Life at IIT Madras by Sagnik Chakrabarty

Fees and Financial Aid:

In IIT Madras, I am paying a year-wise fees of 3 lakhs per year. I am not from any category and the overall fee structure for general candidates is the same as above. My batchmates who are of other categories pay an annual fee of 1 lakh per year including hostel and mess fees. Many loans and financial aids are available for students who are of category. Some mentionable loans are SBI Loan, ICICI Loan etc.

IIT Madras - How's it

For general/ OBC, the yearwise fees including tuition fees is like 3 lakhs While for SC/ST, the yearwise fees is like 1 lakhs Tuition fees : 8 lakhs for 4 years One time fees: 21000 (caution money, student welfare fund etc)

A freshies view on IIT MADRAS

The tution fees to general students is 273000 for the whole first year it includes all the fees except the hostel fees. The hostel fees for the whole first year will be 73746 including mess fees. The mess fess is around 34000 the rest are the different hostel fees. I can't comment on the fees in the remaining 3 years as i am a fresher only. There are a lot of different types of scholarships available to help the students in need of it. There are lots of different criterias to get the scholarships.

An Average Review of IIT Madras

So we have to pay tution fee,mess fees along with hostel fees and other hospital, exam etc. tution fees varies on catagory from 70k to 100k and the hostel and mess fees same for everyone, it is 32k per semester. There is mcm scholarship provide by college to some students in ehich mess fees is waived.

My Life at IITM

So, let's talk cash! Studying at IIT Madras isn't dirt cheap, but it's worth it. Fees might vary, and they have this policy where they bump it up a bit each year. But hey, don't freak out! They've got scholarships and financial aid to help out. I managed to snag the "Bright Future" scholarship and a part-time gig on campus. It pays some bills and gives you extra pocket money. So, it's doable, even if it's a bit tight sometimes. They provide no-interest educational loans to financially struggling students that the students can pau on their own time.

A Noobs Guide to IITM

Fee structure you will be spending around 28000 a semester including dining and accommodation. They didn't hike the fees after 2018 and It's been the same till 2023. IITM provides interest-free educational loan to those students whose family earns less than 5 lakhs.

Life in IIT Madras

The fees is almost stable and is around 1 lakh per semester. There is a reduction in fees based on the category and the financial status of the family. There was a hike in the fee since this year due to various reasons.

Genuine Review of IIT Madras

Hostel fees are the same for every category of students and it is about 60000 per year. Semester fees for general category students are about 2.4 Lakhs and for SC/ST it is about 16000 per year. Students can get educational loans easily upto 10 Lakhs. There are many scholarships in NSP students can apply for one. The scholarship amount is based on the scheme.
