CUET UG 2026: How Many Students Appeared and Qualified

Out of 15,68,867 students registered for CUET UG 2026, a total of 11,64,098 students appeared for the exam — and all appearing students received official NTA scorecards and percentile ranks, making them eligible for admissions at any of the 244 participating universities.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the CUET UG 2026 result on 23 June 2026, just 16 days after the final exam date of 7 June 2026. Unlike NEET UG, CUET UG has no central qualifying cutoff set by NTA. Every student who appeared receives a valid scorecard and percentile score, and universities individually set their own admission cutoffs based on these scores.

CUET UG 2026 Registration and Appearance Overview

CUET UG 2026 was conducted from 11 May to 31 May 2026, with re-tests on 6 and 7 June 2026. The exam ran in CBT mode across 868 centres in India and 15 international locations covering 321 cities. A total of 332 question papers were administered across 35 shifts with 12,906 unique paper combinations.

Since NTA does not set a central qualifying cutoff, all 11,64,098 students who appeared are eligible to apply at participating universities using their subject-wise NTA scores. University admission lists and cutoffs are released separately after the result.

A notable trend in CUET UG 2026 is that female students outnumbered male students among those who actually appeared, even though male registrations were marginally higher.

Female students recorded a higher appearance rate than male students. This pattern reflects growing engagement among female students with central university admissions through CUET.

Subject-wise Participation in CUET UG 2026

Students could opt for up to five subjects from 37 available options. English was the most selected subject with 12,64,099 students, followed by Chemistry, Physics, and the General Test.

8,69,959 students chose the maximum five subjects, while 3,63,096 chose four and 2,93,660 chose three. The average number of subjects per student was 4.31, showing that most students opted for near-maximum subject coverage to keep their university options open.

CUET UG 2026 Top Scorers and 100 Percentile Achievers

Devina Gahlot from Delhi topped CUET UG 2026 with an aggregate NTA score of 1232.19. A total of 3,417 students secured 100 percentile in at least one subject.

Five subjects — Accountancy, Psychology, History, Sanskrit, and Odia — had at least one student achieve the maximum possible NTA score of 250.00. The top three overall scorers were Devina Gahlot (1232.19), Saksham Goel (1230.82), and Udit Chaturvedi from Himachal Pradesh (1207.21).
