The organised structure of course was the best thing i have experienced in my life.
My peers and the diversity of background they were having.
Dislikes
Campus, as our college campus is still under Construction
Placement Experience:
The placements for current season were not as good as they used to be, it definitely could have been better, majority of the roles floated were of sales, and for business analytics there wasn't much roles as well as openings. But it also varied coz of macroeconomic situations.
Campus and Faculties and their vast knowledge about the industry
Various guest lectures from industry corporate
conclaves and industry insights that the lecturers provided
Dislikes
travel time from college to hostel was sometimes frustrating
the location of the hostel where convenience was an issue
the infrastructure was in progress so we had to attend sometimes in a temporary college
Course Curriculum Overview:
management concepts were strong and the foundation is cleared early. All the courses are updated and industry oriented. We had visiting faculties from various IIM's so they shared their insights with us. The courses are relevant and helpful for a student's future trajectory.
The learnings and exposure were great, faculty was top-notch, placement committee was not toxic.
The accommodation was great as of now as we were in transit campus.
There are certain webinars taking place every now and then with industry experts, these experiences have been great.
Dislikes
Placement opportunities majorly came for sales roles, no accountability taken up.
Food of the mess was not good at all, only a single dish on sunday i.e. Chhole Kulche used to be great.
The overall night life of the city was not good, people were rude and cabs would hardly take you to the desired places
Placement Experience:
It definitely can get better, it was good for our seniors and possibilities are there of them being good for our juniors but, macroeconomic factors play a huge role in this, as even US was not able to give the targeted employment which also has a great implication on the Indian job market, can't really blame the student-run body, but it definitely could have been better.
Placement support from college was really good. As there was problem in the job market the placements post MBA for all the colleges were having problems but IIM Amritsar helped the students with placement support in every was possible
Good interaction with the faculties and the faculties are very helpful.
Hostel provided are very spacious and comfortable for stay.
Dislikes
The campus for the college is not yet ready so the students have to travel through bus form hostel to campus to attend lec which can be hectic as the lectures are being spread throughout the day.
Very few inhouse faculty staying long term here. Most of the faculty here are visiting.
The Buses provided for the transit from hostel to college are not in good condition which can be a hassle as students have to travel almost 1 hr daily by bus
Placement Experience:
Placements were good. The students were given complete placement support for both summer internship and final placemtents. There was 100 percent placement in the college and more than 450 roles were offered for the final placement.
the couses are great. provides great indutrial exposure. Faculties are great, they have all done phds from insttitutes of national importance. The only dowside are the classrooms since classes are held in ransit campus
Himachal is just few hours from the hostels so we used to enjoy our weekend in Himachal
Supportive faculties, like there are some faculties which are really supportive and will help you in any situation
Dislikes
Low quality transportation- The buses hired for transporation doesnt have AC, they are very poor standard buses.
The distance between College Campus and Hostel is 12km. So travelling is big issue. Poor Campus Infrastructure
Placement Experience:
Final Placement also starts from August along with the Summer internships, Usually till February Most of the students get placed, but during our time placements was bit challenging due to market conditions.
everyone does not get placed some opt out and those who did not get placed have to search by their own. Few students from my batch are still yet to be placed, Placements committee is bringing companies but those companies are not good or paying much lesser.
In my opinion Placement Process should be done by Management or any Agency, Students should not be involved in the Placements role. When students are involved for placements and they have been provided with so much control and power they misuses it. The Placement Committee run by students does not work with transparency lot of misuse of power and control is being done by those students.
Environment overall, people, some of the faculty (teaching wise)
Activities that take place throughout the year
Case competition opportunity, become a manager opportunity
Dislikes
Travel time I’m bus daily, is tiring and hectic
Sometimes the environment become so much competitive
Some people apart from having good workex they are dumb
Placement Experience:
SIp starts from 2nd term itself. We have placement week as well
Placements are good, companies come to campus
Mostly banks plus marketing companies
Tech companies have been in trend as well
I'll go for job only
100% placement record
In ours batch as well as seniors all got placed
The environment of the college really helps you get ready to face the corporate world after the degree.
The faculty, staff, senior and peers are all very helpful and supportive.
Placement Experience:
The institute provides 100% placement to the students. The top companies of the nation also hire IIM graduates in the corporate sector. In the last 5 years, all the students who have graduated from the institute have been placed well.
Some of the faculties are really good and cooperative
The placement scenario is quite decent for a Newer IIM.
Dislikes
We are currently operating out of a temporary campus and it will take two more years for our permanent campus to get build.
Placement Experience:
We have 3 trimesters each year and final placements start from the beginning of 5th trimester. Our average for the 2021-23 batch was 16.51 LPA and the lowest salary was 8 LPA and the highest was 36 LPA.
Interaction with students coming from diverse backgrounds.
Dislikes
Daily transit from Hostel to College is unbearable.
Strict rule on attendance (80%), else grade drops.
Not an immersive learning experience due to teachers not living near hostels.
Placement Experience:
100% Placements through campus. Process starts after completion of 4th term. Highest package around 40 LPA - Abroad and average around 15 LPA. Plenty of MNCs offering diverse profiles. From IT, Consulting, Automobile, FMCG backgrounds.
