Course Curriculum Overview

2

The course curriculum is though according to NEP butnis very outdated, in our major subject like I have German and papers of English, we are not studying any professional expertise subject even in our third year. Just theories.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are a number of unpaid ones. The selection process is easy as the name of the college and student Quality is decent. There are certain paid ones also mostly offering marketing roles. Preferably for commerce students. But yes one can get a number of internship opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for the BA program at Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC) includes an annual tuition fee of ?9,800, which amounts to ?29,400 for the entire three-year duration. In addition to this, students are required to pay an examination fee of ?1,500 (depending upon number of papers) per semester. Since the program consists of six semesters, the total examination fee sums up to ?9,000 approx. Therefore, the overall cost for the BA program, including tuition and examination fees, comes to ?38,400 over three years. This amount does not include additional expenses such as hostel charges, library fees, or other miscellaneous costs, which may be applicable depending on the college’s policies.

Campus Life

2

The Infrastructure is very bad as I mentioned, the canteen is worthless, the campus is very small, and there are outdated classroom, but because of NAAC teams arrival we get a chance to get a sort of good and clean classroom in our final year. There are a number of societies, like dancing, advertisment, placement, singing, debating, etc. We can join anyone of them very easily, just we have to work a lot in it. Apart from this the student Quality is also decent but can be better. I think the cutoffs should be made more competitive to ensure good quality of students in the campus.

Admission

I just want to pursue a foreign language course. So this is the only option in DU, apart from this I have applied to JNU in that I was getting Russian Language but that was not as per my choice. If I was able to make it in JNU, then I might get many Benifits like placements, exposure, and most importantly practical subject to study in an language like, translation tools etc. The admission process is very simple, just appear in CUET, get the score fill out form and bravo you will be selected, if you have a decent one.

Faculty

4

There are good facuties in DCAC. However they are not willing to teach, that's the another matter. I profoundly like some of our English professors, though they are also the same but they are open to the students who are willing to learn. In our class there are 12-100 students depending upon the subject we are studying. Generally if I take a general sense from my EVS Class there is one teacher on approximately 120-150 students of particular semester, and there are 3 semesters running consequently in a particular time. The professors ofent don't repeat for professional courses like ge, vac and sec, thats a good thing we, come across new interpretetion and perspectives.

Interview Experience

4

No, I have not faced any type of interview while admission. There was a councelling process only, where I have registered in du portal and got admission by paying fee. Then when the classes got started I connected with the teachers they started classes of our group and after 4 months there was a document verification. No complications were faced in admission. There was an informative introduction session too.

Night Life

2

There is a place called mini near the college that is our sutta bar, so one can hangout there, and apart form this there is a netaji nagar market that is not very happening, often students, go there for lunch. The most of the area around the college is expensive or in redevelopment. Which makes it a non-happening place.

Other Applied Colleges

Jawaharlal Nehru University - [JNU] | German

Was not selected in cutoff list.

Banaras Hindu University - [BHU] | Bachelor of Fine Arts [BFA]

Was very far from my location.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason why I choose this subject because I like history and want to know more about it . History have the best opportunities to pursue the UPSC , Anthropology, archeology and we can learn more about historical researches . The faculty im the department of history is updated and well versed in the field of history and have adopted student friendly teaching methods which make me suggest this subject in JMC to the students who likes to pursue higher studies in history. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester with moderate difficulty level .
