Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is basically design to study economics in a depth so that the understanding of student related to world economic, how economics work , how it affect an individual etc increase and he can work more efficiently to give theories and work in the companies related to economics. The curriculum includes value added course and skill enhanced courses that help us to learn different types of skills that are required in the real world applications. Improvement in these can be done by asking the student to apply all these into real life and connect students with the real life approaches related to the course. For core subjects the timing of paper is 3 hours and for sec and vac courses the timing of paper is 1 hour.

Internships Opportunities

3

Intership opportunity are given by colleges as Vice Chancellor Intership which is given to 2nd -3rd year students with a stipend of 5500/ and Vice Chancellor Intership for last year students with stipend of 20000/. These are provided by University of Delhi to all the colleges of the university.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am Priyanshi Sharma currently studying in Shyam Lal College of University of Delhii. My first year fees of college was 23500 , and my fees of my second year is 24500 . This amount includes tution fees , admission fees , development fees, ab fees and the other compulsory charges. The fees of my batchmates for other categories are also same as mine. This year I got book aid fund of 500 by the college for buying necessary books and readings. And like these many other scholarships are given by the college like Dean's welfare, etc.

Campus Life

4

Annual fests of college is not so good as compared to North campus, but the fests are conducted in a well manner and everything is done appropriately. We have a ground where any concerts and others are held. And many other activities and programs are conducted by the societies and also prizes are given in some of them. All of these are held perfectly and are very enjoyable. Completions are also held by the societies which are very interesting to participate. And workshops and other sessions are also held timely.

Admission

I was applying for North or south campus colleges but I got this. When I joined the college I realised that it is not that bad as compared to other colleges.t he faculty really impressed me so much regarding to liking this college comparing with others. my cuet score was not that high that's why I got rejected from other colleges. The admission process of our college is simple when the collyis alloted we have to deposit the given fees in beythw days to confirm our admission, if fees is not submitted then the admission can get cancelled. And after this we can join the college as a regular student and we have to verify some of our essential documents at the office.

Faculty

5

Our Economics department facility is very good and also very helpful towards us. Tecahers of our course provide full support and held responsibility towards student's study. They held regular lecture and even tutorials ( doubt classes) for students to help them to understand or work on the topic efficiently. Gunjan ma'am who teyus statistics in sem I and Ii and now teaches us Advance mme in sem III is a very good teacher as she teaches us very efficiently and also help us to solve questions related to the topic so that we can understand the topic and she also tries to connect the subject with the real economy of country and teaches us how to solve it in similar cases. All the other teachers are also good and all teaches us with responsibility. We have 7 papers. 3 are of our core subject which are macro / micro , mme , statistics and for sem III they are Advance macro , advance micro , advance mme . All the subjects are difficult but not so difficult to study . As a student advance mme is a subject which requires more concentration and solving for the student.

Night Life

1

Nightlife around my college is not so good as it comes near shahdara district so it is not safe to roam around. As we have both morning and evening college so the library is only accessible for morning students till 4pm. And their is mainly building area not hostel areas around the college. All the students either lives in og or rent out flats. And their is not so many hangout places near colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The ba programe here is little different from other colleges accross the country. The curriculum is quite diversified. If you are intrested in arts , there is lot to learn. If one want to become writter or any thing related to literature , or want to become historian , geo-politics expert, etc. The course is quite good. The exams held every four and a half or five months and the difficulty level is moderate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Like this course is about rights and authorities which is very important for everyone nowadays and specially when you are a girl so that nobody couldn't dominate you. We read about what were the past sceniors towards the lower castes or women which is also happens in most of the states and cities but this curriculum taught us whats the reality of the world and how to be independent and how to protest for our rights . Even we can more learn about this if the faculity organises those things via presentation or streamings with some videos so it will be more helpful in our exams too!!

English honours was my first preference because I like to read and write. Analysing texts is something I was always fond of and with the guidance of my professors it's become more fun. The course has not much placements opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Coming to english hons I had a little different expectations and this turned out to be a little different, This course is too much till where I have studied is inclined towards literature which sometimes students do not like. There are many subjects inside the core, but subjects like literary studies caught lot of attention due to it's attractiveness and different perspectives. Sometimes things go a lot off syllabus which disrupts mindful learning but thankgod it's just 30-40% of it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is not updated . Teachers uses old method of teaching on pen and paper. Like in statistics now various tools are available in market and instead of making us learn those tools teachers are teaching the most basic things on pen and paper. But the course is very demanding nowadays.
