Hindu College Scholarships: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 388 Reviews

Hindu College, part of Delhi University, offers various scholarships to support students financially. The annual tuition fees range from approximately Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 29,470, depending on the course and student category, with SC/ST students generally paying lower fees. Scholarships are available for meritorious students and those from economically weaker sections. Notable scholarships include the INSPIRE scholarship, offering up to Rs. 60,000 per year for science students, and the Raj Bhargava Foundation Scholarship, providing Rs. 75,000 for humanities students.

The college also offers need-based financial assistance and specific scholarships such as Premvati Raghubir Singh, R.B. Ram Kishan Das, and S.P. Raina Memorial Scholarships. Additionally, fees have seen a moderate increase due to policies like the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Living costs in Delhi, including hostel fees, are significant, but various scholarships and financial aids help mitigate the expenses for eligible students.

Fees and Financial Aid:

For B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics at Hindu College, the first?year fee I am paying is around ?31,370, including tuition and other compulsory college charges, and a similar amount is expected in second and third year, so the total course fee comes close to ?90,000–?95,000 for three years. The college is a government?funded DU institution, so even though the amount has increased slightly over the last few years, it is still comparatively affordable when seen against many private colleges that charge much higher fees for the same course. Tuition plus exam, library and other funds together stay around ?29,000–?32,000 per year, making it manageable for a middle?class family, especially for SC category students who often pay on the lower side of this band. Hindu College also offers several scholarships and fee concessions on merit?cum?means basis, and SC students can additionally apply for central and state scholarships like the Top?Class SC scheme, which can cover a large part of tuition and reduce the net burden further

Fees and Financial Aid:

The year wise fees that I paid is 27000 Rupees. Though the college holds some scholarships which the students can enroll while studying in the college. One such scholarship is Raj Bhargava Scholarship. Apart from this, the fee varies for different categories, for example, the foreign students are charged almost double than tha Indian students. If a student is an orphan, he has to pay almost negligible amount. Within these two years, I experienced a little hike in the fees which is normally acceptable. But the overall average remains 27000 Rupees only.

As far as I know the College conducts a test for a scholarship called Raj Bhargav Scholarship which is only available to Humanities students. It reduces the fee by 50% if someone secures it. Yes the course fee has increased in the last few years.

27000 per year for BSc chemistry hons. It is of an affordable range in my pov.Other courses have different fees which is usually less than 27k (for Arts) as they don't have to pay lab fees. There are so many scholarships provided and the one I am aware is the Inspire Scholarship for students who received 95 percent and above in cbse 12th board exam.

Hindu College is North Campus topmost college. Well the debate will always be on and the fees also varies as if you are from Delhi you have to pay 25000 while i am from outside Delhi so my fees is around 28k a year. However, the scholarship for lower caste students remains the same that is nearly half of what general category student pays.
