CBSE CLASS XII Questions

  • 1.
The ratio of the number of turns of the primary to the secondary coils in an ideal transformer is 20:1. If 240 V AC is applied from a source to the primary coil of the transformer and a 6.0 \( \Omega \) resistor is connected across the output terminals, then the current drawn by the transformer from the source will be:

      • 4.0 A
      • 3.8 A
      • 0.97 A
      • 0.10 A

    • 2.
Two conductors A and B of the same material have their lengths in the ratio 1:2 and radii in the ratio 2:3. If they are connected in parallel across a battery, the ratio \( \frac{v_A}{v_B} \) of the drift velocities of electrons in them will be:

        • 2
        • \( \frac{1}{2} \)
        • \( \frac{3}{2} \)
        • \( \frac{8}{9} \)

      • 3.
Ram and Shyam were partners in a firm sharing profits and losses in the ratio of 5 : 3. Mohan was admitted as a new partner for \( \frac{1}{5} \)th share in the profits of the firm. Mohan brought ₹ 2,50,000 as his share of capital and ₹ 2,00,000 as his share of goodwill premium. The value of the firm’s goodwill was :

          • ₹ 2,00,000
          • ₹ 4,50,000
          • ₹ 12,50,000
          • ₹ 10,00,000

        • 4.

An amount of ₹ 10,000 is put into three investments at the rate of 10%, 12% and 15% per annum. The combined annual income of all three investments is ₹ 1,310, however, the combined annual income of the first and second investments is ₹ 190 short of the income from the third. Use matrix method and find the investment amount in each at the beginning of the year.

            • 5.
A charge \( -6 \mu C \) is placed at the center B of a semicircle of radius 5 cm, as shown in the figure. An equal and opposite charge is placed at point D at a distance of 10 cm from B. A charge \( +5 \mu C \) is moved from point ‘C’ to point ‘A’ along the circumference. Calculate the work done on the charge.
              work done on the charge

                • 6.
Three students run on a racing track such that their speeds add up to 6 km/h. However, double the speed of the third runner added to the speed of the first results in 7 km/h. If thrice the speed of the first runner is added to the original speeds of the other two, the result is 12 km/h. Using the matrix method, find the original speed of each runner.
