Course Curriculum Overview

4

The main reason why I opted the BSc program course over B.sc honours is that it gave me the flexibility to choose either of the physics chemistry or maths as my Master's core subject. The curriculum offers real world problems as numericals and some core concepts too which aid me in the real world applications. I think this course is at a perfect balance between all 3 core science subjects and doesn't require much improvements As it is a Prog course, so the exams aren't that difficult as compared to hons and the exams are taken by university after 6 months that gives us enough time to complete the syllabus and prepare for the exam.

Internships Opportunities

2

Abhyas - The Internship Cell organizes annual internship fair and it's recent partners were OYO, EY and Zomato. It also provided year round opportunities in various fields like marketing, graphic designing, content writing, etc. The average stipend is around Rs. 40000 per month.

Placement Experience

5

The students become eligible for placements after second year or even third year. Companies like Google, Deloitte, KPMG, HDFC Bank, Maruti Suzuki, McKinsey, etc visited our college for placements and recieved over 200 placement offers in the latest year 2025. Highest package of Hindu College is 36.5 LPA and the average package is 11.4 LPA. Hindu College has a high placement rate of 95% of eligible students securing a placement here. My plan is to prepare for UPSC or SSC-CGL after my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fees for my course at Hindu College, Delhi University is Rs. 29865 and it isn't increasing for me but for the freshers it was around 30200. Out of this Rs 29685, 1. College tuition fees - Rs. 180 2. University Student Welfare Fund - Rs. 250 3. Student Welfare Fund - Rs. 2580 4. University Development Fund - Rs. 1500 5. College Development Fund - Rs. 8800 6. University Facilities and Service Charges - Rs. 1500 7. College Facilities and Service Charges - Rs. 14765 8. EWS Support Welfare Fund - Rs. 250 9. Delhi University Student Union - Rs. 40 My batchmates fees are almost the same as mine. Yes, there are several scholarships but there amount are less than Rs. 1000 as they were launched few decades ago. But there is a scholarship of Rs. 70K but only for Humanities students and they are very few in number.

Campus Life

5

There's a annual college fest, Mecca which is famous all over Delhi University and has a vast budget of around a crore and is held in March- April. Along with Mecca, several events like Suruchi(Diwali Fair) and Vaktavya(Speaker's Session) are also organised. There are a wide range of books and journals available in the college library and around 10 different newspapers are kept in the library daily for readers. Honestly speaking, less than half of the classes are air conditioned but overall the infrastructure of the classrooms is quite good as there is a newly built seperate block named as Sangneria Science Block. The college ground is mostly busy hosting some inter college matches and some championships of Volleyball, Basketball, etc Yes there are more than 50 societies run by the students itself and it is in every field you can think fo like from fashion society to environment society, social service society, NSS to cadet corps society, NCC all.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, I'm in a rented PG and rent is Rs. 15000 excluding electricity which is costing me around Rs. 14 per unit. The facilities they provide me is a Single bed, a table, a wardrobe, 4 times meal, wifi connection, a common area to hangout, a TV, a table tennis setup, a lift (as my room is on 4th floor), etc The meal quality is okayish and the menu is also good. I have rented my PG in the Vijay Nagar, Old Gupta Colony which is around 1.3 kms away from my college.

Admission

Apart from Hindu College, i applied for a admission in Chemistry hons course at Banaras Hindu University and Allahabad University and I got the confirmed admissions in both but I chose Hindu College over others bcz of its reputation, NIRF topper(NIRF 1 all over India),etc. No, I didn't get any rejection from any college i applied for. To get admission in Hindu College, you need to appear for the CUET exam and get a good score, the the Delhi University opens its admission portal as DU-CSAS on which u need to register and apply for a seat and the process contains three phases : Phase 1 - Form Filling, Phase 2 - Preference Filling, Phase 3 - Result of the Allocation

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio is in between 1:20 to 1:30. The faculty is quite friendly and it's very easy to approach faculty for any sort of task and they try to understand our situation and help us handle the situation too. Prof. Samriddhi, who is a faculty at Maths Department and Prof Sriparna Dutta, who is a faculty at Chemistry Department are the best teachers who have taught me in college till now as they are very friendly and the way of their teaching is quite unique and easily understandable. There are two semester exams in a year and several class tests as CA(Continuous Assesment) and IA( Internal Assessment) which occur in each semester.

Night Life

5

Yes there is a gym in college campus which is opened for students and its free of cost. Also the college has two cafeterias and both the cafeterias are quite affordable. Also there is a three floors library and some public lawns for the students to hangout and a girls common room. Yes there's a girls hostel in the college campus and the boys hostel is under renovation and will be open by 2026. Yes, thers Sudama's Tea stall nearby along with Tom Uncle's Maggi Point and some other hangout spots too. Yes, the locality is insanely safe to roam around at night with regular patrolling by police by 3-5 Patrol cars.

Acharya Narendra Dev College - [ANDC], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Biomedical Sciences)
Reviewed on Mar 3, 2026(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.
