A honest and raw review on ground level reality of hansraj college delhi university

Likes

Diversity is the best thing of hansraj college you get friend circle of almost from every domain and its really great for holistic development
The student union and its management is really great and they work for students problems
Ofcourse infrastructure, its the best. Every classroom has ACs and floor , building and everything else is well maintained and cleanliness is on top never seen such green lushy and clean college campus in delhi university

Dislikes

Timetable management is little off side for Students perspective but its hard for them as well to manage time for so many courses and classrooms with their respective faculty

The placement are active for demanding courses like Bsc and bcom and economics honours only rest of the courses aren't given placements. Companies hire students on the basis of their skills set and educational background

The buzz: Uncovering Hansraj

Likes

The infrastructure was absolute state- of- art in the new C- block
The teaching faculty was very helpful and motivating
Ease in locating the college and affordable transportation

Dislikes

The admin department of the college does not cooperate
The student council also does not contribute
The principal is forever absent from college

Placement Experience:

There is no placement support from my college for my specific course . I plan to pursue civil services after completing my graduation from Hansraj,. Other than my course , students usually get elegible for most placements during their third semester

Hansraj Chapter

Likes

The Hansraj College campus is pretty much holistic and gives a peaceful vibe.
The campus area is also big of about 15 acres which provides facilities such as cafeteria, library, playground etc.
Teaching methodology of teacher is also pretty good and they teach in laymen language which helps student grasp concepts from its roots.

Dislikes

The clubs and communities especially in my college are not developed till such extent that it can solely land up internship opportunities to students.
The foods and beverage prices are pretty much high in canteen making it unaffordable for many students.
Office work which need less work still take so much time.

Placement Experience:

Placements of my college is pretty much decent and placement percentage for courses such as BCom hons and Economics hons etc. is 60% and average package is 9,00,000 pa and highest package is 36,50,000 pa

Hansraj college - overview

Likes

Being in hansraj campus always feels so refreshing. The open spaces , greenery and lively student vibe makes every day enjoyable, hansraj have been a second home to me , the campus gives a sense of comfort and belonging.
I love the canteen culture at my college. With 5 different canteens , there's always something for every mood . They are not just food spots but places where friendships grow and memories are made for me .
The sports facilities and gym help me stay active and refreshed. Whether it's playing on the field or working out , these spaces bring balance to college life beyond just academics

Dislikes

That we are not allowed to enter to some gardens and green spaces in front of A block

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a athlete myself i always had a intrest in physical education as it defines key aspects of my career and my body so learning physical education was always in one of my interests the faculty for this is really encouraging and helps in whatever expects i need . Coming to philosophy it defines the way of life and how one should act or live in his or her life so as an athlete learning philosophy was nice aspect for me as it will tell the way how i should act and be in real life , the curriculum also helps me in real world applications the physical education helps me to learn about my body and how to take care of it and how to repair it if a injury happens coming to philosophy it makes me calm and helps in decision making , for me the curriculum is upto date just there once thing that I want to be done is that more practical experience in physical education especially. Per sem there are done 2 exams and there difficulty level is moderate.

Vibrant societies and provides immense exposure
We are beneficiaries of official government schemes
The environment is very open and inclusive to all

Dislikes

Management is unreliable and not very supportive
Attendance criteria is too hard to make up for
The entire campus is very small and should be bigger

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is a little bit outdated but is being worked upon regularly. The fundamentals are taught well and is good for covering basic knowledge but not enough to be applied in real worldbut the teachers help us throughout.

ALMOST PERFECT COLLEGE IN DELHI

Likes

Food, but don't recommend meals on Friday or Thursday, i don't know why but tastes a little weird.
Time & Space for fun activities to refresh your mood after hours and hours of study
Teacher - Student relationship, here professors are really helpful.

Dislikes

Sometimes i see garbage bins empty and area around if full of trash and it takes like 1 hour for cleaning staff to notice it and clean it.
Bullying is kinda ignored here, all those high status kids bully others and teachers sometimes just walk past them.

Placement Experience:

In my batch, after the completion of 3 years you could go for post graduate courses or opt for placements which were most of the time in colleges or other educational institutions. I remember the least package was like 8 lpa and highest was 40 lpa or something. I never opted for placements because i had other plans in further studies but have heard from others that students are getting placed in good institutions as teachers or other faculty member with really good packages like 6 lpa or 8 lpa as freshers salary.

