CBSE Class 12 Maths Syllabus 2024-25 has been released. You can download the full syllabus from the official website, cbseacademic.nic. CBSE Class 12 Maths Syllabus contains a total of 13 chapters divided into 6 units. The maximum weightage is carried by the unit Calculus. This unit alone carries 35 marks out of the total 80 marks (for the theory paper). Vectors and Algebra are the next major units in CBSE Class 12 Maths Syllabus 2024-25.

Maximum marks for the theory paper are 80, while 20 marks are carried by the internal assessment. Passing marks in maths class 12 CBSE is 33% of the total marks. The topics deleted from the CBSE Class 12 Maths Syllabus in the previous session remain excluded for the 2024-25 session as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. What are the units covered in the CBSE Class 12 Maths syllabus?

Ans. The syllabus usually includes units like Relations and Functions, Algebra, Calculus, Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry, Linear Programming, and Probability. These 6 units are further divided into 13 chapters with maximum weightage given to the Calculus unit followed by Vectors and Three Dimensional Geometry and Algebra

Ques. What is the marks distribution in the CBSE Class 12 Maths exam?

Ans. Students often seek detailed marks distribution across different units and chapters to prioritize their study and preparation strategy. The marks distribution in the CBSE class 12 Maths are as follows:

Relations and Functions: This unit, including chapters on relations and functions, inverse trigonometric functions, etc., might carry around 8-10 marks.

Algebra: Covering matrices and determinants, this section can be allocated approximately 10-12 marks.

Calculus: Being a vast and significant portion of the syllabus, which includes limits and derivatives, continuity and differentiability, applications of derivatives, integrals, application of the integrals, and differential equations, Calculus could be assigned around 35-40 marks. This unit is central to the Class 12 Maths curriculum and hence, is weighted heavily.

Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry: With vectors, and three-dimensional geometry topics, this section may account for around 14-17 marks.

Linear Programming: This unit introduces students to linear programming problems and their solutions. It is relatively smaller and might carry around 5-6 marks.

Probability: Covering various aspects of probability, this section can have a weightage of about 8-10 marks.

Ques. Are there any changes in the CBSE Class 12 Maths syllabus for this year?

Ans. No changes have been made to the CBSE class 12 Maths syllabus this year. Previously, the board deleted 30% of the syllabus due to the pandemic. The deleted chapters in CBSE class 12 Maths syllabus are Relations and Functions, Inverse Trigonometric Functions, Matrices, Continuity and Differentiability, Three-Dimensional Geometry, Linear Programming, etc.
