The course is comparatively difficult. But the things we get to learn from this course is amazing and can provide real life applications. Also we learn a coding language or a practical component which increases our efficiency.

The course curriculum and faculty members both are appreciable. The Department's environment is a healthy space to nurture the self and grow with positivity. Staff is supportive and batchmates and seniors are also encouraging.
I chose Statistics honors over Mathematics (my second preference) as I felt Statistics is the real-world application of Mathematics. Besides, programming languages like R, C++, and SPSS are a part of our syllabus. However, one con about the course is that it is too theoretical. For someone who is more interested in learning the most popular programming languages, a Data Science course would be more suitable. Most of the faculty were highly qualified. They would encourage us to write research papers even if they weren't in our syllabus. In our final year, however, we did not have a professor for one subject and had to rely on notes from other college professors. I found the internal exams set harder than the end-term exams as fewer/no options are provided between questions.
My passion for the enigma of mathematics has always made me inclined towards this subject, to be honest. And getting an opportunity to pursue my interest from an institute like LSR, was no less than a dream come true. Getting to choose Mathematics Hons was like a cherry on the top of my cake (here LSR) As far as my experience till now, the faculty-student ratio is quite appropriate. There are two lecturers for each core subject. Needless to emphasize that the faculty here is highly qualified from top universities. Apart from being highly qualified, they have all the required attributes to be the "IDEAL GURUS". Humble, kind, loving and caring, understanding, and dedicated are the best-suited adjectives for them. Their passion, dedication, and their valuable efforts to make us understand are clearly reflected in their teaching method. Here they emphasize more on the conceptual and practical way of learning. The term exams were held timely and the difficulty level was moderate.
B.Sc. Mathematics has a vast scope in the field of banking, research, and specialization in particular subjects is always an option to choose for further graduation. The faculty-student ratio is very good and supportive as all teachers are cooperative and mainly focus on the analysis of the topic rather than theory. All professors have completed their Ph.D. and have amazing teaching methods as they explain topics using graphs and theorems which clear the mindset and gave rise to many perceptions which make the class very interactive. We have to give exams once at the end of 6 months semester. They were quite difficult to pass and score good marks but consistency could make it possible.
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Statistics is a three-year undergraduate degree course that offers insights into the subject of Statistics and focuses on collection, organization, presentation, analysis and interpretation of data. This course teaches students to understand past data records, analyze present scenarios and deduct future outcomes. LSR's qualified teaching faculty is knowledgeable and driven by the love of the subject. They try to make concepts as graspable as possible. Despite everything switching to the online mode suddenly, LSR's administration and faculty tried to ease the teaching-learning process. Quality education is what they strive for.
The fee structure for LSR is very feasible and being a govt college, its not very expensive. Including the hostel accomodation, it can come to maximum Rs 1lac in 3 years. Students belonging to SC/ST whose parents are not paying Income Tax are exempted from paying Tuition fee and Admission fee. However, they will have to pay the full amount at the time of admission. Refund of the Tuition fee and Admission fee will be given on submission of an application with necessary documents after the reopening of college. They will have to pay the other charges.
The fee structure is quite feasible. For all the facilities provided in the college, the fee is decent. The fee specifically for statistics is nearly 21000 annually. The fee includes the practical classes fee, the maintenance fee etc. The fee structures vary for pwd students. As it is a college under a government university the fee is very affordable.
The fee structure is available on the website. The LSR admin is always happy to answer fees / any other questions.
It is easy on parents pocket as loans are readily available for this prestigious institutes.
