Course Curriculum Overview

4

Generally by opting mathematics we can pursue it for teaching or research purpose. I had interest in mathematics starting from my childhood so I took mathematics as my subject for graduation. The real world application thaught in this curriculum is equal to zero . We were unable to compare it to the real world application. Teachers could improve their teaching style they teach like they just come and write on the green board repeat it twice if we are unable to get it they ask to come personally to clear it maybe to save time . We generally have semester of 6 months out of which 1-2 months vacation we leaves 4.5 months in which we have give one CT of 15 marks after one months of classes . In CT 2 we have to submit assignment although it depends upon the professor. after 3.5 months of classes we are to give our end Sem examination. Its generally easy to moderate to pass the exams .

Internships Opportunities

1

In mathematics department there is no in campus intership. We had to arrange our own internship after the First year examination that to just to complete our course requirements. We were to join any place which have mathematics in application.

Fees and Financial Aid

At the time of our admission the admission fees was Rs 4050/- which included the fees of first semester after that we paid 3000 in second semester. In second year we paid 4050 for each semester. In our 5th sem I paid 4050 and in the last sem I paid 4500 as the semester fees. The Semester fees kept on increasing from the first semester but we don't have to pay any other fees like examination fees , sports fees etc . It includes every fees . Fees of every category(ST, SC or OBC) was same. I was given scholarship by Chhattisgarh government which was same as my tution fees as I belong to OBC (non Creamy layer ) while the students of ST and SC got 1000-2000 more than the OBC category students . Students can also Apply for central government scholarships .

Campus Life

4

The overall experience was very good , there are social programs run by the college which Includes NSS .In NSS we have clean the college campus and create awareness about various government run programs. GGV also have NCC which is a very good opportunity for the defence aspirants. There are about 4-5 fest organised by various schools . The names of the fest are Espectro , Lex -ignitia ,etc . Fests generally last for 2-3 days . It is conducted in between January and March . We have a central library which have books of every field and books of every topic is available. In addition to that we have a department library which have all the books of mathematics curriculum. We have a smart classroom and one computer lab for research purpose . There are many sports event conducted both in department and university level . many players are selected to play for inter - University games in games like Basketball, Volleyball , Rope skipping , Hockey etc . There are many students run groups for example there is a group Abhinartan which is group which have interest in dance . Archies for the one interested in Dramas . Tarang for music .

Admission

This college is the only central university on Chhattisgarh. It stands out every other college in chhattisgarh. The NAAC rating of GGU is A++. All this makes it a easy choice for any student . I had applied to many other central university of other states and I got confirmed seat in them except the DUs so I choose the my home state college as it was near my home . I was unable to get seat in DU as my CUET score was not that much . I had not prepared for the CUET examination because I was preparing for my SSB interview. I could have done well. To get admission in UG in GGV we have to give CUET - UG examination which is taken by NTA which is accepted by all central university and DUs including BHU . Students passing their 12 exam are eligible to aplly. After giving the CUET examination we had to register in the GGV site for registration in the desired stream . Then a CRL was released and students were called I got admission in first councelling .

Faculty

The faculty to student ration in my department is 1:10 . Our Faculty is very supportive and helpful. Every one is happy to help barring some one two professors which is common in every college . We can approach them anything during the classes hours that of 9-5 and we can message them of we have any doubts or call them in any help they reply if they are free . In mathematics department I like A K Thakur sir (HOD mathematics Department) most as the style of his teaching is very unique, he is very supportive to Students , he also motivates every students to play and come out to the field . The exam pattern is as follow: In ech semester their will be two CT ( Class Test ) and one end semester examination. CT will be of 15 marks each and end semester will be of 70 marks. Basically the syllabus is only the things which are covered in classes and is easy to pass yet some students fail for some reasons . The course curriculum includes almost all the important topics of IIT- JAM syllabus so it is relevant.

Night Life

4

GGV is situated is very good environment during the evening till around 9-9:30 . Classes usually end after 5 after that students get together and spend some time outside together. The Gym closing time is 6 pm , cafeteria closing time is 7 pm while Library closing time is 8 pm . The closing timing for the girls hostel is 7 Pm while 9:30 for the boys . kali mandir is very good place for hangout while it's generally to safe to roam till 10 Pm after that very less people are on streets.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum of anthropology is very much connected to our human lives which I like to know more about and which influenced me choose this as my graduation course. We study biological , social and cultural, archaeological, and linguistic aspects of humans and thus do a holistic study of human which is very interesting. The toughness exams are of medium level The frequency and timing of exams is good like in every month we have internals and then after a month we have semester exams . So it's good that we are connected to studies and passing exams becomes easy.

I choosed Bachelor of Science in Mathematics as I am from Mathematics Background. I studied in first shift from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. As exam is concerned there is no headache of passing exam because it's an autonomous college so the college easily passed almost all the students. The faculty were teaching well but it needs to improve in their quality of teaching.
