One of the main reason is FMS has a good alarm network. So, that is one thing. 2nd thing is I talk to some of my seniors and people who were already in the college, They told me about there experience and that was one thing that motivated me. I think the 3rd was location, the location is very good.

Remarks:

The main reasons were one is I'm a fresher and I always has thought of marketing of the entire course I had before. FMS is one of the best marketing campuses in India. So, definitely, that was the one reason which I choose for pursuing marketing. The second is ROI. Somebody like me who has a tight budget and has to look at a lot of assets and that of burden, in that case, ROI really helps. It helps me to become independent, and I don't have a big loan or big burden or moving forward. The third factor is the FMS criterion that is so well for my academics or my career. I started my entire Cat preparation because stories of candidate how they perform in FMS. It's like FMS doesn't have such a committee but student are resilient. This resilient nature helps in a future career as well. So, looking for it, FMS was the one place I had to be with.

From the beginning, FMS was one of my topmost desired colleges. One of the main points of FMS is its RY. For a total of 2 years, the tuition fee is 2 lakh rupees, compare to any IIM it is really really cheap.

Remarks:

First of all, I wanted to get into FMS because the investment is nearly good because we are paying only 2 lakh for 2 years. And If we compare any criteria with other premium B-Schools it is at par. It is at par with IIM Lucknow, XLRI. Here placements are at par with them. So, mainly students choose because of placements the placement is really good.

Remarks:

I got admission to IIM Lucknow this year. Thought the main reasons were-it provides you quite flexibility, you are not under the financial burden. So the financial freedom offers, the fee structure is one of the primary reasons. Secondly, FMS told in the earlier part that it encourages students to collaborate. So, the learning is very constructive and helps you to in real business. Also, we need to work together with employees. So, FMS talked about it and hostels that very approach to working. The third is situated in Delhi, you get to work on serious life projects and also most of the big companies are here. So, you can work on various interesting projects so, these are the three reasons why I chose FMS Delhi.

FMS Delhi: 3 Answered Questions

How is life at FMS Delhi?

Pratyasha
Sidhharth JainLives in New Delhi (2000–present)

The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) is part of one of the world's most prestigious universities, The University of Delhi. MBA from FMS is a dream that many people have, but only a few achieve. Established in 1954, the institute was incepted with a focus on management education and not just on business management.

Academics: You will quickly realise that there is no room for boredom at FMS; you will always be on your toes, rushing to classes, attending guest lectures, submitting assignments, preparing case studies, and so on. Academics at FMS are more than just whiteboard or PowerPoint presentations in the classroom; they also include field trips, group tasks, individual/group projects, and bunking together to encourage you to think beyond FMS.

Extracurricular Activities: Aside from academics, life at FMS will be surrounded by various student societies that will provide you with exciting events to keep you busy. The B-school basically forces you to participate in competitions and live projects that will allow you to explore the seemingly limitless opportunities available to B-school students.

The routine of the Day: A typical day in the life of an FMS student begins around 8 a.m. when he or she wakes up and prepares to attend class, which begins promptly at 9. Every day, there are four classes for one hour each. The classes are followed once or twice a week by a Guest Lecture by eminent personalities from the industry who provide first-hand experience and great insights into the ever-changing business scenario.

Annual Festivals and Clubs: Aside from academics, the college participates in a variety of co-curricular activities. The various clubs under the purview of cultural society, namely Nethra - the photography club, KALA - the fine arts club, and Agamya - the literary and debate club, hold events throughout the year, allowing students to pursue their hobbies and interests in various fields.

Library: The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Library is a valuable resource for students, researchers, and business and management faculty. has amassed a substantial library of over 50,000 books, over 100 journals (including 60 foreign journals), 12 newspapers, and numerous other resources such as theses, student project reports, CDs, various reports, economic survey reports, and so on.

What is your review of the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi?

Amanda Marie Jacob
Rishit JainStudied at Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi

One of the most cited B Schools in India, the Faculty of Management Studies focuses more on management education and not just on business management. The pedagogy comprises fieldwork, case studies, and feedback with a strong emphasis on concepts and theory.

According to IIFT 2022, its national rank is 4th. I will try to give an unbiased review based on the following aspects

Placements

FMS Delhi maintains a stable placement record of almost 100% over the years. Students receive high salary packages every year. The highest salary this year stood at INR 58 LPA whereas the average salary stood at INR 34.2 LPA which increased by 30.5% as compared to the previous year. Some major firms that visited the campus for recruitment are Boston Consulting Group, Nykaa, Paytm, Adobe, Adani Group, and BYJU.

Infrastructure

Although FMS offers no special hostel facilities, the DU hostels are also a choice. Around 20% of the batch go for hostels test search for PGs or flats near the campus itself. The students can avail of playground and sports facilities at Delhi University.

Faculty

The faculty is top-notch and very experienced. The teaching is not restricted to classrooms and assignments rather the faculty adopts a case-based approach. Various live projects are conducted every year. Top management executives visit the campus and hold guest lectures to provide maximum exposure to its students. Other assignments and field projects have tight deadlines and aid in the proper evaluation of the students.

So overall I think FMS is really a good choice for someone who wants to learn from the best at minimal expenses.

How is it like being at FMS Delhi? Would you trade your life with someone studying in top IIMs A B or C?

Gaurav YadavMBA in Marketing, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi (Graduated 2002)

In comparison to the IIMs, FMS retains the advantages of small batch size and a fee structure that is relatively low. The small batch size simplifies placements significantly. With the exception of a few foreign consultancies, most of the top companies that visit the IIMs also visit FMS. Despite all of the university's bureaucracy, etc., there is a well-established alumni network that still ensures that things work out for the current batches.

Because of the small batch size, people are extremely competitive. This was in stark contrast to what you hear about the IIMs. Even though they have competition but they maintain some semblance of sanity due to the large batch. FMS can be difficult to manage at times, both in obvious behaviours and subtle actions by people you study with.

The culture at FMS is influenced by the culture of Delhi. In comparison, IIMs are unquestionably more cosmopolitan. Unless you have prior exposure, adjusting to a new environment can be difficult for people from very different cultures, such as the South or East. Otherwise, you'll have to learn to adjust the hard way. But it's still worth the effort. The people you meet in both locations are of the highest calibre. It is up to you to make the best of the situation.

Even if given the chance, there's no way one would like to trade places with the IIMs.
