three computer labs with several compute systems as well as a high speed of internet connection which aids students their academic research. In the sport department, Aryabhatta Colleges trains it's students in Cricket, volleyball, football, badminton, table-tennis, chess, Taekwondo, etc. Also, the college takes part in the various competitions. In addition, provisions for gymnastics, weight-lifting, body-holding are also available. There are some students who run social groups, post about the information etc.

Faculty

My admission is confirmed in B.Sc. Mathematics honours. The subject is also interesting. I'm studying in graduation MATHS(Hons), from aryabhatta college in DU. The faculty-to-student ratio in college is nearly 1:50 but at the same time the faculties are approachable. The name of the faculty I like the most is Mr. Narender sir. He elaborate the topic easily and he has their own style of teaching. The professor in my department are knowledgeable and intellectually strong, but their teaching methods vary. Some are effective and engaging, while other are less impressive. Each and every professor is qualified from the top universities of India and world. There are many ad-hoc professor selected on the basis of their merits. We have two semester-exam each year, and the difficulty level often depend on your preparation.

Faculty

According to me faculty and students ratio in this university is near about 40 : 60. And relationship of faculty with students is really good. They always helps students to do any extracurricular activities. Here every month well being initiative program are held. I was bsc maths students in which my subject combination is PMG (Physics Math Geology). So here if I liked most any teacher/ professor that were geology professors also maths and physics professors are also good. There is no reason to dislike any faculty of any department. There are two exams first is mid term and second is semester exam. Questions asked in exam are always related to course which are delivered during lecture. I'm not sure how many students fails to clear the exam but nearly max 25% students always fails to clear exam if the questions paper is difficult otherwise all students pass the exam.

Ques. Is an integrated MSc in mathematics and computing in BIT Mesra a good option?

● Top Answer By Deepmoy Ganguly on 09 Aug 23

Ans. Maths and Computing is considered one of the best branches after CS in IITs today. The BIT tag is also quite popular among engineering aspirants so many enthusiasts of Math and CS  go for this branch to avail the opportunities this field offers. From what I have heard, the syllabus is at par with industry needs and the faculty pool is very passionate and approachable.  Mathematics is an indispensable part of Computer Science whether it’s research in data science or development. you need to be proficient in math. This course is designed to bridge the gap between the two which it purposely does, opening gates of innumerable opportunities.  To make the most of this branch, start concentrating on Core Mathematics and programming/DS/competitive programming right from the first year. Start working on a project by the end of the first year and go for an internship in the software domain. By the end of the 4th year, you will be proficient in most CS skills making it possible for you to sit for maximum placements. So, taking IMSC in Mathematics and Computing at BIT Mesra will be a good decision if you stop comparing your branch with others. The only drawback is that it is not a technical degree but that does not matter in the long run.Read more

Ques. How do I prepare for BHU UET Bsc Maths (hons)?

● Top Answer By Shirsti Varma on 11 Nov 21

Ans. To score well in BHU UET, you need to have your basics clear. Go through all the chapters in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics from NCERT books and your textbooks at least once.  Go through the previous year’s questions from the BHU website. You will get to know the question trends and also get an idea of the chapters to focus on. They often repeat questions. The questions are not that hard. You can easily attempt 10% of the questions. 60% of the questions require fundamental knowledge of the subjects. Only around 30% of the questions will be difficult to solve. But you don’t need to worry about the 30% difficult question. You can easily score enough marks from the rest of the paper. Time management is crucial during the examination. The allotted time is 150 min. Which can seem short, if you don’t plan accordingly. First, you should attempt Chemistry questions. These are easy to solve and require less time. Then you can move on to Physics and Mathematics. Don’t stress too much on the questions that you don’t know the answer to. Try to score at least 120 out of 150 in the Chemistry section.  Your focus on class 11 and 12th syllabus should be 40/60.  The required cutoff for the general candidates is around 190-200. So, try to score 240 to get your preferred combination. Read more

Ques. How can I do BSc Mathematics major through IGNOU?

● Top Answer By Santosh Singh on 19 Oct 22

Ans. If you are willing to get admission at IGNOU for B.Sc. Mathematics you can follow the following steps: choose minimum 40 credits worth of Mathematics electives you have to choose/opt your Mathematics electives according to year wise scheme i.e some electives in first year, some in second year and rest are in third year. Remember you cannot opt a 3rd year elective course in first year or second year. You can opt a first year course in second year or third year. Similarly a second year course in the third year. This is why there are less than 24 credit options of Mathematics electives. Online registration system eliminates the already selected electives automatically. This is the reason you don’t get MTE1 or MTE6 etc. options in your second year reregistration options list. MTE 06 is the toughest paper so try opting other electives.Read more

Ques. Among JADAVPUR University, ST XAVIER'S AND CALCUTTA University, which is best to pursue B. Sc. in mathematics Honors?

● Top Answer By Pablo Patranabis on 11 Jan 21

Ans. Among the three mentioned universities, Jadavpur University is the best to pursue BSc in mathematics Honours without any doubt. The classes are assured regularly and rigorous for those who desire to have a future in mathematics; there should be no doubt in selecting JU.  Comparison: (Winning Institution - Jadavpur University) St. Xaviers became a university recently. A BSc degree from JU holds more value than a bachelor’s degree from St. Xaviers.  Jadavpur University was ranked 196th in Asia by The World University Ranking 2020. The faculty at JU is top-notch. The syllabus adopted by JU is of advantage if you want to pursue higher studies after your degree. You will have better exposure at Jadavpur through regular seminars. Attending seminars delivered by guest faculty from distinguished National institutes, and your seniors pursuing masters and Ph.D. will make an immense difference. If you are choosing St. Xaviers because of the campus, you should visit the Jadavpur University campus.  The classes are regular, and JU follows a rigorous pedagogy. The political environment people talk about is quite exaggerated. If you don't get involved in campus politics, it is never going to bother you.  Jadavpur University contributes much more than just a degree that gives you quality education, which is not restricted to classroom learning. They make sure the students turn into the person they can be and gives them the confidence that no other college in Kolkata does.Read more
