Canteens,sports facilities, clubs,fests.friends.
Seniors, juniors , food outside campus , fests.

Dislikes

Mess food sucks. Toilets were not English. So that was also a problem.
The campus is 355 acres. But it gets small pretty fast.
The course is fine but the professors have no clue how to teach.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is fine. You do learn a bunch of unnecessary subjects. Professors are awful. It's a very hard task to find a good professor. They are all highly qualified but don't know how to teach. Exams are done in mid-terms and then end terms about 2.5 months apart. And they are very tough. Because you don't study in college.

Internships Opportunities

You normally apply for an internship after 2nd year. There is a placement and internship cell on campus that requires you to submit your resumes. Companies come and hire students based on resumes and interview processes.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is simple- 100000 Tuition fees and the rest including hostel and mess is 34500 per semester. There is no hike in the fees. But it's still quite expensive. I have availed tuition fee waiver of 2/3 fees exemption because I am in Ews.

Campus Life

There are 4 total feats. The cultural fest is Thomson which happens in October. Tech fest is Cognizance which happens in January. There are more than 5000 books in the library although none are literature books. There are 2 cricket grounds, 1 football ground, and 1 hockey ground on campus.

Hostel Facilities

The Freshers hostel is Rajendra Bhawan. It's the best hostel but the mess sucks. The food is not good in any hostel. The best food is from Govind Bhawan. There are playing rooms in hostels as well. You are assigned a hostel the day you come to campus.

Hostel Fee: INR 75000 per year

Admission

You go to IIT Roorkee by jee advanced. You have to first clear JEE Mains. The first 250000 ranked students qualify to give JEE advanced. Then you have to qualify for that. There is a subject cutoff of 5 marks in each subject and then an overall cutoff that changes according to the paper.

GEU and CSE ho hand in hand!

Placement Experience:

LTI, Polaris, Deloitte, Infosys, Oracle, Nvidia and what not are there for placements here. Even the Fintech and finance companies like the Axis Bank, Shri Ram Capital Finance and all are here. Thus, placements worth 10-50 lakhs is quite possible at GEU.

Geu provides best intenrships!

Placement Experience:

In GEU placements are like such that we don't have to bother at all. We are approached by placements cell in the 5th semester and then are trained for the whole month and then university urges us to go for internships to have the required exposure and have a CV which can impress the recruiters first hand. Thus, we get placement which median as of now is 8.5 lakhs.

GEU has the best Placements!

Placement Experience:

McKinsey, Oracle, NVIDIA, Google, TCS, Deloitte and many more come here for placements. Around 15-20 students in 2025 had placements worth over 40 lakhs and four students managed to grab placements worth 50 lakhs or more.

The placements of the students in the college is satisfactory. This year the students of third year grabbed a placement of 18 LPA . Wipro and TCS visits the campus frequently. The highest package is of 43 LPA and the average stands at 6-7 LPA.. the percentage of the placements is nearly 90-95%..

I didnt applied for any other colleges other than some iits which were iit bombay, kanpur, roorkee, guwahati. Just these four and nothing because i got a decent rank in JEE Adv 2025. IIT ROORKEE - A SCRUPULOUS REVIEW

I took part in jossa councelling and got it . I was happy with any of seven old iits . In better way , i would be happy in going any top iit. Moreover i choose it because of it's weather and location. Rest all things are similar to all top iits. Nothing is less in iit roorkee. You have to give jee main then jee advanced. 1st year opinion of IIT Roorkee

I took admission from JEE (Main+Advance).Form could be found on NTA website. Some reservation benefits were , i got a bit higher brancher even though my rank was lower. Mains timing are morning shift and evening shift. As for advance it runs all day for 6 hours(with a break of 2 hour in between). Mains is easy , advance is a bit difficult....Read More
