Delhi College of Arts and Commerce Faculties : Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 170 Reviews

The faculty at DCAC is highly qualified, with many professors holding Ph.D. degrees and possessing extensive teaching experience ranging from 5 to 30 years. The college boasts a favorable faculty-to-student ratio, approximately 50:1 or less, ensuring personalized attention and interactive sessions. Faculty members are approachable and supportive, offering doubt sessions and extra help outside class hours. The institution is renowned for its commerce and journalism faculties, with a significant portion of the professors being alumni of prestigious colleges.

While permanent faculty members are praised for their teaching excellence, guest faculty occasionally lack engagement. Despite some variability, the overall teaching quality is high, contributing to a good student passing ratio. Faculty members actively participate in extracurricular activities, enhancing students' academic and cultural experiences. However, the college lacks hostel facilities, and the cafeteria food is deemed average.

So regarding the faculty to student ratio I believe in our BA program it varies a lot but overall the what I have really seen the faculty to student ratio is except one or two areas like one of them is can you can say the excel class where they teach you excel I think it is one of the part of BCOM programs I don't know properly so I will not say much on it but that's where I have seen the faculty to student ratio isn't that great but overall it is you know good enough that if you want to ask doubts and if you want some level of like you know guidance from teacher you will usually get that the relationship between student is I believe how first you approach the professor if you are if you are respectful most of them are like you know easy to work with and easy to cooperate with Yeah there could be some problem with one or two but exception lies everywhere so you can't do anything about it So here that is one of the things you would say the faculties that I like would be Farheen ma'am from Python and Aminish Sir from English fluency would be there then again Farheen ma'am from SEC class is Well usually what I have seen is that it is kinda rigorous if you do not pay much attention to the curriculum but it isn't that difficult like I would say it also depends where it really varies because like per subjects like like a BA in Hindi or history you could get a good CGP or a good percentage if you study like one day or two day before the exam but in my personal in my domain of knowledge like in mathematics and in computer application you have to study like almost every day so it is more academically rigorous yet difficult and yes many students get their back in mathematics as well The relevancy I believe it builds your much more aptitude to you know build your like compatibility towards things I believe that it the most important thing what college gives us in these courses is one would be aptitude and another would be The ability to think beyond your domain I would say

Basically in Bcom (p) there is no rigid marking but its 90 marks theory paper and 70 marks practical paper in order to clear the subject you have to pass in both theory and oractical separately Otherwise ER can be resulted in your score card Faculty is nice while giving internal marks if have decent attendance and known presence under that teachers eye

Faculty:

Faculty to student ratio is great in some most departments but I've heard that for mathematics and computer department, it lags behind heavily. The professors are very well qualified and very helpful, they reach very well as well. In the English department, Dr. Neelam Yadav, Mrs. Renu Singh, Dr. Animesh Mohapatra and Mr. Rohit Pritam are all exceptionally good, their way of teaching and being there for the students at all the times and mentoring them is a blessing, you should blindly chose this college if this is your priority, just like I did.

The faculty to student ratio for Journalism Honours is good with 6 professors over 60 students. The faculty is amiable, understanding and excellent in their teachings. They are very approachable, helpful and provide proper guidance to shape future of their students. All other faculties are equally good. There is one final exam for each semester. The course compiles of 6 semesters. However, there is also a scope for fourth year (8 semesters). In addition to the written exam, practicals and tutes for few subjects apply. Internal and continous assessment maintains consistency within students. The exams contain both easy and difficult questions. They are very relevant to the course curriculum and hence, chances of failing is low.

Faculty of my college is really good as they are soo supportive and help students to gain practical knowledge rather than rote learning. The faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:40 in our college. Our college also have different societies/club which are supported by faculty to create a healthy and enjoyable environment with learning for students. Exams are not soo stressful in our college as syllabus are completed on time.!

Student Snaps:

Faculty:

There are faculty members to every department and the overall relationship between students and faculty members is good as per the service given by them. And there is very easy approach to every faculty offline and as well as online also. The book distribution, students profile handing faculty, faculty of campus and it's management and many more are good because they service they are offering is very accessible to everyone as per the resources they have. And only there is one faculty that I didn't like is faculty of IT department because for minor things we have to reach there website and many times it has glitches and not working,so it should be improved. And The exam pattern and system is very simple like I am pursuing my bachelor's degree so In a year there are 2 semester and for every semester we have to give internal assessment before theory exam and for every semester we have to give the exams of 7 subjects choosen by students and some of give by college, the exams are so fair and easy as all questions are asking from direct to the syllabus so like who is completing their syllabus they are passing their exams with good marking ( from my batch there are are 44 students who are passed in previous semester)and who is not simply failing in it and there are only 3 students who are not passed from the previous semester because they have not completed their syllabus . Marking system is very simple like for every question the marks are allocated in the question paper and for every question students gets the marks if he or she is writing relevant to the given question and also there is no negative marking in our exam system.

There are good facuties in DCAC. However they are not willing to teach, that's the another matter. I profoundly like some of our English professors, though they are also the same but they are open to the students who are willing to learn. In our class there are 12-100 students depending upon the subject we are studying. Generally if I take a general sense from my EVS Class there is one teacher on approximately 120-150 students of particular semester, and there are 3 semesters running consequently in a particular time. The professors ofent don't repeat for professional courses like ge, vac and sec, thats a good thing we, come across new interpretetion and perspectives.

Talking about the faculty it's good they are polite and helpful . Faculty maintain good relationship with students and the faculty is very easy to approach for asking help. So now let's talk about exam system so our college comes under delhi University so they conduct exams twice in a year which is call end semester exams and every semester have 6 months of gap from next semester. Talking about difficulty level so the end semester exams have moderate level of difficulty but the checking system of Delhi University is very good as the chance of getting failed is very less
