ARSD, Delhi University: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 12 Reviews

The admission process at this college is straightforward, beginning in July, involving cutoff list checks, and submission of necessary documents, such as the 12th-grade marksheet and DU registration form. Those scoring around 88% in their exams typically secure admission. The faculty is highly qualified, with many holding PhDs, and actively supports students through effective teaching and engagement in various academic activities. The college offers a feasible fee structure, with the total cost for three years around Rs.

28,000, including exams, and the first-year fee about Rs. 8,000. However, it lacks onsite hostel facilities, requiring outstation students to seek alternative accommodation, often costing about Rs. 10,000 per month in nearby PGs. The college's placement cell is proactive in organizing an annual internship fair, featuring companies like Byjus, Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Deloitte, and KPMG. Average salary packages range from 7 to 11-12 lakh INR, while internship stipends vary between 10k to 30k INR per month.

Additionally, students can earn from internship roles, receiving 5,000 to 10,000 INR monthly. The college also provides opportunities for research and preparation for competitive exams. Various scholarships and fee concessions are available, mainly to economically weaker sections and reserved categories, though general category students receive none. Scholarships like the HANA scholarship are offered, and fee concessions range from ?500 to ?3,000. Courses such as English Honors typically have annual fees between ?14,560 to ?17,880, with extra costs for exams and practicals.

Students must actively seek and stay informed about these opportunities. Campus placements require a good CGPA and active participation in college societies. Overall, the college fees are affordable compared to private institutions, typically around ?15,000 annually, though this excludes additional expenses such as transportation.

The first year fee for my course English honours was ?14560 which I think is really affordable with regards to the current educational course prices Along with the course fees there is also an expense of ?2000 monthly on transportation. The college provides several scholarships and fee concession to the students with financial needs . Fee concession can range from 500 to 3000 . Scholarship such as HANA scholarship is provided to the deserving students Campus employment rate of the college is average, some students have bagged high packages but mostly it is medicore packages.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The annual fee of ?26,000 provides a reasonable structure for the course. However, it's important to consider the college's fees hike policy, as unexpected increases can impact students. I'm aware of any such policies and factor them into my long-term financial planning. While the college offers various scholarships and financial assistance programs, I, unfortunately, haven't been fortunate to receive any as of now. Even if there are scholarships, they don't provide them for GENERAL category students

Fees and Financial Aid:

Fees are not so high like it is 11000 or up to 15000. Examination forms are available and their cost is approximately 1000 depending upon what course you have opted for. For the practical exam, they charge 200 extra. The scholarship is also available but you have to be active and visit the office regularly and should have an idea about the scholarships available in college. Placement is also available in our college. For that, you must have a good cgpa. You should be hard-working. You should join a few societies which will help you later in your career. Overall, it can be said that if you have good marks and you pass the interview you can be hired for a job or internship. Few scholarships are there given by different companies and are for particular courses only. So you must be active in college to get updates about scholarships.
