Course Curriculum Overview

2

We have 3 DSC subject that are related to our subject for eg in math honours there are 3 maths subjects that we study but apart from that we also have AEC, SEC ,VAC .There is no isse with DSC because we have choosen that course because we want to study but other subject are of no use there is only 1 class help in week of these subjects so only 4 class in 1 month so what we can expect to study in4 days in entire sem there are only 16 lecture some of which cancelled.Therse subjects only waste our time as get too many assignments and practicals to make and we don't get enough time to prepare for DSC subject. So i feel instead of these subjects there should be something that is helpful for students.

Placement Experience

3

Most of the placements are from Bcom coures and Bsc stats honors ,BA courses doesn't promote much placement.Being in Hindu College we can make carrier in our specific courses but also apart from that societies here help in personality development and skill enhancement which prepare us for future.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am pursuing Bsc (H)- Mathematics from Hindu College. My fees for 1st year is 28000Rs apart from which we have to examination fees that is Rs 1400-1600 depending upon your subjects whether they are theory or practical. If I am compare my fees with students of courses like BA or BA(H) then it is comparatively higher .Fees of these courses ranges between 20000-22000 and for courses like sanskrit honors fees is even less than this it is around 17000rs .Also if I compare fees of my college with other colleges than it is comparatively higher even for same courses and also each year our fees is increasing in last 2 year fees for our course has increased by about 3000Rs .Even though there are also various scholarships provided such as Late Shri Ram Kishan Das Jain Memorial Scholarship in which 3000 Rs are given to students. There are also various other Scholarship such as Inspire which provides 1lakh 60 thousand for 3year but it on basis of class 12th percentage. But I feel we are studying in government college and here students comes from different backgrounds so fees should be feasible and should not keep increasing this way

Campus Life

5

DU north campus provided us a really gud social environment as people here from different states and places we get to interect with them know about their culture. There are many scooti in college such as dance society, music society,NSS, Debating Society and many more which help student to enhance their skills. Also college has gud sports complex and gud facility for certain games like basketball, football but there is no badminton court. Also college keep organising events like tree planting, cultural programmes to engage students.Classrooms are gud but there are no AC which become problematic during summers

Admission

We get admission in most of the college now through CUET exam which is held in May and based on your score in that exam and cutoff of colleges we get admission. My first preference was St.Stephan college but didn't got that it's cutoff was 698/800 while hindu college cutoff was 692/800 so I got Hindu college. Most prefered courses are BA Honors , Bcom that is why cutoff of these courses is high while science courses cutoff is less comparatively. In terms of colleges North Campus college such Stephan ,Hindu ,SRCC ,Hansraj ,Miranda have high cutoff as compared to South Campus colleges.

Faculty

5

We study 7 subject and in our class there are 60 students and for each subject we are assigned a teacher who are very helpful. They guide us with our subject and also help us to understand . In each year 2 times sem exams are conducted and other than that there are assignment and tests held. The exams are not too difficult they are set keeping all students in mind. But I don't find course curriculum relevant as we are studying too many extra subject which I don't find of much use.

Night Life

4

In north campus there are various hangouts places .My fav is Kamala Ridge which is a walkout place full of trees and beauty.Near college there is Kamala Nagar which is full of cafes and eating stalls .Libraries are there in colleges and closing time is 5pm .During day time north campus is safe but at night for girls it is not safe to walk alone but there is no such issue if ur with a group of people.

I will rate 10 out of 7 to this course curriculum because in this course the experiment and lab works is too low as compare to another courses like biomedical science, bsc zoology and many more. But it's ok I'm happy with this course.

Students become eligible for placements on the 3rd year, we have decent placement opportunities but not the best, highest package is around 15 lakhs. Companies that visit are Bain and Co., Urban Clap etc. average package is around 5 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree are getting into a master's programme and pursuing research.
