College management is also helpful and supportive.
I have 4 years of work experience and wanted to do an MBA for my personal and professional development. I wanted to further my career trajectory and make a move from data and analytics into management consulting, hence pursuing an MBA was the best possible way forward. To choose the best institution that can offer me a good MBA experience, I had to either write CAT (more relevant for Indian business schools such as IIMs, FMS, etc.) or GMAT (more for international focus schools such as ISB and US/UK b-schools). I had 4+ years of experience, so it made sense to write GMAT and do either an executive MBA or a full time MBA from ISB since it is the #1 ranked business school in India of international stature. The average GMAT score (general aptitude test) for ISB admission is 670 but it is safe to score 700+ marks. I got 720, and that's when I started preparing my application for ISB. They ask us to write a couple of essays describing why we want to join the college and why they should choose us over other candidates - this is the most important part of the written application. Once the candidate clears the written application stage (keep in mind that this is an elimination round), they receive a call to interview. The interview panel comprises of ISB alums and/or professors. The candidate is given admission if he/she clears the interview round.
ISB holds a 100% placement record. The placements usually take place over several days and a lot of companies visit on the same day. Hence it is very important for the students to prioritize beforehand which companies do they want to sit for first, depending on their interest areas and chances of getting in. ISB provides a lot of study material to prep students for the placement depending on industry interests such as case prep material for product management and consulting, interview guidelines, resume building workshops, practice interviews conducted by alums etc. Unfortunately, there are no internship opportunities provided by the school as it is a short duration program of only 1 year as opposed to the usual 2-year MBA programs offered by other business schools. However, ISB does provide an internship-like opportunity called an Experiential Learning Program.
A lot of events take place on campus and most of these are student run and externally sponsored. There are a lot of business events such as ISB Leadership Summit and Women in Leadership talks. Then there are social events such as Bandhan (community program for poor kids) and Aikya (adopt a family program). Last but not least there are a lot of cultural programs that take place on campus throughout the year. Renowned celebrities including but not limited to Karan Johar, Abhishek Bachan, Shashi Tharoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Mohit Chauhan, Regha Jha etc. have featured and participated in these events.
The fee structure is slightly expensive compared to other business schools in the country, although it is cheaper than any 2 year international MBA. There is full transparency on fee breakdown and several loan options are also provided by the college.
Yes, scholarship opportunities are available to students applying in Round 1 of the application. The candidate needs to write an essay on the need for scholarship. On average, 20-30% scholarship can be availed on the total fees.
The gender ratio is more or less balanced with 60% males and 40% females in my batch. ISB offers a great campus life with student village events and quad parties. Over 10% of the student population is comprised of international students, so there is also the diversity element to the college admissions. Further, the college offers student exchange programs wherein students can spend up to 2 semesters at any of the partner schools worldwide. In exchange, there are students from different international universities who come to ISB on exchange for a semester or two.
Very helpful seniors and vast alumni network. I have personally reached out to many ISB alums on LinkedIn and they have been extremely supportive and helpful.
The course curriculum is well-structured and organized as it is a short span MBA of only 1 year. The professors at ISB are all of international fame and recognition (including visiting professors from renowned international schools such as Harvard, MIT, Emory, Stanford etc.). The exam and course structure is focused more on skills based lifelong learning. Several student run clubs also exist on campus that are organized into various sectors/industries such as consulting club, technology club, infra club etc. These clubs do organize company and industry visits for interested students.
As highlighted before, ISB has a world-class faculty, with outstanding resident faculty as well as visiting professors of international fame and recognition. Several visiting professors fly down from all over the world including US and Europe. The teaching method is very practical and implementation focused. Average age of faculty is 40 years and most of the professors are Ph.Ds, involved in several ongoing research projects. There are also research labs and departments on campus that have been established by resident faculty to promote research work.
College management is also helpful and supportive.

My answer is based on my sister’s comparison therefore is brutally honest and objective. Some people might still be praising the Business Analytics course but trust me it’s their see efforts to increase its market value only.
I personally am here to convince you against the Business Analytics course. My sister was a student in the same program and even after relentless efforts for 1.5 years, the results were nowhere near expectations. In Fact, she suffered throughout the course and her career was affected a lot in the process. The following points strongly support my opinion and might convince you of the same
Poor quality and substandard faculty who keep changing their rules
If you are really keen to pursue your career in Business Analytics, choose one area in analytics you want to specialize in and pursue that specific area only. For instance, you can choose a Big data or Machine Learning course and go through their concepts and look for jobs and internships in that area specifically. This is a faster and much more focused way rather than joining the CBA program.
The Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad has a unified application process for both its Hyderabad and Mohali campuses. Prospective students can take either the GRE or GMAT exam to be considered for admission. Depending on their years of work experience, applicants can choose from three different application channels: the Young Leader Program (YLP), the Early Entry Option (EEO), or the Post Graduate Program (PGP).
To apply, candidates must meet certain prerequisites and submit an online application. This application should include compelling essays that showcase the applicant's leadership skills and professional expertise. After submitting their application, shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview. The final decision on admission or rejection will be communicated approximately 15 days after the interview.
You may have heard differing opinions on the current status of IBS Hyderabad. While it is true that there have been some changes that have led to a decline in the quality of education and the reputation of the campus, there are several specific factors that have contributed to this decline.
