CBSE has deleted around 15% of the Class 12 Mathematics syllabus for the 2024-25 session, highlighting important concepts and simplifying the academic burden.

The syllabus has been reduced to 6 main units this year from a wider range of topics, allowing students to focus more effectively on key areas.

According to the new syllabus, CBSE has deleted topics from major chapters such as Relations and Functions, Inverse Trigonometric Functions, Matrices, Determinants, Continuity and Differentiability, Three-Dimensional Geometry, Linear Programming, and Probability.

“During the 2023-24 session, 30% of the syllabus was reduced, while the syllabus of 2024-25 session was reduced by 15%, making it more organized and retaining the core concepts.”

How many chapters are in Maths Class 12 2025?

The CBSE Class 12 Maths Marking Scheme 2025 is formulated to evaluate students based on their conceptual knowledge and problem-solving ability. The theory paper is worth 80 marks, and 20 marks are for internal assessment.

  • 80 Marks for Theory Paper: The end board exam would be 80 marks which would include questions from all six units.
  • 35 Marks for Calculus: Calculus is assigned the highest weightage with 35 marks, ~44%, and is the most important unit.
