Dr. vinay pant is my favorite one, and he is the best at teaching in my department.
The placements are good in iit roorkee as it is the top 5 engineering colleges in india from 4 th semester ending you will get internship companies like amazon flipkart google microsoft and all other popular companies.
The prettiest thing in the whole campus is the james thomsan building. it has magnificent lawn and beautiful green and tall trees.

Dislikes

Admission process was a bit difficult a lot of documents to prepare so take took.the cut-off was too low cause it was the toughest exam.i didn't like the procedure of admission, have to prepare so much documents it was hectic.
A very few things that are dislike about the college is the rooms of hostels and washrooms of my block, not very much clean and with proper functions
Some professors are good but some are very rude and rigorous.

I liked the culture, campus and the comfort and safety feeling.

Dislikes

I don't like the old school curriculum here

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is of old school types but the faculty is good and very supportive. The student-faculty ratio is not good here. The faculty here are highly qualified. Exams were really often like in 4 months we have 2-3 exams.

In The 7Th Semester, We Can Apply For Placements. Companies Uber, Microsofts, Goldman Sachs, Itc Ltd, Cisco, Amazon, Flipkart, Bank Of America. Highest Package - 1.45 Cpa Lowest Package - 12 Lpa Avg Package- 22 Lpa. % Students - 90%. I Am Working In a Reputed Company As A Software Engineer.

A overview on Econs, IITR

Likes

Specifically for economics, i liked the faculties. They are cooperative.
Apart from it i liked the club culture in the campus.
Varied interest peers will always keep on that competitive environment.

Dislikes

Subtle inclination of everyone towards coding
Joining right clubs in the start is important.

Placement Experience:

Placements are quite decent with a major focus on SDE and tech based companies followed by some core companies. The placement internship cell ensures that everyone gets placed irrespective of their branch.

IIT Roorkee- Dream come true?

Likes

student activity center and sports facilities are nice.
faculties are very helpful and easily approachable.
Good international relations through a cell named IARC.

Dislikes

The mess food is not good in terms of taste.
Some of the hostels are very old and very conjusted.
Triple and double sharing rooms are also there, which are not good.

Placement Experience:

The placements are one of the best among the engineering colleges. Companies offer roles in various domains such as data analyst, researcher, developer, etc. The average package is around 17 to 18 lakhs.

All about IIT Roorkee

Likes

The sports facilities are very good and maintained
Campus clubs are very helpful and skill developing
Professors are easily approachable and helpful

Dislikes

The mess food is somewhat not good tastewise
The hostels do not allow for keeping coolers, which makes summers bad

Placement Experience:

The placements are great with an average package above 20 lakhs per annum. There are quite good companies coming to the campus. More than 95 per cent of the students get placed with good packages. The highest package goes to 1-2 crores.

Is IIT Roorkee your dream college?

Likes

Good campus placements and internship opportunities.
Wide variety of campus clubs and groups, that make a good learning for the students.
Good campus with lots of greenery and all types of sports.

Dislikes

The hostels are little bit old and rooms which are double or triple sharing are not good.
Campus politics is very dirty and it is included in various campus clubs.
The mess is very far away from the hostel for some hostels.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements in the seventh semester of their 4-year course. A wide variety of companies come to offer jobs and the average package is very good (around 20 lakhs). Almost all the students who sit in placements get placed.

Life at IIT Roorkee

Canteens,sports facilities, clubs,fests.friends.
Seniors, juniors , food outside campus , fests.

Dislikes

Mess food sucks. Toilets were not English. So that was also a problem.
The campus is 355 acres. But it gets small pretty fast.
The course is fine but the professors have no clue how to teach.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fine. You do learn a bunch of unnecessary subjects. Professors are awful. It's a very hard task to find a good professor. They are all highly qualified but don't know how to teach. Exams are done in mid-terms and then end terms about 2.5 months apart. And they are very tough. Because you don't study in college.

Campus infrastructure is very good and it holds 2nd in Nirf ranking
Faculties are fabulous as they have holds many experiences and expertise in their field
Campus have best placements ever and the students treatment is very well

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I want to become a doctorate so I have chosen a Ph.D. in IIT ROORKEE. One faculty have 2 students each. They all are post-doctorate and Ph.D. holders. After every 6 months, there is an exam held on campus.

IIT ROORKEE IS HEAVEN

Likes

IIT Roorkee has a beautiful campus. it is like heaven .
IIT Roorkee established in 1847, so it has completed 150 years.
IIT Roorkee provide Good quality of education.

Dislikes

If you from hindi medium background, you can suffer a lot.
you have to keep motivate you by yourself, no one is going to help.
less personal interaction between professors and students.

The placements are good. you can start by 3rd year. there are top companies who visit every year. highest packages - more than 1cr avg package- 10 lacs. 80-90 % of students can get easily any job. I want to go for a start-up and exploring in life.

Truth about DoMS, IITR

Campus culture and infrastructure - One of the best in whole nation
Networking - there are about 7000+ students at any given time, therefore you meet alot of good people.

The information regarding placements is available on the college website with detailed reports. But just for the answer, for the 2023 batch, the average package stood at 18.34 LPA and the highest went up to 28 LPA.