My Hansraj life

Likes

Personally I liked library of hansraj college because it is a quiet place to to study in your free time and it have lot's of books on every stream to boost your knowledge
The second think i like is LP area where there is lots of social interaction with other stream students irrespective of their gender.
The staff is also very Friendly and they encourage students to choose your long term goals

Dislikes

The wifi connectivity in Library and limited availability of seats in Library
The gym is only open for the students who is in any sports

Course Curriculum Overview:

I pursue BA programme in HISTORY and ECONOMICS. It is course of my choice because i want to clear UPSC in my first attempt after the completion of 3 year college degree. This course is over-all better because there is no deep study in it and assignments are also Easy and less time consuming. And the life time is used for social interactions and other enjoyment of college life. The degree have 6 semester of 3 years . Each semester have 1 semester ending exams First in January and second in june. The exams is not that much difficult because only some self study and attention in class can achieve you higher marks.

Hansraj: Naam Toh Suna Hi Hoga

Very clean and green infrastructure, the buildings are well maintained and regular cleaning takes place.
We have got 3 small cafés to chill after classes and a reasonably priced college canteen with good food options and tastes also good.
a two story library for students with quite a good collections of books. Very useful for college and entrance exam preparations. The library is also opted with free wifi and a computer for personal use.

Dislikes

The management can be really unhelpful at times and can make your problems even worse and be really unhelpful sometimes.
The college playground which is obviously for students to play is mostly closed due to maintenance, it's like closed 60 percent of the time maybe even 70 percent. Where do we play then? In the classrooms?
If someone ever forgets their id cards, they can't enter through the addmission slip which is online and a proof that we are for sure students of this college and a student might have to go back to bring the id card for entry.

Placement Experience:

I personally don't know much about how does the placement in my college works, but we do have a placement cell which helps students get placements and internships. That's all I know about the placements part in the college. But most of the students and my fellow classmates doesnt seem to care about the placement from the college part and are more focused on the government exams including myself. I plan on giving UPSC and CDS and if I get selected then well and good else I plan on giving banking sectors exams, railways and mass media. I'll be doing some part time job(s) after college to support myself and preparing for these exams side by side.

B.A. in Hansraj: A Journey

Likes

Faculty at Hansraj College possess strong academic backgrounds and engaging teaching methods. I appreciate the teacher's and professor's mentorship and their guidance for projects.
The college has a inclusive campus life alongwith numerous societies, events and cultural fests. This allows us to explore our interests beyond academics.
The college consists well-maintained classrooms, a well-stocked central library and a clean and green campus, providing a positive learning environment.

Dislikes

The capacity of college hostel is limited, and also off-campus housing (living in PG) cam be expensive for some students.

College has a placement cell that actively brings the recruiters from diverse sectors like consulting, finance etc. Students become eligible for placements in the final year of their degree. The average placement package is decent, however, it can vary depending on course and performance.

Likes

The college infrastructure is too good. The amenities includes AC classes, canteen, library, food outlets, auditorium, etc.

Dislikes

The college administration is relatively strict.

Placement Experience:

The placements in our college is fantastic. I am a part of the placement cell and I think I will be a good fit for this answer. The Average package is around 8LPA, Highest being 23 LPA for 2024 batch. Normally more consulting roles are offered to students in Tier 1 firms.

One of my friends graduated with a B.A Economics (H) from Hansraj last year. So, I think I can answer your question.

Here are some of the best things about the institute.

This college has an ‘old world’ feel. The infrastructure of the college is great.
The fee structure is affordable as compared to other private colleges.
It has some incredible graduates, including Shahrukh Khan, Ranvijay, and Anurag Kashyap. The list is really long.
Amazing crowd, the individuals here are both fun and hardworking at the same time. Admission is based on merit in qualifying examinations.
Some of our professors are truly amazing, you will not find such professors at other colleges, even SRCC.
There are many societies to explore like dramatics, photography society, and fine arts society, etc.
The hostel was my friend’s home for three years, and there is simply no better place to stay when studying at Hansraj. However, it doesn’t have a girls’ hostel.
North Campus has the best college location.

You will not regret choosing the institute.
