Dislikes
- Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

- The campus was very eco-friendly with deer and monkeys roaming around.
- The professors of my department are very helpful and friendly. They help us as much as they can.
- There are 3-4 reading halls in our campus. Some are open 24X7. They are beneficial for students who like to study during night.
Dislikes
- The mess food of our college is not so good.
Placement Experience:
From the end of their 3rd year, students become eligible for placements. Many companies visited our campus and the total number of offers were around 400. Some notable companies are Google, Microsoft, Adobe and Amazon. Anout 60% of the students get placed. After getting the degree, I may go to some company or may do some research in Chemical Engineering.

- the teachers at iit madras are very knowledgeable and supportive especially in helping students with research , projects and career choices
- the green campus , great infrastructure.
- the campus life with plenty of clubs , fests and sporting events.
Dislikes
- the gender balance is highly uneven , with far fewer girls than boys
- certain administrative procedure , including approvals and hsotel formalities.
- the academic load at times is extrermely demanding
Placement Experience:
placements at IIT madras are really good , form 9th semester onwards, comapnies like microsoft and google come for placement , with the heighest offer beimg about 4.3 cr and
average 20-30lakhs. about of 90% students get placed . and i want to work in biotechnology or research .

- No strict rules are followed , people can give exams even they get P grades but they cannot hold any position of responsibility
- Semester is only for 4 months , will have 2 months semester holiday with hostel accomodation if required
- No curfew for students , entering and leaving campus is ease. At main part of chennai so feasible to phoneix mall, Velachery , Guindy , yaramani
Dislikes
- 4 months long semester holiday , profs are getting restricted amount of classes so they aren't able to teach at best
- AC is not available in 90% of classrooms .
- 2-3 events which u really need to attend happens at same time
Placement Experience:
People at end of second year start to apply for internship,
It is college with Highest package ever received in India 400lpa.
People do intership at summer break after 6th sem and sit for placement exams in 7,8th sema.
Placement team of IIT madras is vibrant community.pulls jobs with good pacakges

- The IITM campus is clean and green, it's basically built inside a forest, so the atmosphere is very peaceful.
- The infrastructure is really good and the lab facilities are wonderful.
- All faculties are PhD scholars and are well versed in their domain
Dislikes
- I do not like the teaching methodology of some of my faculties, even though they are highly knowledgeable.
- There will be too many events and activities happening at the same time, so it will be a bit difficult to manage academics and social life
- Sometimes, the exams will be on back to back days with less time to study

Placement Experience:
The placement opportunities are plenty at IITM. Since I am in my first year, I don't know much about placements but I have heard that top companies around the world come for placements.
The highest package this year was 4.3 crore per annum. The average salary in Electrical engineering is 22 LPA.
I plan to join a company and work for a few years and then decide what to do. I am not yet clear about my future plans.

- The things that I liked about my college is we have good social interconnection with everyone. We have many opportunities available inside our campus which helps us to have extra curricular activities.
- Also my college has a vast area so there are all the facilities available like any labs which are needed for every batch and have a football, basketball, badminton court and ground as well.
- Students can have relaxation time by involving in many activities and also the way is teaching is very nice which helps many of our seniors to conquer a good job having a good salary package.
Dislikes
- The things that I dislikes about my college is very few like there are only minimum number of classes available. We have class once or twice in a week.
- The other dislike the contacts with other department students is very less since we need travel a long distance to reach other departments.
Placement Experience:
The placements in our college is very good and having many companies which are offering high salary packages. Google,amazon, flipkart and many other higher companies have come to our college for campus placement. The students of our college are passionate and more than forty to fifty percentage of students get campus placement.

- No proper rainwater management system hence a little trouble in monsoon

- The bus facilities are worst. The most serious problem is language barrier, you cannot communicate with lower grade employees untill you don't know the Tamil language

Course Curriculum Overview:
Even though it's an online Degree, the environment is quite engaging. They divided students in 12 houses and organize many intra house competition to attain maximum participation of the students.
The flexibility, it allows us to choose how many courses one want to register according to their capability or time and even allows to pursue this any other Degree along with it.
Healthy discussion, they have a separate discussion forum where students can discuss anything either its about academics or their hobbies.
Since it's an online Degree with almost no entry barrier, many professionals are also pursuing it making an opportunity to make good connections with industry experts.

Course Curriculum Overview:
If we make a software. We need coding. So my choice is I am software engineer.
When I clean main entrance exame. The 3 attempt I had clear the exame. I had taken 4 years coaching continuously. After that My ranking below to 100.

I had choosen aerospace engineering because i have a huge intrest in the course of aerospace engineering so i took that course . The exams are very difficult it has its own level and its own standed .

- The peer group in the college is really good
- The faculty has got good expertise, although the quality of teaching isn't that good in class. However if you wanna collaborate with professors on projects, it's actually excellent.
- The campus has all the leading infrastructure and amenities you'll need. Including research labs, classrooms, 2 restaurants, 3 shopping centers, 2 hair salons and many more
Dislikes
- Even after the flexible courses, there's too much pressure in the core courses, which leads to a huge decrease in the overall gpa.
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester.
Many top companies like Google, microsoft, apple, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan visit the campus for placements.
The highest package I think was 4.3 crores bagged by a student in cs from Jane street trading. Average would be like 15 lpa.
Percentage of students getting placements would be like 60% cause many go for research or higher studies and don't sit for placements
I want to do an ms in some foreign University in cs related subjects after getting the btech degree

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.
The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.
Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.
