This year, the board recorded an overall pass percentage of 85.20%. A total of 1,857,517 students registered for the examination across 19,967 schools and 7,573 centres worldwide.
Girls performed better with 88.86%, followed by boys with a passing percentage of 82.13%. Transgender students have a perfect 100% pass rate.
- While the board will not issue an official merit list, top-performing regions like Trivandrum and Vijayawada often exceed 99% pass rates
- Merit certificates will be awarded to the top 0.1% of students who secure the highest marks in their subjects.
- CBSE board will not declare national topper but they will release topper list according to region.
- State-wise and region-wise statistics including pass percentage and gender-wise data will be available on cbse.gov.in post declaration.

CBSE 12th Result 2026: Pass Percentage Overview
The CBSE 12th Result 2026 overall pass percentage is 85.20%, which is lower than last year’s 88.39% based on candidate performance and difficulty level during the board exams.
