Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is as highly comprehensive in nature and almost consisted of all the major parts of the vast subject of literature hence I chose this course. However this course prepares you very well for real-world life applications very well as it teaches you what it means to be a human and what it means to live in a social environment and academic pursuits can also be very well followed up as the masters exams follow the same curriculum as we are taught. Areas of improvement would only include a space to a little practicality should be given even in these highly theoretical papers. The frequency and timing of exams according to their difficulty is very appropriate if not more, it is very doable.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of companies come for handing our internships like Deloitte, Urbanic, Lenskart etc and they usually offer a stipend of 10k-25k for a period of 1-3 months. Societies like Enactus also get a good attention from companies because of their social welfare driven projects like khadi India bed sheet program, handicraft program etc
Placement Experience
From 5th semester students become eligible for college placements. Some companies that have visited as of now are Bain, Goldman sacs, NAMO, Deloitte etc and students have gotten pretty good offers as well. Although the percentage of students getting the placements are obviously low as it is primarily a social science college. I plan on going for masters in international relations after my graduation
Fees and Financial Aid
Admission fees is what the first year fees will be and it won't be taken again and will be counted as your fees for first year and for all the respective years it'll have to be repaid at the start of each year which is approx ?22k which is subject to which category you belong to, ?22k is charged for general category student apart from that lab and examination fees are also there that are charged every semester as per the paper that you're giving in that semester and is respective to it. And there are also various scholarships schemes that are given by the college itself for example the Raj Bharva annual scholarship is given to few students with exemplary performance and consists a good prize amount.
Campus Life
The name of our Annual fest is Mecca and it is one of the biggest and the best college rest of Delhi with artists like Mohit Chauhan, sunidhi Chauhan performing. And a lot of department n societies parties are also there. Library collection is very good and you can find books from all disciplines and ranges. Classrooms have projectors and good facilities. Sports and extra activities are given good emphasis and competitions for the same are conducted throughout the year.
Admission
Their was no choosing one over the other I was allotted this course and college as it was the foremost in my preference list and as to why was it in the first place was simply because I wanted to have a bachelors degree in literature and Hindu college was simply the best there was. I did not get any rejection as my marks were very high hence I got into the college and course with the highest cutoff. The admission process is very simple you have to give the Cuet exam that nta organises and prepare a preference list for the colleges and course that you want and your marks will decide which one you get.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is very good, there are enough if not more faculty to manage the syllabus very effectively if our course. I'll refrain from taking names for privacy sake but there are many faulties who are very learned and the best of their discipline and always ready with a knee bent to help students overcome their problems. But there are some bad apples as well who don't take serious approach towards their work and use students as a platform for exerting their anger and arrogance. Every year two semesters, every semester almost 6-7 papers which are quite easy and does not require a lot of preparation and is very doable with only 2-3 weeks of good preparation, students rarely fail in the exams and even if they do they are given the opportunity to clear their backlog. Course curriculum is very relevant for the particular discipline and is designed by the DU panel which is considered to be the best in the nation