One factor is the increasing batch size. The college has been adding at least 50 to 100 students each year, which has resulted in a larger student body. However, this increase in batch size has also meant a decrease in the quality of the students being admitted to the main campus.
Another issue is the lack of dedication from some of the professors. Despite having degrees from prestigious universities, some professors are not fully committed to teaching and providing quality education to their students.
The administration's approach to filling the larger batch size has led to the admission of mediocre students who are not serious about their education and cause disruptions in the classroom and in the hostels. This creates a negative environment that can affect the learning experience of all students.
The administration has also failed to enforce rules and regulations, allowing students to engage in harmful activities like smoking, drinking, and damaging hostel properties. These actions have led to a decline in the reputation of the campus and have negatively impacted the placements of students. Companies have noticed the lack of skills and poor behavior of some students during the recruitment process, which has led them to question the quality of education being provided at IBS Hyderabad.
To restore its former glory, the administration needs to prioritize improving the quality of education and ensuring that rules and regulations are followed by all students. Additionally, offering mental conditioning classes for students can help them develop a more professional demeanor, both in the classroom and during the recruitment process, ensuring that the campus continues to attract top companies for placements.
The daily schedule at the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad typically begins with early morning classes, which start at 8 am and vary depending on the student's section. Many students grab breakfast or a coffee on their way to class. The class schedule includes two hours of lecture, followed by a half-hour break and another two hours of lecture. After classes, students have the opportunity to grab lunch and network with their peers at the Goels dining hall or take a break before diving into extracurricular activities. These activities can include assignments, study group meetings, music or art activities, gym time, club activities, and more.
The campus is active throughout the day and night, with some students finishing their work late into the night and others taking peaceful strolls on the ISB ring road. The schedule and activities on campus can vary depending on the term and events happening on campus.
It is important to note that the Indian School of Business (ISB) does not offer a specific course structure that trains students to become Human Resource Managers. The Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) at ISB is a general management program that covers various aspects of business, including human resources. However, the Fellow Program in Management does have an area called Organizational Behaviour and Strategy which is closely related to Human Resource Management.
While at ISB, students have the opportunity to take subjects related to human resources such as Strategy and Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Healthcare, Public Policy, and Strategic Performance Management. Additionally, ISB hosts a 2-3 day program for executives that focuses on linking human resources with business strategy. However, this program cannot be considered a specialization.
If you are specifically looking to specialize in Human Resource Management, you may want to consider other business schools such as the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, XLRI Jamshedpur, Xavier Institute of Management Bhubhaneshwar, or Xavier Institute of Social Service Ranchi, which offer full-time courses in Human Resource Management. Additionally, there are short certification programs offered by organizations such as Talent Management Institute, HR Certification Institute, Society for Human Resource Management, and Human Capital Institute, which could be a good option for working professionals looking to change their field of work or add HR credentials to their CVs. These programs are also cheaper than regular full-time courses.
The ISB routine is rigorous, with a heavy workload and limited time to complete it. You will have class quizzes every week and exams every fortnight, in addition to other extracurricular activities and assignments. However, once you become accustomed to it, you may find that you enjoy the challenge.
It is important to have decent academic skills, as evidenced by a GMAT score in the range of 600 to 770, but it is also important to note that your performance in class quizzes, assignments, and other activities also plays a role in determining your grade. If you are considering applying to ISB, it is important to focus on your application and not let the rigorous routine discourage you.
Yes, EY GDS does offer an MBA at ISB Hyderabad. But if we talk about its worth, it’s a debatable issue. My friend has been with the firm for nearly 2 months and has a lot to say about the course. Some major pros and cons below will help you make a wiser decision
Pros
Cons
Make your decision after weighing the pros and cons only.
You have the opportunity to attend ISB Hyderabad, a top-notch management school, with at least two years of work experience. However, there are also options available for college students or those with 0-2 years of work experience through their YLP (Young Leaders Program) and EEO (Early Entry Option) programs.
The YLP program allows you to apply during your pre-final year of college and complete the admission process by the time you reach your final year. Once you have two years of work experience, you can start classes at ISB Hyderabad with a deferred admission.
The EEO program offers a similar process for students in their final year of college or those with 0-2 years of work experience.
It's important to note that the YLP and EEO programs only provide different ways of applying to ISB and everything else, including the course content, is the same for all students.
B Schools focus on overall profiles rather than individual parameters. Individually speaking your 12th score values a lot in ISB Hyderabad admission. But if you look at the bigger picture it is just one of the many factors that determine one’s eligibility. B Schools specially ISB Hyderabad prefer candidates with an overall pleasing profile rather than extraordinary performance in one area only. For instance, someone with splendid past academics may not get admission because he wrote a poor essay or performed badly at the interview.
If you are bothered a lot by your low marks in class 10 or 12, you should have a logical reason for your poor performance. Also, you should compensate for poor scores by getting excellent GMAT scores and working on other areas like EQ and IQ. Another way to compensate for average past performance is by portraying an excellent extracurricular background or the social work you have done so far.
The most crucial part is the clarity of goals. More than any score what matters is the reason you choose MBA and that too from ISB Hyderabad.
Your profile should have something that sets you apart from other candidates and increases your chances of admission.
