Specifically for economics, i liked the faculties. They are cooperative.
Apart from it i liked the club culture in the campus.
Varied interest peers will always keep on that competitive environment.

Course Curriculum Overview

It's a comparatively easy branch if you attend classes or just give a week before the exams. Exams occur almost at 3 months so you have enough time to explore things you want to. Practical classes are also fewer compared to other branches.

Class Size: 33Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Placement Experience

Placements are quite decent with a major focus on SDE and tech based companies followed by some core companies. The placement internship cell ensures that everyone gets placed irrespective of their branch.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarship opportunities like iNSPIRE, Merit-cum-means scholarships, scholarships based on income criteria and many more. Placement seems to be pretty promising after all you have the IIT Tag.

Campus Life

Same as many other colleges there are vast numbers of social groups and clubs aiming to perform different activities from organizing events to teaching skills are present in the campus. It's really a great experience joining those.

Admission

The idea of admission to one of the prestigious colleges of India always seems thrilling and that too when you get what you like. Even though you will be surrounded by people making hype of Cse or BTech but it's always better to do what you like. Admission to the Economics branch also occurs through JEE ADVANCED and depending upon your gender and category you can have varied ranges of selection. It really is a good and advancing branch if you have an interest.

Insights of IIT ROORKEE

Placement Experience:

In IIT ROORKEE placements are approx. 100%. The top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, American Express, Adobe, Texas Instruments etc. In 2021 there are 1200 offers made to 960 students with the highest package of 2.5 cr (CTC) international and 1.8cr in India with 11 students getting more than 1 crore package. I am currently thinking of moving ahead with chemistry and doing a Ph.D. in it.

IIT ROORKEE had quite good placement offers. Almost 850 students get placed. If you will learn coding with your course you will get placed and also have a lot of opportunities for internships. If you can't get placed then you can also apply for of campus placement drive. Or you can go for higher studies.

I didnt applied for any other colleges other than some iits which were iit bombay, kanpur, roorkee, guwahati. Just these four and nothing because i got a decent rank in JEE Adv 2025. No i didnt get rejection from any college with my rank in jee main and advanced 2025 The admission process is straight like 1) JEE main 2) JEE Advanced 3) Josaa counselling Cutoff for top seven iits is higher than all other iits neans that you cant get into top seven just by qualifying jee advanced, you must have a good rank....Read More

IIT ROORKEE - A SCRUPULOUS REVIEW

I took part in jossa councelling and got it . I was happy with any of seven old iits . In better way , i would be happy in going any top iit. Moreover i choose it because of it's weather and location. Rest all things are similar to all top iits. Nothing is less in iit roorkee. You have to give jee main then jee advanced. If you get good rank , you will get this college. You will have to get air under 5000 to get in iit roorkee or any top iit....Read More

1st year opinion of IIT Roorkee

I took admission from JEE (Main+Advance).Form could be found on NTA website. Some reservation benefits were , i got a bit higher brancher even though my rank was lower. Mains timing are morning shift and evening shift. As for advance it runs all day for 6 hours(with a break of 2 hour in between). Mains is easy , advance is a bit difficult....Read More
