Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is strictly designed in accordan coce to industry standards and with a strong focus on research related aspects. There are General Electives across semesters wherein you can opt for courses across departments and build strong expertise in other fields alongside your parent course. Student are exposed to mandatory AECC courses (Environmental Sciences) for holistic development. There could be some improvement in creating more engaging classes. Exams and practicals are timed as per DU official calendar and helps students earn credits and move onto next semester with ease.

Internships Opportunities

5

Companies offer paid internship roles here with stipends ranging from somewhere around 10k to 25k and even more for roles across content, digital marketing, finance related roles among others. The placement cell takes efforts in ensuring student complete their assigned roles that they've signed up for without fail to be eligible for payouts. There is also a system of blacklisting students for further placements who fail to deliver their promises or fail to show up for the roles after successfully completing onboarding.

Placement Experience

5

There is a proctive college placement cell tied to every department and every semester/batch students via a placement coordinator who facilitates communication between the cell and students. Students are eligible for paid internships early in their college tenure, with placements following later. KPMG, upGrad Campus, Collegedunia, Deloitte are some of the large number of visiting companies and they offer guaranteed placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

In an average, 15-19k is the yearly combined college fees amounting to a total of 45-65k approx. for a three year period of college (subject to change after the introduction of FYUP program). There is an examination fees paid per semester typically ranging from 1500-1700. Hostel fees is completely separate from the academic fees. There are also addition charges for science courses (lab fees, practical examination charges, etc.) Overall, it is a highly affordable college under University of Delhi with ample scope for merit and need based scholarships.

Campus Life

5

Nexus is the annual college fest gathering huge crowds and renowned artists with fun filled fairs, exhibitions, cultural shows and whatnot. Library is well stocked and organized with silent reading and working rooms. Classrooms are modern are tech savvy. There are a number of recognized clubs and socities in the college, which help in all around development of the students. Admission

I applied to Tezpur University, Cotton College, Fergusson College and also Sri Venkateswara College. I got into all of them except Tezpur Uni, and also got through Ramjas College and Kirorimal College. I choose Venky for being exposed to a diverse, inclusive, elite campus filled with intellectual minds. Also, the relative peace of South Campus was another star factor in influencing my choice. The admission procedure during my time was simply merit based focussing on 12th percentage, however, now CUET Scores determine which college and course you'd be eligible for.

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student ratio is roughly 1:22. The professors across departments are highly approachable and friendly. My Department of Zoology is filled with expert faculty members with strong research backgrounds and can provide you ample scope for research initiatives and interships under their guidance. Exams, practicals are structured in a coherent and streamlined manner with almost around 99.9% passing rate.

Interview Experience

5

No such rounds for admission. It was rather direct. Admission for me was completely merit-based and focused on 12th-grade percentage. However, the present scenario might differ after the introduction of CUET UG.

Night Life

4

Hostel curfew starts at 9 PM focussing on the safety of hostel students. Hostel Campus is green and clean with parks and playgrounds, basketball courts, badminton court, cricket fields, etc. There is a cafeteria, canteen with diverse options to opt from. A small dedicated temple of Lord Venkateswara is located within the college. There are a number of hangout places nearby- Satyaniketan for nightlife, eatout and strolling; South Campus for greenery.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
