Course Curriculum Overview

5

Ba hons economics is one of the rapid growing as well as demanding topics of the country now and i am from commerce background and was always keen to learn more and more about the econmy and its models , this course and its structure introduces us woth the models of various economists and thier point of views for vaious problems in economy and our couse helps us to get to mnow how to deal with the problems and reach to a solution to such problems and to get a sight of real world situations and the implementation of such models in present world too , the one thing feel about to be changed is some of the introductory chapters of stats and economics which are not of much use in the further semisters , the difficulty is mid as one have to practise questions and case studies to ace thier concepts, we have a semister for about 5-6 months and hence we have 2 semister exams per year and it makes it equivalent to 6 semisters in 3 years we have also been offered 4 th year for research.

Internships Opportunities

4

As mentioned previously the society and the colleges attract many comapnies for recruiting freshers 2 nd and 3 rd year students for various educational and inductive internships by giving them a good amount as stipend , there is regualr infusion of internship opportunities within the campus we have Disha the placement cell in our college which brings in the major internship programmes to the college . I am not involved in any internship since i want to work more and more to develpo new skills and area of expertise along with develping my soft and hard skills .

Placement Experience

Hindu college , north campus Delhi has many societies like Finance and investment cell , 180 DC , Enactus , Entrpeneurship cell , Placement cell , Internship cell and many more which provides a wide spectrum of opportunities as well as exposure to the members and students of hindu college in general the average package of hindu eco hons is 9 lakhs inr , and many big companies and mnc's are ready to take up the students into their companies from Hindu college campus and the package could exceed up to 38 lakh inr after ug , hence thier are a lot of opportunities for students being in the campus

Fees and Financial Aid

Hindu College is a Government college in north campus Delhi , since admission to such Delhi university colleges is done via a Commom Univercity Entrance Test (cuet) , the fees is comapritively on the lower end which makes it affordable , i am pursuing BA ECONOMICS HONS. for which i have paid ?30,000 for first year i.e 2 semesters , thier is no other extra fee payment to be done other than this , for the next 2 years we will be charged the same amount of money per year , one of my friend has opt for bcom hons and he has paid a fee of ?29,000 which is very close to what i paid so yess fees here is very affordable and do not cause any type of financial distress caused just by the college fee

Campus Life

5

Hindu is know for one of its major annual events i.e MECCA which is one of the biggest annual events of northcampus delhi and is spread across the 25 acres land of Hindu College campus , other than that thier are major as well as minor festive events as well as many many societies events workshops and seminars being held on a regular basis , in short there is a lot going on in the campus whole year and the vibe never goes off , the society and clubs are too good and the senior and core invoved is also very friendly helpful and they would also help us to reach our maximum potential via many projects along with skill development programmes , along with that hindus infrustructure has inbuild smart classes along with ac classrooms seminar halls , a relaxo research centre Mpfy threatre 2 canteens 2 auditoriums nurseries fishponds old as well as new academic blocks and all of this is being given a finished look by covering it with green trees and flora all around the campus !

Admission

I have had applied to many colleges but i chose Hi du College over other colleges as it is one of the most prestigious colleges and is Nirf 1 ranking in India for arts and sciences college aling with that the affordability and infrustructure faculty as well as events fests and annual workshops in addition to that the placement and internship opportunities are pretty high along with that the recruitment from big 4's and amny more key aspects makes Hindu superior from major colleges and hence the reason for me to opt for the same .

Faculty

4.5

In Ba eco hons the girl boy ratio is 51:49 which is near approx equal boys and girls in the campus the faculty student ratio is 2:80 i.e 1:40 , we have 3 core subjects mathematics statistics and micro economics in 1 semester and the teachers are highly educated and have completed thier education from abroad , one of my favourite teacher is mrs. Niti Bhutani maam who is our MME (mathematical methods of economics ) teacher , she has compled her education from Maryland USA and her teaching style and attitude towars the students is very genuine and kind ! We give our semister exams on schedule other than that we are also required to give 2 out of 3 internal assisments as well as continuous assisments on major topic on regular basis , we are also given points for doubt solving and raising questions in classes .

university of delhi have have started compulsory of courses such as VAC ,SEC and many other skill enhancement courses so that you not only rely upon your degree but you enhance your Interpersonal Skills , Communication Skills ,Speaking Skills as in future all jobs and placements are skill based not degree based so for enhanceing and developing a good personality these courses played a major role. The timings of examination were between 2,30-5,30 Pm 3 hours exam water facility was provided during the exam tenure. If in case you forgot to attend or submit your either of IA/CA you may get an essential repeat er even iof you pass in the written exam .

There were placement Cell initially in JNU that conduct placement but due to most people don't sit for that while persue higher studies that's why it works very slow, they tries to make placed all those students with higher CGPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The reason why I choose this subject because I like history and want to know more about it . History have the best opportunities to pursue the UPSC , Anthropology, archeology and we can learn more about historical researches . The faculty im the department of history is updated and well versed in the field of history and have adopted student friendly teaching methods which make me suggest this subject in JMC to the students who likes to pursue higher studies in history. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester with moderate difficulty level .
